I found my hair life partner!

Let me start this review by saying I've never written on Citysearch... but my happiness at FINALLY finding a truly wonderful stylist in AJ at Fresche has inspired me to write a review!

A friend recently joked that when I talk about AJ it sounds as I'm talking about my hair life partner... and it's true. The whole process is collaborative: I tell him what I'm thinking, he gives suggestions, and then it always comes out better than I thought it would. This process has allowed me to feel confident enough to take risks with my hair (ex. blunt bangs) that I never would have otherwise.

I've never gotten more compliments on my hair (both color and cut) before. On more than one occasion I've been complimented by total strangers... this never happened before I found AJ!

Finally, I find AJ's services to be really affordable (no more than I paid when I lived in Athens, GA or Columbus, OH.) That's really important for a girl on an educator's salary, like me.

I've encouraged anyone I know that's dissatisfied with their current stylist to try AJ and many have. So far no one has been less than ecstatic at the results. He's really a wonderful person with extreme talent. :)

WORST HAIR EXPERIENCE! MADE HAIR PINK!

I WAS AT FRECSHE FOR FIVE HOURS and they ruined my hair! Not only did they mess up the color, but they turned my hair pink! When I got home, my hair was brittle, breaking off and ruined from the constant processes they used to try to make it right.

I left with a smile cause I felt bad for Lori. But when I got home, I cried and cried. I now have to find a new salon and an experienced hair colorist!!!! One place is going to give me a 'conditioning treatment" just to get my hair back to where it was.

I don't recommend Fresche Hair Salon for NOT just the inexperienced colorist and Britney who washed my hair into the pink, BUT FOR AIMEE THE RECEPTIONIST AND SISTER TO THE OWNER, FOR NOT GIVING A CRAP!!!! Find a salon that is professional and will do what they can to make such a horrific mistake, right.

Great Hair cut and color!!

This was the first time I had my hair colored by a professional (I usually do it myself) and I felt that was quite worth it. She matched and evened out my color perfectly and I feel completely spoiled now about hair coloring! The cut was also extremely nice.

My hairstylist was Phillipa - she was very professional and spent quite a bit of time with me. I've never had such a luxuriating hair wash, color and cut. I highly recommend her.

The location is a wonderful area in the Oakhurst neighborhood.

The price was way more than I usually spend but I don't know how it compares to other places in Atlanta as I just moved here from another state. If it is close to or the same as other prices its more than worth it1

GREAT HAIR CUT!

I purchased a groupon for the salon and was very skeptical. I am African American but, I have very finely textured curly hair. Also, I have only let 1 person cut, color, and do my hair my entire life, UNTIL JOI! LOVE LOVE LOVE her. I was very nervous and showed her 1 picture. She was honest and told me exactly what I should do and should not do then gave ME the choice to decide. I let her do whatever she thought was best...result...AMAZING HAIR CUT! I get so many compliments and my hair has grown so much. Thank you Joi. I'll be back very soon for my 6 week hair cut!

Not to mention...I was in and out in less than an hour...talk about great service!

Best Haircut in Atlanta and Surrounding

Let me preface this by saying that I am phenomenally picky about hairstylists. I have lived in Atlanta for three years now. In the first two years that I lived here, I went through six different stylists. Only one of them was horrible, most of the rest were simply mediocre. Joi is the best stylist that I have ever been to. She has tolerated my tendency to change my mind about my hair at every visit, and has an incredible capacity to make my hair (which is a pain) to work with my face in a way that I have never had another stylist do. My last two haircuts have prompted more than one person to tell me that it's the best haircut I've ever had. My most recent haircut (pixie cut!) is phenomenal, and gets multiple compliments a day. I love Joi, and would strongly recommend her to anyone looking for a great, reliable stylist who REALLY knows what to do with hair!

Okay haircut but horrendous color!

I visited Fresche back in March upon seeing their ad in the Savvy Shopper. They had a coupon for new clients if you booked with specific stylists. I wanted to go to Fresche to experience a trendy, up-scale salon to treat myself before my wedding.

I booked for a base color and cut. I have very dark hair, almost black with a small amount of gray hair mixed in. I've been dying my hair for quite some time covering the gray up. I told the stylist that my gray hair can be "resistant" to color so she made sure to let the color process longer.

The hair color was okay the first day - I could still see traces of a "white-ish" strand of hair here and there. Little did I realise though, that when I went to wash my hair the next day how much hair dye would come out. My tub was black with excess hair dye that was left in my hair. The stylist obviously did not rinse thoroughly. Upon multiple washings, the dye all but washed out and I make sure to use color-safe hair products.

I was shocked as I can do a better job myself with a box from the drug store.

I did like my haircut but this place was NOT what I was hoping for!

Great cut, great experience

I bought a Groupon for this salon to try something new. I lucked out & was able to walk in without an appointment & get a great hair cut from Karen on the spot! Great value, great cut, great experience. I'll be back. Thanks, Fresche folks.

Good for a while, then treated very unprofessionally

I was a loyal patron of this salon for over 3 years. I drove many miles to see Joi for color and cuts. While I admit that I like to change my hair often and I have a strong opinion of what I like, I do not feel like I deserved to be treated so badly and unprofessionally. For about 2 years, I got great cuts and color, so it wasn't all bad. The last year I went to the salon there was a decline in the quality and level of service I received. The final straw was getting a horrible cut that resembled a bowl cut like Moe from the 3 Stooges. I had to go to a different salon and pay to have it corrected, so I paid for 2 cuts in 1 week. I know that Joi knew I was unsatisfied when I left, and not once did she contact me to offer any resolution to the issue. (The one time I did go back to her to have her even up a cut, she made me feel totally uncomfortable. So I wasn’t about to go back this time.) It really seemed like she was purposely trying to get rid of me. I'm cool with a stylist and customer disconnecting and needing to "break-up", but it is totally unprofessional for a stylist to give a customer a bad cut/color just to get rid of them. A conversation would have been much more professional. I sent a few of my friends to this salon as well, and they have all left too. I do miss the great cuts and color that I got from Joi for so long, but I just can’t go back.
