The restaurant is crowded, but the food is good. The outdoor seating area is very nice. There is not much else but steak on the menu, though.

Go here and enjoy everything this place has to offer. The food, the service, the drinks, the wine, the decor, the restrooms, should i keep going. If your looking for a steak to freak your mind try the bone-in ribeye, or may I suggest the filet for those who enjoy a leaner cut of meat. I have had them all and none of them disappoint. The sides, although a little smal, are also stellar. Like my title says, Eat here if you want the best.
Pros: everything is everthing
Cons: closed on Sundays

I think this was one of the best steaks I've head. Price and quality are similar to Ruth Chris. I am not sure which was better. The bartender made a great lemon drop martini. The filet mignon was so tender it was unbelievable. I'd definitely go back.
Pros: Nice servers, Kevin is present, steak
Cons: dark lighting, service is a bit slow

The place is way too dark. We had to hold the menu to the candle and while the food was great, we couldnt see it. I am used to loud restaurants, but the "mood" lights reminded me of a campfire meal rather than a $100/plate restaurant. The automatic 20% tip for a party of 6 was a bit much too. Would I go back? No. I am sure the moths will go to the flame. The Rathbun chain has made a fortune with hip vs quality. If you want a great steak and service worth $20-40/person... go to Chops. Better food too. If you enjoy telling friends where you have been... go to Rathbuns (either one). Too dark + too crowded + too noisy + average food + average wait staff = Overrated. Too many strikes against for that price.
Pros: You can tell your friends you went
Cons: Too dark

My favorite restaurant in Atlanta! I've been here 3 or 4 times recently and wish I could afford to go every night. Every meal has been perfect from start to finish. The wine list has many great offerings, the atmosphere is elegant, the service is great and the food...the food is simply incredible. My favorites are the crab casserole, the lobster fritters, the zucchini picata, the scalloped sweet potatoes and the bone in ribeye. And I loooooove the truffle butter and have to have a side of garlic butter too. These butters catapult a perfect steak into the next stratosphere of insane deliciousness. T his restaurant is tops!

I have tried out the restaurant twice. Both times EVERY dish was heavily salted. The restaurant was very noisy and crowded. I will avoid the steakhouse and stick with plaind old Rathbuns
Pros: name
Cons: food, price

Rathbun's was my favorite restaurant in Atlanta but now I am torn! I took my father and fiance to Rathbun Steak and we all enjoyed it. Quite surprisingly, one of our appetizers and one of our sides was overcooked but the steaks were cooked to order and were just right. We sat in the wine cellar (by chance) and after seeing how busy things were upstairs and noticing that the atmosphere was a bit tight and noisy, we were happy to be downstairs in the tranquility and ambiance of the cellar. Our service was fairly good. We weren't rushed but at the same time, we weren't checked on as timely as we would have preferred once food had delivered to the table. The steak is the star here and the sides you can get such as the garlic butter or truffle butter are a must. They bring the steak from perfection to out of this world. Worth the visit...at least once! And then you can always go back to Rathbun's down the street for more variety if you too are "torn"...
Pros: The Steak! You know you will have a great meal!
Cons: Noisy upstairs, have to make a reservation well in advance, pricey

When we made our reservation (party of 4) we were told that we could either sit in the Wine cellar (downstairs) at 8:00 or in the main dining room at 9:30. We went with the main dining room option at 9:30 since this was going to be our first time at the restaurant. We got there early and had a drink at the bar. We were disappointed when they seated us downstairs in the wine cellar at 9:45. We told the hostess that we specifically made our reservation for the main dining room and she rudely said that there was not anything available and told us to enjoy our meal and walked away. We could not believe how rude she was. By the time we got around to talking to a manager our server had already come to the table and was very friendly so we decided to stay at the table instead of moving to another table in the main dining room. Overall, the food was good and the server was great. We just got off to a bad start with the hostess and it kind of ruined the experience.
Pros: good food and ambience
Cons: did not honor reservation as promised

I know that the lines are blurred between fancy and standard places now - after all you don't have to dress up anymore to go somewhere nice and expensive like Rathbun's Steak. However, I still expect a better level of service at a place that charges $100 for a meal than one that charges $20. I just went to Kevin's Steak place for my birthday dinner and was pretty disappointed. Let me say that the steak itself was great - even though the medium rare and medium well orders were switched for me and my husband. We ordered different sides, which were okay, but not stellar. The brussel sprouts were way too sweet and the portobello mushroom fries were way too under seasoned. My main concern was the service. I expect the serving staff to know who ordered what at my table and not ask me. I also was a little taken aback when our waitress was clearing the table and simply beckoned me to hand her my plate with a hand signal. Maybe my standards are too high, but it's bad when you go to the $20 mexican place the next night and the wait staff is right on - maybe they should switch places?
