AWESOME!!! A GREAT HOT SPOT

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. I had such a great experience, we went with a few friends and had a blast. The food (can be a bit complicated for someone who doesnt know much about french food) was great and the bar and lounge were beautiful. The only problem we had was with the valet, it took 15 mins for them to bring our car out.
PROS: food, atmosphere, design, location
CONS: valet
Very Recommended
If only I could eat the ambience....

The service on the second floor was top-notch, and of course the atmosphere is fantastic. The food itself was a bit funky. The menu was a bit more advanced than I was ready for. I wish I had known beforehand that "poivre" means "pepper" in French, and that my burger would be studded with dozens -- nay, hundreds! -- of whole peppercorns! I felt like an uneducated dolt when I made that connection. By that time I was picking peppercorns from my teeth; my eyes wouldn't stop watering. The soups and the desserts were delicious and beautiful. I'd go again, just for the ambience. But I'll probably wish I could just eat the sumptuous green velvet of the prim little couch where I was seated; I think I'd prefer that to those 200 peppercorns.
- Pros: Atmosphere; service
- Cons: Challenging menu

I finally got the opportunity to checkout this overrated hot spot. I didn't come for dinner or drinks at that gorgeous bar, I was a guest at a netwworking event. This posh tri-level restaurant/bar/lounge is located in the heart of midtown. Should I take the stairs or the elevator? Let's begin the tour: Level 1, Gather your friends, unwind and relax in your own private lounge area, let's not forget that gorgeously designed bar. Someone recommended the French Onion Soup, after all, Trois is a french restaurant/bar/lounge.
Level 2, Catch a glimpse of the city while you dine on exquisite french cuisine, be sure to bring your American Express card with you.
Level 3, whew! finally at the top, Yes, I decided to take the stairs....This is where my event was held, cute.. plush lounge stools, a room with a view, designer bathrooms, great spot for networking.
Overall, my experience was pleasant, when I save enough money, I'll go back.
- Pros: Valet Parking, Conveniently located
- Cons: Expensive..bring your American Express card
Do not eat here

Okay, so we were super excited to try this new restaurant becuase we were such huge fans of Two Urban Licks. Do not go here, the service was terrible. We had 8:30 reservations on Friday night, we maybe sat down at 10:45. The line at the bar was four deep and it took 30 minutes to get a bar tenders attention for a drink. After waiting for over two hours, with over $100 bar tab, no part of our meal was comped, and we had to wait ten minutes out side in the freezing cold for the valet to bring out car around. The decor was like a huge bright light shining in your face, not comfy or cozy feeling like the other restaurants. I can't tell you if the food was good or not, by 11:00 when we finally got something to eat, anything would have tasted good.
Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a place to see and be seen!! The atmosphere can't be topped and the food delicious to taste. The chef definitely lived up to his reputation.
- Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Service
NOT Yet Ready for Prime-Time!

Trois is a very trendy and unique 3-level restaurant (lounge/bar downstairs and private event area upstairs). The food is quite decent, but very much a departure from "ONE Midtown Kitchen" and "TWO Urban Licks." Many of the entrees are rendentions of classic French brasserie food. Personally, the appetizers were far more interesting than the majority of the main dishes.
The modern decor is a sight in itself. The only poor design is the fact that the lounge and restaurant share bathrooms (a.k.a. expect to wait). Given the recent opening of "Trois," complimentary champage was served to all tables. However, this in no way made up for the rather confused and poor service.
The service is in dire need of improvement. One of our entrees came out 10 minutes after all the others. Wine was ordered prior to the entree, and, when reminded, the waiter kept saying "the bar is working on it now." Well, needless to say we had finished the entrees before the waiter had the nerve to then serve our glasses of wine while clearing our plates.
Don't get me wrong, this restaurant has great potential; it's simply not there yet. For better food, service, and price, try "ONE Midtown Kitchen" before taking the risk at "Trois."
- Pros: Ambiance, Trendy
- Cons: Poor Service, Confused Staff, Unimpressive Menu
Reservations required for the bar...

After hearing some of the buzz about Trois and a fan of Two Urban Licks and One Midtown Kitchen we decided to checkout Mr. Amick's newest addition to the Atlanta restaurant scene. While we didn't have dinner in the main dining room, we decided to stop by the lower level bar for a few cocktails. We arrived at 10:30pm and were told that we could not enter the bar because we did not have reservations. We peaked into the bar and it was only 25% full so we were a bit confused. Caught scratching our head a member of our party went to the restroom and used their cell phone to call the restaurant to make reservations for about 5 minutes later. Once the member of our party left the restroom we informed the hostess that one of our friends did indeed call ahead and upon checking their computer system she was able to let us enter. To be quite honest, I wish we didn't go into the bar. While modern in decor the layout seems like someone was on an acid trip when they designed the place... VIP booths with televisions, furniture that resembles that of my grandmothers (I was looking for the clear plastic film that covers most of her furniture), and a floor that is lit from below. The bar itself is visually cool, but overall it is just a hodge-podge of mediocrity. The cocktails were average, however if you are a vegetarian or Vegan you may want to ask the bartender or waitress what drinks are safe to drink--as some have egg in them (even though the menu make no note of it). The cru we sampled was good, but the Lobster Corn Dog was aweful... we took one bite and hot steam/water shot into our mouths from the lobster and gave us no other option than to deposit it in a napkin. I would also suggest that you ask for crushed ice for your cocktail as some of the drinks are just served with a large block of ice which takes forever to adequately chill your cocktail. Overall the bar needs major improvement... with an experience like this at the bar, I think we'll pass on the actual restaurant.
- Pros: New Restaurant
- Cons: Must have reservations, Overpriced Cocktails, Lobster Corn Dog
Trois! Is Not The Magic Number!----Yet! 1/13/07-Update! Definitely Not The Number!

We normally don't go to a new restaurant the first couple of weeks, but like eveyone else, we did the quick dash. This place is a stunner. The 1180 Peactree Building location, is so now, Atlanta. But alas, great surroundings, do not make a great dining destination. Extremely overpriced, we don't mind if it's worth it, but not at this time. The staff needs to taste everything on the menu, and be able to communicate to the patrons about questions. We are not going to say anything else, but will come back in January '07, and give another try. Trois has the potential to be the star of Midtown. While design is stunning, it has the feel of a Johnson Studio clone! 1/13/07- To be fair, we went back, and it was worse than our first visit. A new restaurant would serve better, for this great location. Maybe into two different restaurants, but not from this group. The steam/freshness of this organization has run out!
- Pros: Stunning Location & Design!
- Cons: Staff, Food, and Lots Of Confusion! 1/13/07-Has Gotten Worse!
