Best Persian Food, Best Kabob, Hookah & Belly Dancing
by Nancy2009
This is the best Persian Food, weekly lunch buffet is amazing, with several different kinds of kabob, and appetizers. Friday and Saturday Night they have Belly Dancing!
Greate for parties and large events. Excellent Service and Very Friendly!
Horrible Customer Service
by DanesS
I dined at this restaurant with my boyfriend for the first time on the night of October 11,2008. My boyfriend and I are both of Persian backgrounds, so we were quite familiar with the dishes served. We had Kabob-e-Khubideh and Kabob-e-Soltani. Both beef kabob dishes that were very palatable; the prices for the dishes were reasonable. However, the service was absolutely horrible. Basically, our waiter came to our table 3 times: to place our orders, serve the food, and bring the check. Our drinks were never refilled. We had to wait for a long time for our food to be brought out, and when we asked to have a hookah, we were rudely denied. The waiter promptly asked for ID. He went away for a couple of minutes with my boyfriend's ID and then came back denying our request for a hookah claiming that the federal law requires you to be "20 and older to smoke hookah." My boyfriend is 18 and I'm 20. When we asked which law he was taking about because federal and state laws for purchasing tobacco products is 18, therein making it legal for my boyfriend to smoke hookah, he mumbled something and quickly went off never coming back except when we had to flag him down for our check. We still wanted a hookah, so we had to flag down another waiter because ours was nowhere in sight. The other waiter checked our IDs and brought our hookahs without any problem. Overall this experience was quite unpleasant, and I was very disappointed at the low quality of service we had. If I had the option of going to this restaurant again, I definitely would not unless management decided to revamp its employees.
- Pros: Ambience, Parking
- Cons: Service
Completely Unsuitable for a Large Event
by lisabanov
We had a 50 person office party at Darvish and had in writing a complete menu including Rac of Lamb, fish, beef filet, appetizers on the table upon arrival, and many other details. When we arrived there was no food on the tables (which were unnecessarily crammed in the middle of the room) and not much materialized the entire evening. Instead of food continuously arriving at the table as Alex had promised, after an excrutiating wait, the large group was invited to stand in line for a disappointing buffet lacking lamb, fish, and many other details promised. The group evacuated earlier than any office party I have thrown in my 10 years + of planning. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS PLACE FOR A LARGE AFFAIR! They are completely unprepared and undependable for such an event.
we got our money's worth......great food, great atmosphere, good people.....

we were cordially welcomed at the door and immediately seated. The service was excellent. This place was cozey and romantic. Everyone was very nice to us. I had the rackof lamb kabob which was the best I had ever had anywhere. They bake fresh bread right in front of you and it is delicious. The wine selection was short but my wine was great. They are going to do full liqour the manager said in a few weeks. Belly dancers kept us entertained and I am happy To have spent my money there. The dessert and the hookah topped the night for us. We danced laughed, enjoyed ourselves and will absolutely go back there again. I hate to go somewhere and spend a couple of hundred dollars and at the end feel like I didn't get my money's worth. At Darvish, I felt that I got every penny back and then some.....
- Pros: something different than an ordinary weekend.....belly dancers, sit on beds, hookah, etc
- Cons: full liqour which they promissed to have in a few weeks.....
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience - belly dancer and dinner
by proessentials
The ambiance was great with the belly dancer entertainment. I had the Chicken Barg and enjoyed eating a cuisine I have not tried before. Darvish The Persian Tea House is a great place to dine and entertain. I did not try the hookah, but it did look quite interesting. I had an opportunity to ask questions of other guests who totally enjoyed the hookah flavored tobacco water pipe. I'll have to try it soon. Go and enjoy!
- Pros: Great music and entertainment
