You Can Do Better!
by Uzma at Citysearch
The first words that come to mind about the salesperson are: pushy, inexperienced, and sort of man-bitchy towards the end. We spent roughly an hour or two looking for different bands, and eventually found one we really liked. But when it came to picking a diamond to go with the band, we found that the gentleman we were working with either did not know much about diamonds, or was trying to hide the lower quality of their selection.
Since we have visited other, higher rated jewelers, my fiance and I have a better understanding of what a quality diamond is and how much they should cost. What we found from D. Gellar was that the salesperson was trying very hard to sell us a lower quality, uncertified diamond by saying it "looked better" than the higher quality, certified diamonds. From what we have seen at other jewelers, their GIA/AGI certified diamonds are half the price of the D Gellar and Sons uncertified diamonds (of the same grade). We found this rather fishy.
Although we tried to make it perfectly clear that we were not going to make a purchase the same day and that we needed time to make a decision, the salesperson kept pushing us to buy the same day. He kept leaving, coming back and giving us a different price each time, finally even telling us he would give us the band for free if we bought the diamond from them. Again, although financially it was a great deal, his desperation and pushiness in trying to sell us the diamond/ring really turned us off and made us question his motives.
In the end although we loved the band we saw, the seemingly low quality of their diamonds and the stressful situation the salesperson put us through ended the deal for us. Not recommended.
If you are serious about finding a quality diamond for an affordable price and working with professional diamond experts, go to Solomon Brothers or Rixom.
- Pros: Nice selection of bands
- Cons: Diamond quality is questionable
Exceeded ALL Expectations!
by tbennett55 at Citysearch
Staff was very professional, extremely knowledgeable and their personal commitment to me from start to finish was 100% authentic (especially Heather:)! Prior to visiting D. Geller, I had been to them all (i.e. Shane Company, Solomon Brothers, etc.) and I was beginning to think that finding "that perfect" engagement ring was going to be utterly impossible as nobody really cared to listen to what I really wanted in a ring as they seemed to be working off a hidden agenda and steering me into only certain sections of their stores. However, as the title of this review declares, D. Geller exceeded all expectations and I actually found that "perfect" engagement ring within 10 minutes of walking through the door. Thank you very much Heather and the D. Geller family as you've definitely earned my trust, respect and ALL of my family's business moving forward.
D.Geller and Son

We at D.Geller and Son have always tried to provide the highest level of customer
service. We are a 70 year old business that is family owned and operated and we do not
condone or tolerate such actions from our staff. In my initial, but thorough
investigation I can find no member of management or staff that has been advised or has
any knowledge of this incident. We take this very seriously and will continue to look at
all aspects of this situation to make sure this is a customer and not the work of a
competitor. Please contact Lee at 770-955-5995 with further questions.
Shane Co. Lost a Customer!!!!!
by Davyjones at Citysearch
I was a repeat customer of Shane Co. and my wife wanted a Tanzanite ring for our anniversary. I went to Shane and they tried to talk me out of it. I didn't want a sapphire-my wife wanted a TANZANITE! Anyway I went to Geller on Pleasant Hill road and I met a Gemologist named Deena who said not only could she get any size that I wanted, but she could custom make a setting for it as well. The ring was beautiful, my wife was happy, and I will now always shop with Deena. Shane co lost a $8000 sale. By the way eat at Haru Ichiban while you while for your stuff. It is in the same shopping center and has the best sushi!
- Pros: GIA apprasial with purchase, got to pick out my own loose stone, close to sushi
- Cons: Not fancy, so maybe not a con?
Best deals and most knowledge

I just went to D. Geller to update my solitaire setting and had the pleasure of having Heather K. help me. She was fantastic! She really knew her stuff. Not only did she point me in the right direction (after really listening to what I wanted) but she showed me almost every setting in the store and she always had a smile on her face. I ended up getting a great piece that will last me forever and I will be back to shop again and again!
- Pros: Great prices and selection
- Cons: none after they opened 2 more locations (Kennesaw & Gwinnett)
Great service & Great Value
by golfer72 at Citysearch
I recently needed a necklace extended which involved custom work. Since I buy all of my jewelry at D. Geller that's where I went. I always ask for Heather because she is so friendly and knowledgeablle. She always helps me out, whether it's to buy jewelry, fix jewelry, clean my jewelry or just show me what's new. If I want something and they don't have it, she finds it for me - whether calling vendors or looking thru catalogs. I have been buying there for years for the service and price. You can't beat their prices and the quality is great.
- Pros: Price - Value - Selection - Service
Best bottom line prices, you just have to ask!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went in for their $3995 two carat special and I am young and didn't want to spend 4k but my hunny wanted a 2kt. She also wanted a square cut. Well the sales lady, I think her name was Deanna, was really nice and paid attention to me (that didn't happen at Jarrods). Well she found me a 1.72 ct. square cut for 2500! All the other places were at like 5k for the same thing. Anyway they let my dad finance it for me, so I have a year to pay it back to my old man. My lady loved it, all her gf's were like how did you do THAT!!!
Great customer service

Earlier this year, my mother got really sick and money was very tight. All that she said that she wanted was some sapphire earrings to match a ring that she previously had. I went to D. Gellar and Heather helped me out. She was great!! She was able to find a pair of sapphires that were the perfect blue color. She got them mounted and I was able to take them home that day. Thank you for the great service!!
- Pros: level of personal care
- Cons: no music while waiting (too quiet)
Creative service

My husband commissioned a specialty piece for me for Christmas. The designer (Jennifer) listened carefully to my ideas and then drew up a couple of thumbnail ideas as we spoke.
I gave her a basic idea and some parameters for price and the kinds of stones and she made a beautiful, one-of-a-kind birthstone necklace.
I am very pleased with the craftsmanship and I love my necklace. I would definately use them for custom work again.
- Pros: Jeweler knew what she was doing, she was easy to relate to
- Cons: Not crazy about the location, but worth checking out
Excellent Jewelry Purchase Experience
by pidana at Citysearch
After shopping around at many different jewelry stores, and being told many different things, I finally found a great value at D. Geller. My shopping experience with Heather K. was the best hour that I spent during my engagement diamond shopping experience. I would recommend this D.Geller to anyone who is looking to purchase a diamond (or any other jewelry) anytime soon!
- Pros: Customer Shopping Experience and Knowledgable Associates
- Cons: In a strip mall
