A relatively new addition to our Midtown neighborhood, my husband and I were excited to try TAP. Enticed by the fabulous location, we ventured there one Saturday evening with a group of friends. Right away we loved the atmosphere. Teeming with twenty and thirty-somethings from every direction, we had to wait a minute or two for a prime spot on the Peachtree patio. This gave us an opportunity to hang out at the cool oval shaped bar that hovers in the middle of the restaurant. We all ordered different imported beers, with 20 beers on draught to choose from, and even more in the bottle. Each one of our beers came in different glassware, depending on the type of beer we ordered. When we did get seated on the patio, we ordered a couple of the shared plates to split. The buffalo fried calamari with blue cheese and the beet salad with goat cheese and pecans were both delicious. Eager to make the most of the sophisticated pub grub, we all ordered the pub burger with shoestring fries, except for my husband who ordered the pork chop with ravioli, mushrooms, brown butter, sage and pine nuts. We all loved our meals. The shoestring fries are quite addicting. Overall, I would give TAP an enthusiastic thumbs up, both for food and atmosphere. We can't wait to try the Sunday brunch.
