I haven't been this excited in a while!

I went with a group of friends to dinner at Dogwood. We were thoroughly impressed from the minute we got there. All of the staff was gracious, accommodating and attentive. Our server was well versed on the menu and offered great suggestions. I had the Fried Chicken breast and greens, I substituted the mac & cheese for asparagus, and had the baby back ribs for a starter. I loved it all. I also heard rave reviews for the Frogmore Stew, a few of the soups and the Salmon and Lamb Chops. I can't wait to take my husband.
- Pros: Staff, Service, and ambiance. Loved everything I tried.
Loved Dogwood!!

My husband and I stayed at the Georgian Terrace Hotel and were so lucky to have decided to dine at Dogwood. Everything was so good! The short ribs and grits were off the chart yummy, so when we won the coin toss for the free appetizers (on Tues and Thurs) I almost felt guilty. Service was fabulous and friendly. We will definitely go back the first chance we get. Food should always be this good!!
- Pros: food, service, location, ambiance, food, food
- Cons: They don't have one in Nashville
try dogwood
by LECS at Citysearch
the owner tries to make everything work - nice ambience. The vodka selection was terrific - lots of flavored and potato vodka. We will go back to try it again.
- Pros: close to the fox, great vodka selection
This was just great!!!!

I no longer give out 5 stars.....nothing really seems to rate anymore. I figure it's because I'm looking for the total dining experience and few restaurant are able to do it all well. That's until I went to Dogwood. I finally found a restaurant that I can't justify giving any less than 5 stars to. On the recommendation of 2 different people we decided to venture out on a very chilly night in ATL. Were we glad we did. The restaurant is nicely appointed and very comfortable even down to the comfy chairs. Perfect place for an intimate dinner or taking some pals for a fun evening out. Food....yummy!!! Everything exactly as it should be. Portions good, creative, taste-it was all there. Wine list excellent and reasonable with good by-the-glass options that paired well with the food. Wait staff, excellent. Kudos to Steven. Look people, all I'm telling you is to give it a try. Please. This is the kind of restaurant that deserves to stick around.
- Pros: Perfect place for any occassion
- Cons: Not one thing
Dogwood's a Keeper!

I get to Midtown every few weeks and Dogwood has become the jumping off point for whatever mischief I am about that evening. Once in the door, you know you are in for a treat. The staff is gracious and formal without being self important or overbearing. They'll get you to your table at whatever pace you choose, be it frenetic or languid, giving you plenty of time to take in the elegant decor and enjoy a chat with the friendly bartenders. The food manages to be modern without every compromising its southern charm and soul. My current personal favorites are the southern fried quail breast and the hearty beef shortrib stew. The winelist is extensive but approachable and there's an interesting mix of specialty drinks on the cocktail menu (Cantaloupe Martini...try it..you will like it). Go on a date, for lunch or go with friends...just go! This place should not be missed by anyone who loves to dine!
- Pros: Ambiance, food, knowledgeable staff.
You must go to this place!

Wow, this place is great! From the moment I walked in, the service was courteous and knowledgable but not over the top to make it stuffy. I have been in a couple times and prefer the bar to the dining room, the bartenders have an excellent knowledge of the menu and especially the wine list. I loved the butter poached lobster grits, and every soup I have had was outstanding. My favorite entrees are the southern comfort glazed pork chop which came with a delicious corn souffle, and the fried chicken breast which is very juicy, and comes with baked mac n cheese as well as the best collards i have ever had. No room for a dessert, but the bartender gave me a sherry that was amazing, i didnt even know i liked sherry! I will be back again and again.
- Pros: Just about everything
- Cons: It was a bit of a hike to the restroom
Fine wine to go with your Fried Chicken and Collared Greens
by IndyG at Citysearch
This is my first time writing a restaurant review but after my experience at Dogwood I felt compelled to share it. I think that it is only a matter of time before Dogwood is commonly mentioned as one of Atlanta's premiere restaurants. While many have tried, there a few places that have successfully made southern food a true fine dining option. But where else can you fine such an extensive wine list to go along with your fried chicken and mac 'n cheese?
Interesting twists to Southern food give the Fox block an appropriate pre-show dining destination.

In Short
There are few settings in Atlanta more romantically Southern than the block on Peachtree that houses the Fox Theatre. So, it's fitting to have a Southern restaurant within walking distance of the historic bright lights that shine. Giant black-and-white photos of the namesake hover above white tablecloths and appropriately fancy stemware. Surprisingly, the menu twists modern aspects around Southern classics, the sort of food that would call out the Colonnade for being old and boring. Grits are served as an appetizer (what?!) with seasonal toppings like fried oysters, pimento cheese and country ham. Fried chicken is replaced by an Asian-inspired poppyseed tempura quail that is both different and delicious. Avoid the house concoction, the Dogwood Cooler, which tastes like a vodka-laced Hi-C Ecto Cooler--cementing the idea that, while fancy, this isn't your grandfather's meat-n-three.
Dogwood

Being a "foodie" I wanted to visit Dogwood since a friend told me about it and raved about their Georgia Trout and grilled pound cake. I made it there this week, and everything from start to finish was excellent. The decor is beautiful (but not over the top), the food was great (definitely try the soup flight and the porkchop!), and everyone was very friendly and efficient. I would also recommend having a drink at the bar...the bartenders were fun and a nice crowd was hanging out when we were there.
Definitely recommend it.
- Pros: everything
There is a new restaurant in Atlanta...and it is AWESOME
by ron4025 at Citysearch
I went to Dogwood after hearing about it from some friends and had a stellar evening. The food, the service and the atmosphere were of the best in town. This new little southern restaurant in midtown is New York elegant. I had the grilled ribs with a peach sauce and sweet potato pancakes and my wife had the trout. We both would happily order the same dishes again. This will be a new watering hole for us...at least until the rest of Atlanta finds out about it.
- Pros: It is a great restaurant
- Cons: none
