Memorable Night
by alesya
My first visit to the restaurant was as part of a group of twenty-six teenagers going out for the prom dinner, not exactly the dream clientele. The second we were seated some kids complained about the location of our seating, and the waiter, whom I would have understood perfectly had he displayed any displeasure, smiled, spoke to a manager, rearranged, and with jokes and wonderful suggestions, reseated us. I read the reviews before attending, and my experience that night, and a couple of other nights, never, even slightly, dropped below four stars.
The hostesses do wear skimpy clothing, just as at the Geisha House, that is a fact.
beautiful evening out

- Pros: all around excellent!
- Cons: a little dark
Terrible customer service
by LinaATL
I took my friends there for the first time and which now will be my last time.
I have eaten there a few times before and it was decent. I did however come on Monday nights when they have 50% off of food. That is the only time that overpriced place is worth it.
This time, however, was exceptionally unpleasant!!!!
I have received an email telling me that the restaurant will be closing and all the food will be 50% until the day that they close. Due to that email I urged a couple of my friends to go with me there and have a decent meal. We got there and as one of the pervious reviewers has pointed out, the greeting staff was dressed not appropriately for an establishment of these sorts. We were seated right away and our server was nice enough. He did recommend a NY strip to my boyfriend and said that it was similar to the fillet minion just a larger portion. Well it was not at all!!! The server was courteous enough to change the order back to the original fillet minion, but by now we all had our food and were eating while my boyfriend had to wait.
After all that hoopla with the changing of the meals and some more waiting we finally received our bill.
Again I understood that the place is closing, due to the email I have received, and all of our food should be 50% off. The bill was full price and the server was not very polite when I asked him about what I was expecting.
I very politely asked to speak to the manager. It took her over 10 min to get to our table!!!! After I tried to explain our situation to her, I was rudely interrupted a few times as she tried to apologies, the answer I received was that the email can not be honored and the best she can do for me now is 20%. I tried to reason with her but she said that she could give me only one option and if I did not like it I can call corporate. We asked for that number and called it. First we were told that this was not the correct number then we were also that no one can help us until Monday even if we were talking to the correct office in the first place.
We asked for the correct number but were never given such a thing.
Needless to say I was extremely disappointed in my experience and I highly doubt it that I will choose to eat there again even for free!!!!
I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and there was no decent service offered to us by the management at this restaurant!!!
- Cons: Terrible customer service
Good service, bad atmosphere, poor food

I booked a reservation here based on some friends recommendations. My wife and I were seeing Kooza and wanted a nice dinner before. I will say I was very disappointed in the dinner.
To start, when you walk in you are greeted by two teenage girls wearing next to nothing. My thought was that I will have to remember to check out where my daughter works because there is no way she will ever wear that little.
We were seated quickly. Then we noticed the female servers wore tank tops with their bra straps showing. For a moment I thought we'd walked into the chicken wing place where the girls orange shorts.
The atmosphere: Dark and loud. The music was cranked up which made it difficult to have a conversation. It was very dark and hard to tell what you were exactly eating.
The food: The bread was good. But I would have expected the salami to be of at least Boar's Head quality, not Oscar Myer. My wife had egg plant Parmesan. One piece of egg plant on a pile of over cooked pasta. I've had better at the Olive Garden, and for a lot less. I had the veal. Again, it would have been nice to see what I was eating because it was hard to tell the meat from the fat. The mashed potatoes where ok, but nothing to come back for. I still don't know what the crunchy stuff was in those potatoes. Again, light would have helped. I will say the martinis were good.
So, very loud, very dark, and the food was very poor. I do not recommend anyone going.
My opinion, don't waste your time or money.
- Pros: Fast seatign
- Cons: Poor food, loud atmosphere, not romantic at all
Great early evening service
by SusanDuncan1
This was our first time, so I want to be clear that we arrived at 6pm on a Saturday night to a 1/4 full restaurant. So with that in mind, service was well timed and very polite. I was a little nervous over the lack of clientele at that time and had seen some of the previous poor reviews, but soon realized we were in for a treat. Our waiter was well informed without sounding scripted and made some great suggestions. The Blue Moon Margarita should not be missed. And the Burrata was yummy. Could have had a few more pieces of bread with it. We found the wine that we desired for the meal and it did not seem over priced. Portion sizes were good for the Lobster Ravioli and the Pork Tenderloin leaving us room to share the cheesecake dessert. Loved it!!! Our waiter timed his service and checks perfectly and laughed with us over the 80's music selections as we tried to guess who might be next on the list. We were entertained and well fed. It is worth a try at least as an option during your visit to Atlantic Station if not for a night out on the town.
Nice romatic Sat night

I made reservations on Saturday night for 2 people. We were seated right away. It did take quite some time to get our waitress originally, but once she greated us we had good service. We both had salads and entrees as well as drinks. All of the food was better than average. Arugula salad was great and both the chicken parm and linguine with clams was excellent. Lighting was very low but it was romantic. I would recommend this place for a date or an evening of dinner and people watching. Menu is a littel pricey but nothing abnormal for Atlanta with great food and atmosphere.
Save your money, skip this place entirely

Like many of the other reviewers, I found this restaurant to be highly overpriced and overrated. I was taken there for my birthday and really regret it. While the ambiance and decorations are great, cool bathrooms don't make up for what the place lacked. Drinks were overpriced, but that's not surprising in Atlanta. The food was awful; they seemed to mess up the simplest items! My sister ordered the calamari and asked it not be spicy, unfortunately the dish was very spicy when it showed up almost 45 minutes later. My parents had the pasta and were not impressed, they said FIGO tasted better. I got a strip steak and was shocked- when I pay $30 for a piece of steak I expect it to be a good cut and not overcooked to the point of dryness. As another reviewer commented, we had 2 servers which made things extremely confusing. It seems we never got what we needed for the table (silverware, napkins, etc). They tried to make the experience better by giving me a free dessert, but I don't think I had more than 2 bites. It was bland and I didn't want to waste the calories when I could go to Brusters and be more satisfied. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food and fine dining. For the money, head over to Antica Posta- real Italian food.
- Pros: pretty lighting
- Cons: quality, taste, and price of food, along with service and parking
great specials on monday
by lalababy
Monday nights are half off (except for drinks). So go crazy with the menu! Try everything if your stomach allows it. I loved the clam linguine and my soup. I don't think it's too much Italian, but it does give off an American kick to it all. Dark and cool, the music is good and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing.
- Pros: Monday specials, atmosphere, service
- Cons: none so far
The BEST Italian restaurant in Atlanta!
by tara986
The ambiance, the food, and the service were absolutely amazing. We had the steamed mussels, ultimate bruschetta, and the braised veal breast. It was the most delicious, authentic Italian food I have experienced outside of Italy. You MUST try this restaurant!
great service, new menu
by randomdarling81
I came into Dolce (my 5th(?) time) with my husband and four friends last Tuesday night and was delighted to see not only a brand new menu but also a very snazzy looking gentleman crooning Sinatra tunes from the VIP area overlooking the main floor! Apparently, this is a regular Tuesday event called "Sinatra Night", which, on top of the 50% off deal they have going on Mondays, makes us want to come waaay more often. I have to say, I'm shocked at some of the more negative reviews because I've NEVER had a bad experience. My service is always friendly and efficient (thank you, Keith and Liz!!), the food is amazing every time and the ambiance is to-die-for. I tried the new grilled watermelon appetizer with panzanella salad and saffron dressing, and had the crispy crab and ricotta gnocchi for my entree. Both were beautifully presented and extremely tasty. We already have reservations for this evening. Can't wait!
- Pros: great service, beautiful decor, luscious and tasty food
- Cons: No valet during the week
