by happygolucky79 at Citysearch
I enjoy ordering breakfast on the weekends, but sometimes the potatoes are stale and vinegary... the biscuits can be hard and the bacon was sparse... But when its good, its great and delicious... just need to be more consistent, but ill still order... i have faith!!!

Great Brunch hot spot
by KeithKNOWS at Citysearch
Looking for another Brunch/Breakfast option, you must go and checkout Parish foods and goods, it’s a quaint, cute, New Orleans styled, restaurant. Upstairs is cozy, beautifully decorated, downstairs, a market/deli and outdoor seating. My dining guest and I decided to avoid the long lines at some of our favorite breakfast spots(no names mentioned) and try something brand new.(well, new to us) Parish is tucked away in my favorite and former neighborhood, Inman Park. We decided on brunch, I had “Bella’s Omelette” stuffed with mushrooms, spinach, sharp cheddar, on the side…ummm…. ummm, good, grits(I was pleasantly surprised, I don’t usually eat grits, these were buttery, creamy, delicious) my dining guest agreed. My dining guest, feasted on “Eggs Boudreaux”, Louisiana crab cake, egg, andouille sausage, spiked creole sauce, with a side of pontalba hash(potatoes), which we both thought was not very tasty. All guests receive complimentary beignets, now those were so good, we ate too many.(LOL) Be sure to checkout the market filled with Serenbe Farms goodies.(Serenbe Farms is a local farm and community that focuses on going green and organic farming, living) Bring your laptop with you there’s free wi-fi, sit outdoors, relax, chill, grab a bite to eat.
Call me, I’ll meet you there! (reviewed, Oct 4, 09)
- Pros: Great beignets, excellent customer service

Just why can people get away with this slow service and poor quality at such high prices in this economy?
I will not go back. Guess they don't care based on all of the poor reviews and yet the place is still busy. Sad that Atlanta is such a superficial spot. I am from Boston and Ny , where food rules, not pretense.
Please find me some great local places with good food, reasonable prices and service. Not interested in the take a number or the high end, something fun in the middle to go to a few times a week.
- Pros: location, drinks
- Cons: service, food
Great Food, Terrible Service
by SMoccia at Citysearch
Like many other reviewers, we were sorely disappointed with the service. The food was great, except our dinner arrived a bit on the cool side (not fresh, piping hot like you'd expect). We suspect the food sat waiting for the servers to bring them to the table. Lighting was poor, and our server was rude. The chef did come apologize for the cold food, and offered us desert on the house. But when we got our bill, we had been charged for the deserts. We are not likely to go back - despite the great market and food.
Food fine, service awful.

I've often had slow or aloof service at Parish, and though the food is acceptable, I've really gone for the ambiance and the cocktails. I won't be returning soon though--this past time the service was downright unprofessional. I was asked to pay for something in the market that broke--I felt it wasn't my fault, because they had them displayed in a precarious way, and I said I didn't want to pay. It was only a $6 item, but it was the principle of the matter. Went outside to wait for some friends, and when we returned to the counter to order, the server was complaining loudly about us to her fellow staff, right out in the open. She had her back to us, and when she turned around I confronted her about it. She claimed she wasn't complaining, just discussing, but that was obviously not true.
It may be that she disagreed with my stance, but she didn't say anything about it at the time. I said I wouldn't pay for it, and she just went ahead and rung us up with the added $6. Even if she wanted to complain, she surely should have saved it for the back room. It was rude and offensive, but also stupid.
I can't say I ate at Parish regularly before--I've been there maybe 9 or 10 times since they opened. But I'll surely never step foot there again. I wonder if the loss in business was worth the $6?
- Pros: Ambiance
- Cons: Service awful, food overpriced
Interesting Dishes, Pleased overall
by CbgetwnGrl at Citysearch
The market-style atmosphere was fun and comforting. I ordered a vegetable plate that was an interesting mix of vegetables but they still worked very well together. I am vegetarian and wished there would have been a couple more options but was pleased with the food I received. The service was great as well. Our server was very friendly and accommodating without frequent interference. Overall, I was satisfied with my experience and pleased with the food, but not completely blown away.
- Pros: Food, atmosphere, service
- Cons: Limited vegetarian selection
Great food. Slow service
by atlgator75 at Citysearch
I visited Parish with my wife and both of us had excellent entrees. I had the Mississippi Stuffed Catfish and it was fantastic. Our service was less than desirable. It seems the wait staff is serving various tables throughout the large indoor/outdoor restaurant instead of having areas. That led to us getting attention every once in a while. They definitely need to zone off their service so areas aren't neglected for long durations. I would go back for the food but if the service was poor again I'm not sure....
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Slow service
Great experience at Parish
by kjones71 at Citysearch
I enjoyed my latest experience sunning and people watching on the side patio while taking advantage of the raw bar and sipping cava. Seems that Parish has a new executive chef and he's making waves in the kitchen. His pan seared Mahi over a spring veggie panzanella was so fresh and delicious.
Great Expections... Poor Execution

I am not one to generally write a restaurant review. However, I am a seasoned traveler and experienced some of the best dishes in the world which of course includes New Orleans.
Overall the restaurant has a pleasant interior but is so poorly lit that it is difficult to read the wine list and totally make out your food. Our waitress was a bit on the rude side and only introduced herself at least 30 minutes into the meal.
I knew it was trouble when on a Thursday evening there were only three other tables. We started our meal with the recommendation of the Bar-b-q shrimp. Nice presentation however the actual dish was extremely lack luster. The dish had no real kick of spices and lacked any zest of citrus to bring it all together.
For our main courses we had the braised short rib and the seared cod. I was somewhat shocked with the lack of true New Orleans style dishes. The sort rib was average however the portion seemed small and the meat could of been much more tender. The Cod was nicely seared but seamed a little on the tired side with a small hint of a fishy smell.
I don't know if this is another one of these restaurants where a chief comes in and creates the menu and splits or not. But save your time, money, and experience for someplace worth going.
