We had reservations for 8 at 12:30 and were seated promptly. We had a variety from the menu. Comments from the group were: sushi was a bit warm, the creamy onion soup (amazing presentation) as well as the Chipotle Corn Chowder received excellent reviews. The chicken sandwich also received nods from the 3 people who enjoyed it for lunch. The grouper sandwich and potato salad were excellent. I had the Mac & Cheese as recommended by the AJC. The pasta was not a mushy mess but the country ham was thin sliced, cut up like lunch meat and thrown in. It needs to be paired with a salad or something crunchy as it is a little light on texture. Service was okay but nothing to write home about and the restaurant was not extremely busy. The overall atmosphere was good and upbeat for a lunch. We didn't try any of the desserts because the menu was pretty lackluster (only 4 choices-creme brule, chocolate, pumpkin pie and apple fritter) but I guess most folks aren't there for the desserts. The overall price was about $120 for our group of 8 so it was a decent value for a birthday lunch.

Pros: Good vibe for lunch, overall food was tasty

Cons: Parking was difficult to find

Went to Thrive on the suggestion of our hotel concierge. Seated with a friend at a bar-area table...little did I know the crowd that would descend on Thrive within a few short minutes. Despite the bursting crowds, the waitresses maintained very patient and friendly attitudes. Our waitress was absolutely gorgeous, and had the personality to match (I just love being called "sweetie" by someone 20 years my junior). She seemed genuinely surprised at courtesy by a customer and thanked us for that. As the crowds ballooned (The Police were playing across the street a Phillips Arena that night as it turned out), it became apparent why. Most of the clients were quite self-absorbed and pretty rude to the servers. The wait for food was pretty long and our appetizer arrived AFTER our meal but it was delivered apologetically by our server. The "signature onion soup served in an actual onion bowl" was quite unimpressive - too salty and way not worth the price - but we loved our gourmet burgers. I'm a bit of a calamari snob - and theirs was surprisingly delicious. Tea was served iceless most of the time but despite the crowds, requests for extra ice were answered quickly. I'd like to try Thrive when there's not an "event" at Philips to get a better gauge on their speed and accuracy of service. But the quality of servers was wonderful. Food was above average, tasty and very unique in variety. Didn't drink but I did see some of the most unique cocktails I've ever seen. I'll go back, probably in two days after Sting and Co. roll out of town. I'd like to give this beautiful, eclectic, friendly restaurant one more try before heading back to Dallas.

Pros: Waitresses, friendly hostess, entrees and appetizers

Cons: A bit overwhelmed by a large crowd, yuppie clientele is more annoying than staff

There are many yummy food options including sushi. The martini list is great! The staff is quick to seat you and get your experience started. The atmosphere is modern and clean. I love watching the street traffic. The happy hours are good. The parking is so easy especially if it is raining - covered parking deck. The location is good & the area needed a place like this. Keep it up!!

Pros: service, drink/menu options, parking

Cons: can't think of one...

I passed by this place about a thousand times throughout the past few months in and out of my office and going into the bldg where 107.9 is and thought cool it looks like a miami kinda restaurant i should check it out sometime; never actually got around to it until 2 days ago when my partner and I thought it may be cool to have an album listening party event there. Well, i made a phone call and spoke with a very nice young woman who handles events and she stated how she would love for us to come down and consider the restaurant but I should contact the manager as well. Well the manager is A.D. Allushi whom i sent email 1 with a receipt request to ...he deleted that email. i sent email 2 he deleted that one, i followed up with a phone call yesterday he stepped out to the store...and today i called again and he stepped out to the store again so i emailed immediately after the phone call demanding him not to delete the 3rd email as I am a potential customer and if he deletes this email i will contact everyone i know to tell them not to visit his restaurant because he ignores and disregards customers. He emailed back within 5 mins (remember this was after i was told he stepped out to the store 5 mins earlier but he's online deleting my emails must be superman) asking how he can assist me...i explained how I wanted to have a small listening party and he was instantly rude and obnoxious and basically told me that the restaurant was a FINE DINING restaurant and music or entertainment is not allowed! and to find another venue their venue was not right my event....You're Dang right it isn't i told him FINE DINING with a LIVE DJ SPINNING COME ON!....DO NOT GO HERE THEY'RE RUDE AND NASTY and Very JUDGEMENTAL and PREJUDICED I WONDERED IF IT WAS MY NAME THAT MADE HIM FEEL THAT I WASN'T APPROPRIATE FOR HIS RESTAURANT...ETHNIC PEOPLE BEWARE OF THIS PLACE....

My complete party arrived at 6:50 for a 7:00 reservation. The hostess told me "It'll be a while before I can seat you." I asked "What's a while, because we're trying to get to Philips around 8:00?" She said about 10 minutes. 20 minutes later, I had to go back and ask her the status of our seating. That's when she said, casually, "Oh, it'll be at least another 30 minutes." At that point I was livid, but it only got worse when she went on to explain "You see, everyone was late for their 5:30 and 6:00 reservations, so it ended up pushing everyone's reservations back." She said this as if I was supposed to be at ease with Thrive's complete inability to understand the POINT of making a reservation. To make matters worse, management was at best disinterested in our predicament, and at worse downright rude. I had to wait for 15 minutes to talk to the manager while she ran several errands around the restaurant and then told me that her "hands were tied". I'm not sure how a restaurant in such close proximity to Philips Arena expects to serve a crowd when they clearly can't understand the meaning of a reservation. The fact that the manager didn't understand our frustration in having to find the hostess to be updated on the status of seating, (instead of the hostess finding us) was quite ridiculous. I'll never go back. Concert or no concert. I'd suggest that anyone who cares about a restaurant honoring reservations or getting to a concert on time, not go to this place either. It was thoroughly disappointing.

Cons: Poor Service, doesn't honor reservations

I dine in cities around the world and this experience was one of the worst I have ever had. Service was minimally acceptable. Food and drinks were late and drinks were spilled on our table not once but twice with no response from the management. When the management was confronted about the situation we were told that there was nothing they would do to resolve the situation. Completely unacceptable and I will never return nor recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Cons: OWNER/Management

This is the first time that I have ever had an experience that has warranted a response on this website or any website for that matter. We had a group of 8 for dinner at Thrive with reservations at 8PM. We were seated promptly. That was the only part of our experience that was pleasurable. Although the staff was friendly,,, one problem was followed by another. After waiting 20 minutes for our first round of drinks, they were spilled on us and our phones. No response or ackknowledgement from the management. We cleaned the mess up ourselves and waited another 20 minutes for the replacement round of drinks. The second round of drinks. were brought to the table and dropped behind us on the floor. The manager looked at the mess and walked around the restaurant 3 times to find someone to clean it up as opposed to grabbing a broom and cleaning it up himself. We waited at least 20 minutes for every round of drinks. My phone from the first spill was ruined and I was still waiting on management to address the situation. The ultimate response was that I could leave a business card and they would see what there insurance company could do. The manager never came to the table. I asked for the owner and the server pointed me to the host stand. I wenT to talk to him and he was just as unhelpful,,,, acknowledging that he needed to talk to his manager but never once apologizing to the table for what had happened. Hours later, our food was delivered and it was so-so. At that point our party was ready to go. Needless to say i was shocked after such a disappointing experience when the bill was delivered to the tune of $400. There was no effort on behalf of the restaurant's management to make our party feel better about the awful dining experience. We will NOT be back and would advise anyone to think twice before walking into Thrive.

Pros: none

Cons: many, read above

Tried it for Restaurant week. The meal was amazing! We had the salmon and pork chops. Both were juicy in the inside and flavorful and crisp on the outside. The arugala salad, top notch as well. We will be back, and recommend it to all to try. For those who like a quiet meal, not the place for you; they have club music going non-stop. Also, not so family friendly, more after-work and trendy.

Pros: great food, good service

Cons: music a little loud, but part of their atmosphere

It took forever to get our lukewarm food, . Sushi was ok but didnt overcome all the other laundry list of shortconings. Our server was barely present and couldnt answer any of our questions.Drinks took way too long as well despite the place not being thoughly packed. What a waste of time and money. Never again, We are a forgiving bunch but overall effort on the part of the staff here is non existent. We dine out often and were very unhappy. Whatever patience we had hoping our time would turn out positive was drained. BAD BAD BAD
