Great Service!
by CSMobileUser2 at Citysearch
When I first visited this place in April I was ill prepared for the circus freak servers that approached my table. What a difference a few months make. We dined at thw Holy Taco for a benefit in support of an abused dog. Our server, Craig, was marvelous. In addition to Craig, the 3 other servers that worked that evening worked as a team and answered the numerous questions we had about the menu. On the way out, we stopped by the bar and outside of the unattentive bartender, the other bartender, Jason was simply dazzling. If you are seeking authentic Latin food and great service from an attractive staff, you'll find it at the Holy Taco, Atlanta's hidden culinary gem!

I have been to Holy Taco several times and I have loved this place. In the past, the food was awesome - completely unlike anything I could find in the city. It was a unique dining experience for which I enjoyed making the trip. However, tonight my experience and the food changed everything. I'm not sure if the chef has changed or if there is a new management team in business, but I had an awful experience. The hostess seated 2 couples infront of us (we were only a party of 2), the guacamole was terribly over spiced, I was served something that I did not order, and I was charged for an organic margarita even though I was served a house one. Our waitress was anything but professional and she made us feel awkward when we questioned our order. We will try Holy Taco again because of our positive experiences in the past, however it will only be one more try. This restaurant (sadly) is not as good as it once was.
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Don't bother.

The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. In addition, I am still suffering from stomach issues after eating dinner there last night. The drinks are very overpriced for the small size and amount of alcohol in them. The chips were over cooked and you had to pay for the salsa to come along with them. The guacamole was average, but a bit bland except for an excessive onion flavor to it. The taco I got was tiny and the meat and sauce was extremely bland so that the primary flavor coming through was the cheese. The side of black beans were so salty that I could only eat half of them. For about $20 I got aq weak margarita, a tiny taco and a side of almost inedible black beans. It was the worst $20 I have spent on food in a very long time. I would suggest avoiding this place.
- Pros: Atmosphere
- Cons: Food, Drinks, Prices, Resulting stomach ache
Very good! Excellent prices

Love the food. My faves were: shrimp torta, chile rellenos, shrimp salad and organic margaritas
Charging for salsa? No me gusta!
by helloatlanta at Citysearch
The food at Holy Taco is alright, but them charging for each thimblefull of salsa you are given is ridiculous. Ya'll, tomatoes ain't that expensive! I wore my best bulletproof vest to East Atlanta and this is how you treat me?
- Pros: Good patio, pretty good food and beer selection
- Cons: Charging for each ramekin of salsa
awesome local bar

I love Holy Taco. EAV has 3 Mexican restaurants and this is by far my favorite. The Pork Tortas are the best, but everything I've had there is awesome. The salsa is a little pricey but it is fresh. Go with the Veggie Taco instead of ordering the rice and bean separately, it's cheaper and better!
- Pros: fresh food, nice patio, inside is non-smoking
- Cons: can be expensive for mexican
Awesome mojitos & Margaritas
by 52179apb at Citysearch
We just moved to the area and were looking for a place with good mojitos and margaritas. Although the drinks were small, they were very strong and tasty! The homemade chips were very yummy! This will definitely be a spot we visit frequently.
Yum-O Mexican In East Atlanta Village!
by jaymaygm at Citysearch
EAV scores again, with this ultra-cool Mexican joint, with one great patio. And the prices are too good. What a good change from all the frou-frou cantina's around the city. We started with two terrific organic Margarita's, and some wonderful Spanish Style Gazpacho. And another one of those Margarita's. We both had to get a Grilled Shrimp Torta, which was out of this world. And Grilled Corn on The Cob w/White Mexican Cheese. This place is worth a drive from Buckhead anytime, and the this time of year, dining alfresco is pure heaven. And the service, with-out Buckhead attitude, was right on.
- Pros: All Fresh Organic Ingredients & Margarita's Also! Great Prices! Wonderful Patio!
- Cons: It's Not Near Our House, But Well Worth The Drive!
Holy Taco one-ups the EAV Mexican competition with a charismatic menu and one of the best patios on the east side.

In Short
The sleekly designed digs look like Chipotle on a padded budget--uncharacteristic for the 'hood but cool all the same. Giant glass garage doors open up to a modern and spacious outdoor patio framed by light boxes. The menu is what you'd expect from an established chef, peppering taco-stand staples with a little pizzazz. Skip the uber-fried and surprisingly bland chips-and-salsa pairing, and opt for one of their tortas, a Mexican sandwich stuffed and served on a near-perfect roll from Alon's Bakery. Tacos are standard fare at standard price, but the roasted corn on the cobb, draped in white Mexican cheese, shines. Although it's not EVA's go-to genre--burgers and beer--this cantina has comfortable classic writen all over it.
Organic food and an open airy patio great for after work.

Organic, free range, antibiotic free food has never been this delicious or this inexpensive. Local producers help to keep only the freshest of food coming out plate after plate. With a lively patio and cool causal interior, Holy Taco is truly heaven sent. Not JUST a Mexican restaurant, this Latin themed casual restaurant is a convenient spot to drop into after work with friends and enjoy an evening of great food and drinks.
The chicharrones de pollo are an amazing starter coupled with the tortas (beef brisket) for dinner. Try the homemade organic margarita--you won't be disappointed. There is no question that this will be one of my regular meeting stops with friends.
- Pros: Organic, free range meats sourced from local producers
- Cons: None.
