When my girlfriend and I arrived at the Lobster Bar for dinner, they greeted me with "Happy Birthday, Mr. (insert my girlfriend's last name)." The comedic value led me to allow the waiter to call me by her name for the entire dinner. The atmosphere was romantic, and the lighting (a pet peeve of mine) was perfect. When nice restaurants are too dim I feel like I live in Alaska. The martinis were tasty, and the waiter recommended one of the cheapest reds on the menu. I feel much more comfortable when the waiter isn't constantly working the up-sell, and the wine was beautiful. We both went surf and turf with the NY strip - she had crab (which was gone in 60 seconds like Nicolas Cage, I never got to taste it) and I had lobster. Every bit of every meat, fish, potato (garlic mashed), and green bean was perfect. My only real complaint is that they gave us a spoon to serve the green beans with. The inappropriate serving utensil resulted in the tragic loss of several beans to the placemat, most of which I quickly and rudely recovered to my plate. Go early and often, it's some of the best steak I've ever had.
