We had a birthday party there with 25 people. They told us when we made reservations it would be about $15 a person. When they gave us the bill it was $950 for 25 people. We complained and then they lowered it to $500 which was $25 a person. All they served us was humus, yogurt and 6 small platters of meat. Don't every go here the owners are just trying to rip everybody off. They don't have alcohol and if you bring your own they charge you high prices to have it there.

Pros: easy parking

Cons: rip off, bad service, overpriced.

Great food, great service. I loved the ambiance. We had a book club meeting there, and it was a great time!

Pros: Delicious kebabs

I previously gave this restaurant a 2-star rating for a number of good reasons, particularly the value and quality. I visited Fanoos several months later and I was pleasantly surprised that they have improved the food quality, although in my view the value is still average. I personally find the quality and value of food at Persepolis restaurant are better. Out of fairness to Fanoos, I decided to revise my feedback here and give them one more star.

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Value, service, private party noise is annoying to other customers

We went there late on a weeknight after having sushi for dinner at Sushi Mia, and we loved it. We only had tea and the baklava, and the tea is very good, not at all bitter or under brewed which is kind of difficult for persian tea. The baklava was not in the greek or arabic (very syrupy sweet) style. It had a subtle sweetness that I liked. The atmosphere was something i'd expect in new york city. Will go there to eat and update my review.

Biggest rip-off since my last Persian dining experience in Moscow.......We went to Fanoos in Sandy Spring as a group for a birthday party. We were never told about any appetizer bar; however, the food was fairly good. Their Saturday night belly dancers consisted of combined grand total of one girl belly dancer that was a large site to see. This was when the restaurant was well over half full. I noticed someone brought in their own bottle of wine and I asked if this was permitted. The waiter said "SURE, IT IS PERMITTED!”. So off I went and picked up a bottle of white and red wine to have a variety for all at the party. But what the waiter failed to mention was there was going to be an $18.00 per bottle "CORK FEE" that popped up on our bill. I didn't complain then since it was my girl friend’s birthday party. I have called and left message to return my call but have yet to hear back from Fanoos. I will update this review if I do hear from them. Are all Persian restaurant owners this deceitful, should they not inform you of unexpected fees? (I kind of expected this in Moscow where the "special imported rice" was not listed on the menu and the waiter practically begged us to have rice with our meal -- which upon receiving the bill I discovered this "special imported rice" was about the same price as Fanoos Cork fee per person)

Pros: Large open area with decent atmosphere, menu prices are not too bad

Cons: Non-menu surprise costs are outrageous and entertainment was weak at best.

We love going out to eat Persian Food. So we went back to Fanoos when they opened their doors officially and WOW, the place reminded you of the Old Persian Tea Houses which existed until 100 years ago on the sides of the roads in Iran where the travelers rest, drank tea and smoked hookah. The decoration of the place was done by the owners and their people but I thought they hired a professional top of the line decorator from New York to do it. As we put foot in the restaurant we were transported to the traditional Iran from 100 years ago. You could feel, smell and taste the traditional Iran. Traditional Iran where the guest was the king and we were treated like king and queen. The staff would jump through any hoops for you to make you feel welcome, loved and relaxed. The food was fabulous as good as my Mom’s cooking. The appetizer bar is the most fabulous idea that I have ever seen. You have your choice of many appetizers that can actually be eaten with your meals.. We started going there two times a week, then three times a week and now at least four times a week. On Friday, Saturday and Sundays, they have entertainment with a live DJ and Belly Dancers. Their Selection of Persian Music is Great. Their Belly Dancers are very wonderful, talented and off course very beautiful. The biggest plus that I found with this restaurant was that if you want to enjoy the atmosphere, the absolute warm hospitality of the staff, enjoy the belly dancers or just smoke a hookah and drink couple cups of tea, you can do that and you don’t have to buy dinner. Usually we eat at home, however afterward every week we drive 38 miles from Ball Ground to Sandy Springs to just enjoy a hookah, some appetizers and off course the wonderful and delicious tea that they have. No other place or hobby that we had before can compete with going to Fanoos, The place is SIMPLY WONDERFUL. I RECOMMEND IT WITH THE DEEPEST SINCERITY. Two very happy Fans of Fanoos.

Pros: The Best Restaurant in Atlanta, the Most Wonderful people with the Best Service and Food.
