Wonderful neighborhood hangout!!!

I adore the Irwin Street Market! It is so cozy, with sunny side rooms and plenty of chairs and couches. You can grab a fresh salad from Jake's or a cupcake from Sweet Pockets and hang out for hours using their free wireless internet. Smell hand-made lotions and soaps, look at beautiful art and flowers, listen to the bustle. If this place had a bar, I would be there every weekend.

• Pros: Friendly merchants, neighborhood vibe
• Cons: Small parking lot, but plenty of street parking

Get lost for an afternoon wandering the stalls at this funky urban market.

With its ramshackle looks and offbeat collection of wares, Irwin Street Market is a perfect fit for its location in the up-and-coming Old Fourth Ward. Shoppers browsing the stalls can pick up jasmine blossom tea from Just Add Honey, fresh flowers from Flower Bar, hand-milled soaps from Sally B's, cupcakes from Sweet Pockets, and gourmet picnic baskets from Picnic. Before leaving, be sure to stop for a sandwich from Jake's or Cuzine Chefs. It's a veritable feast for the senses.
