Unimpressed
by MidtownAsh at Citysearch
Went there with a group of girlfriends, and overall was just unimpressed. My mani was average, no parking, staff was just OK, and the whole place felt slightly shabby. If you're looking for a great manicure/pedicure (and dont mind the chemical smell) go to @ Nails Salon at the intersection of Briarcliff and LaVista - went there all throughout undergrad at Emory, and even though I now live in Midtown I still go back as the prices are low, they're efficient, and the manicures last extremely long. Honey is just average, if not below.
- Pros: No chemical smell
- Cons: Pretty much everything else.
Smells amazing

It's not your typical nail salon where the stench of polish and cleaning products is overwhelming. Honey smells...well of honey! I love coming here to have my nails done cause feel like I'm going over my best friend's house - the service is great and everyone is so friendly. My nails have never looked better!
Not as luxurious as you think

Finding this place was pretty difficult and when I called for directions, they weren't really helpful. The driveway is super narrow, but I drive a jetta so I managed. Actually, the whole place just felt small and enclosed in. I had to wait ten minutes past my appointment time and when I was finally taken to a chair, I had to wait even longer for the nail tech to finally arrive. I was expecting it to be luxurious, but it felt more like a rugged pampering experience. For example, they use tin buckets instead of the traditional spa jets to cut down on bacteria, but the water gets cold pretty quick, but she did refill it. I liked picking out a sea salt to put in the water- but it wasn't as big of a deal as they make it. This was not worth the $40 price tag for the pedi that I was expecting. I was just ready for her to hurry up and finish. I was going to get a mani-pedi but after she finally finished the pedi-which was nothing spectacular I skipped the mani and went home. This place is far from the luxurious nail boutique they make it out to be
thanks for saving me from being disappointed

Thanks to everyone who submitted a review on this place. I've been wanting to check them out, but there's no way I'm wasting my money after reading about your experiences there. This place sounds alot like 10Ten Nail Bar in Va-Hi. It's beautiful on the inside, but overrated when it comes to providing the service they're there for! For any of you who are looking for a place, I suggest Lenox Nails on Lenox Road. They stick to the basics, give excellent mani/pedis (even on natural nails) and I haven't been able to find a better mani/pedi in Atlanta. My mani lasts for 2 weeks with a top cop applied every 4-5 days. My pedi usually lasts 3-4 weeks.
Dangerous curves

The mani/pedi were both fine... nothing super luxurious like I was expecting, but it was a nice experience. Definitely a more soothing/pampering vibe than in my normal strip mall joint, but not worth the money to me. My nail tech offered to pull my car around while I paid my bill. Honey Nails has a super-narrow driveway that goes to their tiny parking lot behind the building. Only one car can fit in the driveway at a time, so I was happy to let her navigate the crazy driveway, although I did think it was a really odd offer.
I stood waiting for my car, when I saw the woman walk around the front of the building. I laughed and said, 'Oh, do you not drive stick-shift?' I stopped laughing when she told me she "hadn't realized it was a stick" and that she had "hitt the fence." I walked around and saw she had indeed smashed into the fence. Hard enough to knock the wooden plank out of the fence and leave a deep four-inch gash in my bumper and a large scrape up the edge of the bumper. The owner Holly apologized and said she'd have her insurance company take care of the damage. A few days later, I heard from her that her insurance didn't cover it... and neither would the nail tech's, because I had GIVEN HER THE KEYS. When I contacted Holly with the $1,000 estimate from the bodyshop, she offered me $150 in comped nail services and refused to pay the bill, or even PART of the bill in cash/check to the body shop. I pointed out that I wanted my car returned to the condition it was in when I drove into her parking lot, and that the salon has no business allowing people who can't drive a stick shift to pull cars around. She ignored me, and a lawyer friend's efforts to negotiate some sort of deal. I then got distracted with a lot of travel, but plan to file in small claims court. In the meantime, don't use Honey's "valet" service, if they still offer it. OH YEAH, and my toe polish started chipping within a week!!
- Pros: Nice atmosphere
- Cons: Poor customer service when employee created major problem
Very clean, nice atmosphere, but not ideal experience

After my first visit to Honey about a month and a half ago, I would have given it 4 stars. I was extremely impressed by the relaxing atmosphere, cleanliness, and quality of the pedicure I recieved, and was willing to overlook that I had to wait 10 minutes past my scheduled time to be seen. It was pricey - $40 - but worth it for an hour long pedi that looked great for a month. Unfortunately, my second visit was not nearly as nice. My appointment was at 6 pm, after work, same as my first had been. However, instead of an un-hurried, relaxing pedi, the technician totally, unabashedly rushed through my service, after I had to wait for 10 minutes, again. I was out the door in 30 minutes (including a minute of "drying time"). It was obvious that I was her last appointment and she wanted to leave. Plus, by my second appointment, Honey had raised their prices (for the 3rd time in a year so I've heard) to $45 for a pedi (I think when they opened it was $30 or $35 for a pedi), which IMO, is starting to get too expensive. And finally, the owner was right there the whole time, walking around the salon, but didn't seem to notice that the technician made no secret of completely rushing my pedi. I'm pretty relaxed about nail salons, especially if they are clean, but I left totally unimpressed and feeling like my $52 (with tip) was not at all worth it. I will try it one more time, but even though I never learned her name (she was not very friendly), I will definitely try to figure out who she was and see another technician.
- Pros: Very clean, nice atmosphere, good quality/lasting pedicures
- Cons: Tiny, inconvenient parking lot behind salon w/ only a few spaces
love it!

I've been to honey too many times to count and have always had such a great time. The quality is impeccable and the staff is so great. After reading through the reviews listed here I was shocked to see any of the negative comments as my experience has always been top notch. Parking is tight, but it would be a lot easier if everyone stopped driving huge SUVs. It's a fun place to take out of town guests as well for an afternoon of champagne and pampering!
- Pros: Quality, environmentally friendly products
- Cons: parking, try across the street or next door
Great mani and good for the environment!

I decided to visit honey after reading about it in the paper and hearing about it all over town. I was totally impressed! My manicure has lasted well over a week, which has never happened with those other brands. The hostess explained to me that the polish is specifically formulated for natural nails which is why it adheres better and the bonus is definitely no yucky chemicals. I had such a great time, the staff was amazing and best of all is the end product. My nails look amazing! Thanks honey!
- Pros: Environmentally sensitive products
- Cons: None!
Expensive and I do NOT think worth it. Will give it one more try.

I got my first service there today. VERY friendly staff. Nice environs - clean, nice music, pretty, no icky fake nail smells. HOWEVER, at the end of the day, when I go to get a manicure, i want a pretty manicure. At 45YO I find I can no longer see very well up close without my glasses (had on my contacts today). I just put on my glasses and am appalled at the terrible manicure (the polish part -- the filing, shape and cuticle part seems good). POLISH: Lots of bubbles. Big swoops of pink and big swoops of no pink. Big swoops of clear. They use this super thick non-toulene (or whatever) polish ... it's THICK and GOOEY (sorry, I think I want my chemicals b/c this polish is awful). The woman who did my nails was super friendly but clearly (now that I have my glasses on) was not concerned with detail. I'll chalk this up to experience. I read tons of great reviews, but on my first experience I have to say friendly & nice environs without the backup of a beautiful polish jobs sends me straight back to chop shops. I'm sorry, but this gets a big fat ONE STAR. I will try again b/c I don't think a single sampling of anything can be the overall impression. I'll be back for at least one more visit ... and with another review but dang, I spent 90 bucks (not including tips) with these folks and have red splatters on my toes, totally non-detailed fingernail paint job and uneven pubic hairs. But they were all so freakin' nice! Since I had three people for three services and all were problematic now that I can SEE them ... I think I can safely assume that attention to detail isn't one of the fortes offered at Honey.
Addendum: I just read all reviews on here. Clearly I am in the minority. I want to know where the other reviewers have been getting their nails done that they think Honey is top notch. Have they been living under a rock or are they Honey's mother? Sister? Best friend? GMAFB. I am totally in alignment with the other realistic non-5star reviews.
- Pros: Beautiful environs, music, etc.; super friendly staff
- Cons: bad paint job - makes great music & waterfalls irrelevant; bad parking; uneven pubes; splotches of color on toe skin
Best pedicure EVER! Until they raised the prices........

Not your average pedicure thats for sure! Instead of the usual spa chairs that have the tub attached-you sit in a plush comfy chair and they bring a silver bucket over to you thats filled with warm water that is scented with either peppermint, nectar or honey almond. That's how you know its clean-the bucket has to be dumped out and washed after every use. The nail polish they use is void of the chemicals that stink-so there is no harsh odors. Also you are offered water or tea upon arrival. The staff is American so you don't have to worry about having trouble communicating. Also the tools they use are taken out of a sealed plastic bag. Calming music is playing as well. VERY relaxing. Make an appt though. They are probably always busy.
THAT is the review I wrote BEFORE prices were raised. It was already over $30 to get a basic pedi- now it's $40!!! I'll never go back- I refuse to spend that much. A pedicure there (or anywhere for that matter) is just not worth $40. I refuse to support greed, and clearly that is what Honey is....GREEDY. No thanks- I'll pass.
- Pros: Clean, English speaking staff. No harsh odors.
- Cons: Limited parking. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE- NOT WORTH IT.
