Great all round experience!

by Alejandro Walters at Citysearch

I signed up for a massage at the Midtown location a couple of weeks ago. It was my first experience at this spa so I was unfamiliar with the process. I was very pleased with the service I received. A greeter was waiting for me when I got off the elevator, and was shown to my changing room. As soon as I came out a masseuse showed me the way. Everything was nicely presented to create a pleasant, relaxed mood, with the dim lighting, the candles, and the waterfall sounds. The massage itself was very professional and the masseuse was friendly and warm. Compared to other massages I've had here and in other countries around the world where I've travelled, I would definitely rate this one on the high quality side. Attention to detail was noticeable everywhere. I would recommend it highly to anyone who hasn't been here before.

  • Pros: Fantastic total relax/massage session
  • Cons: None really

Nice staff

by jayceeande at Citysearch

Great place to go and get pampered, but price is a little higher than other nice spas. I do like the environment there tho, as well as access to steam room before/after services.

  • Pros: great massage therapists
  • Cons: cost

Here is a summary of issues we have had since being signed u

by AtlSales at Citysearch

Here is a summary of issues we have had since being signed up with the services from City Search.

Dishonest about how services are billed.

-I was given a different impression of how the site operates after talking to the citysearch employee for over 2 hours. I was given the impression that the site made income from adds placed by larger companies in the form of banner adds or featured sections. I have been involved with several different sites and they offer free advertisements and paid advertisements if you want a banner or bigger adds.

-Their was about 1-2 hours of conversation before the signup agreement where there was no mention of the service costing anything. Then during the signup process I was abruptly asked for my credit card information and was told the service would be $10/month, which is no problem, "with an investment of $1000/month." That's when I immediately stated that I can't afford this. Instead of looking out for the interest of me the customer, she was more intent on making a sale. She then replied that it is only a limit. She stated that "it is $1000 at a dollar a click, but if 1000 people contact you then it's worth every dollar." This statement would further imply that $1=1 contact. I at this point was under the understanding that the "Click" that was discussed earlier was in reference to clicking the link for contact information.. With this in conjunction of the possible number of people in Portland looking for a makeup artist for a wedding, I was under the impression I would be looking at $20-$50 a month. In actuality the service entails $1 per profile view not a dollar per click. If this was described and explained correctly I would have under no circumstances signed up for City Search. Not only is the explanation blatantly confusing but also borders dishonest. I would like to add that after finding out how services were billed I immediately attempted to terminate the service. Given the circumstances an exception could have been made for an early termination of services.

The profile itself was incomplete and poorly constructed.

-The profile was put together with very little care being a victim of numerous grammatical errors and obvious misspellings. Not only is this unacceptable especially for an add company but makes my business look careless and incompetent.

-Second I was also listed more than once, one of which was under the wrong category. there was one profile listed under Cosmetics which was correct, but another profile listed under Hair Salons. I am not a salon and have nothing to do with hair which should have been pretty apparent during the 2 hour phone conversation with the person signing me up. I signed up for one listing under Cosmetics. This looks like nothing more than a tactic to rack up profile views at a dollar a click especially when comparing the number of people looking for a makeup artist for their wedding with the number of people looking for a place to get their hair cut.

Out of the $1600.00+ that was charged to our business card for the over 1900 clicks we had in that 3 month period we were contacted by a total of 2 people. There is no way that many actual people clicked on that page.

Customer service.

Simply on an added note, In an attempt to sort all of this out, I had my significant other and partner in the business Jonathan call and try to work everything out. The gentlemen that he spoke to in customer service was not only uncompassionate of our situation but also very unprofessional. Very few questions were asked pertaining to how he could help and upon seeing that things were far from getting resolved he asked to speak to a supervisor. He was flat out told no. He than had to pry to find out who he could talk to for help. He then had to ask there isn't any one else to talk to? No supervisor or manager? at that point he was then told after a long pause simply they're in a meeting.

Great Place for a Spa Party

by talyagilmore1920 at Citysearch

On July 11, myself and 7 of my girlfriends had a spa party at this spa. Thanks to Susie Erath, it was a total success. She kept communication with myself and the other members of my party open. She returned emails and phone calls in a timely manner, which I really appreciate. It was an incredible experience. The staff was pleasant. The atmosphere was very relaxing and calming. After each of our treatments, we were treated to Spatinis, which are great, and able to relax and catch up with each other. Thanks Susie for helping me arrange this party. It was great and we will do this again.

  • Pros: The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff was pleasant.
  • Cons: none

Fabulous place for a Ladies Day event!

by staterep at Citysearch

I hosted an event for young elected women from around the country at the Midtown location. I worked with Susie Erath who was awesome. It was her idea to host the half day sessions there. I'm so glad I followed her advice. Everything was PHENOMINAL. I've visited many of the Spa Sydell locations but I must say Midtown is my favorite. The management team is accomodating. Working with Susie was worry free. She handled every detail with precision. All we had to do was walk in. She went beyond the call of duty to host my event and coordinated treatments for 15 women! My guests are STILL talking about it. It was perfect and I can't wait to find another reason to host an event at the Spa. You must have the spatinis. (non alcoholic) drink in a martini glass.

  • Pros: Spatinis, amazing ambiance, and hot stone massage!
  • Cons: room size

Great location for a group event!

by SBTLH at Citysearch

We have been doing our annual client appreciation events at the Spa Sydell Midtown for six years. They have always been great! Our contact there, Susie Erath, is a pleasure to work with. As all event and meeting planners know: flexibility, friendliness and location are of the utmost importance and they have it all. We definitely recommend doing an event there. We will be back!

  • Pros: Helpfull and flaxible staff, large enough for an event
  • Cons: Nothing

Stay Away From this HORRIBLE PLACE

by Jeniffer at Citysearch

The staff starting with the managers are extremely rude instead of relaxing you feel more stressed out than when you arrive at the place. The restrooms are dirty especially the sauna, towels with holes and the showers have mildew. The rooms have dirty carpets with stickyness on it I was so scared to lay down on the therapist bed or table I was afraid i may catch a disease. PEOPLE GO TO NATURAL BODY IT IS A BEAUTIFUL SPA AND MOST OF ALL CLEAN. ALSO FOR WAXING GO TO BRAZILIAN WAX IN BUCKHEAD HALF THE PRICE OF SPA'S IN ATLANTA.

  • Pros: NOTHING
  • Cons: PLACE IF FILTHY AND STAFF IS EXTREMELY RUDE
