This boot camp will wear you out, but it is really great. They work with you and if you can't keep up, it is still ok. I have tried others but this is the best.

I spent $2800 over three months on a personal trainer, but got much better results with 2 back-to-back boot camp sessions. Very professional, but also a lot of fun - they are serious helping you reach your goals, but they don't take themselves too seriously. I was impressed that they were able to accommodate older and slower (ok, I admit it, pretty overweight too) folks like myself, while seemingly killing the people that thought they were already in good shape.

Pros: Nice people that really care, multiple fitness levels accomodated, top-notch program

Cons: Only offered at select times of day.

I love Operation Boot Camp! The instructors are fun and passionate. I have always been a confident person but Operation Boot Camp unlocked a level of confidence and positive self talk that I could have never imagined. They always pushed me kindly but gently, out of my comfort zone. I feel like I have developed habits that will keep me healthy for a lifetime.

Pros: fun, social, great workout, great results, compassionate

Cons: all my friends started calling me bootylicious

I had some serious self-doubt when my friends convinced me to sign up for a boot camp program, but I made it! The workouts are always different and fun, and the instructors somehow kept my mind off the workout so time went by quickly. I haven't done another diet or fitness plan that produced results as quickly as this, and I plan on coming back periodically to keep my workout routine fresh. I took over two minutes off my mile time, and lost over 8 pounds - not bad for 30 days! I would recommend this to almost anyone (unless you have bad knees or something like that). Great experience overall.

Pros: Better results than anything I've tried before.

Cons: Took a while to enjoy early morning workouts, though now I love them!

I was disappointed with the interaction between instructors and campers. It ended up making for a very impersonal experience. Pros: outside enjoying peidmont park Cons: classes too large for individual attention, questionable business practices.

If this boot camp can get my scrawny, surly rear into shape it can work for anyone. I have taken a few sessions of Operation Boot Camp now, and (it feels like) all of the sudden I can run for miles (yes, plural) without difficulty, when I used to think my “weak” ankles made it too hard to even run short distances. For the first time since high school I have muscle tone again. My former pancake butt is now round and perky (yay!) and my stomach muscles stay tight without conscious effort. The instructors and participants are actually fun people to spend 45 minutes in the morning with. You have a large enough group to not feel “exposed” I guess would be the word, but it’s contained enough that everyone knows your name and you don’t feel like cattle. You get a serious workout but no one takes themselves seriously so even when I was a beginner I didn’t feel intimidated. My first month I got incredible results which is why I’ve stuck with it. I’ve also taken full advantage of the included classes at Atlanta Kick (Kickboxing and Karate are great stress relief after a cruddy day at work.) Since I take the morning session it let me change my lifestyle to one that includes fitness without having to give up time previously spent on other things that are important to me, like sitting around in sweatpants in front of the TV guilt free after a long day work if I am so inclined. Yep, I think that’s the best part. =)

Pros: the park, doesn't interrupt my routine, great results, good people, diverse group

Cons: people are now intimidated by my hotness, and sometimes I want to sleep in

These guys are the original boot camp in Atlanta, and have several locations. They limit their groups to 35 people, unlike other camps that just pack them in. Instructor to student ratio is very favorable, somtimes 1 instructor per 4 participants. I did the camp back in 2001, again in 2003, and three times since. They are great with beginners, and also challenge fit people. They have an atmosphere where everyone is made to feel comfortable and they treat everyone with respect. Most of the other boot camps around town were started by former instructors and students from this organization. Boot camp programs can be expensive, and this one is no exception -- but the results are better than a personal trainer that costs much more. Buying a cheaper program may give you poor results.

Pros: Great results, nice people, they are firm while being nice and helpful.

Cons: You can get dirty during the workouts, and they expect you to show up
