Great food, good price and friendly service
by Sohel at Citysearch
I've been going to this place for quite sometime and current owner is doing a much better job than the old owner did. I've seen some people are saying the meat dishes weren't good or the vegi dishes weren't up to the standard, but I think even the finest restaurants can have a bad day or two as far as cooking goes. So far, I've not had any bad experience there and I eat frequently. I've sent some of the co-workers there and they are hooked to their chiken tikka masala dish. The staffs are friendly and easy going and they take it easy and don't give you the rush feelings when you are ordering. Over all great food, good price and friendly service. I know the interior pinkish color is a bit odd, but I'm there to eat not to judge the color or the paintings on the wall. :)
The Best Curry in Atlanta
by LozBrit at Citysearch
This place is amazing!! My husband and I love Indian food, being British we have been to many Indian restaurants (its our national cuisine!), so we have very high standards for Indian food. This place is a small hidden Gem in Atlanta, the dishes are always fresh, hot and delicious. They spice up the food at request. The waiting staff are always friendly and helpful. The decor is funny, and the place is very small, but we have been there with groups of around 16-20 and they served all of us quickly with the same great standard of food, and all of our friends love this place too. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Excellent Food, Service and Price
Atlanta's Tastiest Indian Food
by merrigator at Citysearch
Oh. My. God. No, seriously, you need to get in your car and drive to Rose of India right now. The food here is insanely good, and it's CONSISTENTLY good. Every single time I go I'm blown away at how tasty and delicious their food is. Papadums--can't get enough of their crispy, cumin-y excellence. Their naan bread--piping hot and pillowy. Their basmati rice is delicious enough to eat all by itself, but that would be a crime. Because their curry dishes--particularly the RIDICULOUSLY TENDER AND RICH lamb curry--is to die for. And the prices are wonderfully low, so you'll be able to go back often (and you'll want to, believe me.) Get the lamb curry and fall in love.
My almost 2 year old son said, YUCKY dinner! Can't argue with that!

DO NOT GO HERE! We are Northern Indians ourselves...and because of the reviews we read, we thought we'd try this place out... First and foremost, the prices are high for the QUALITY of food you get... We orderd an appetizer, the Mixed Platter, and our main meal...Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma, Naan and Daal (side order portion) for our son...and EVERYTHING was HORRIBLE. The Butter Chicken was SWEET and so was the Lamb Korma...the Daal didn't taste like anything...and if you go to any other Indian restaurant, these items by far are not sweet...so, needless to say, what we were expecting to eat...was not all what we got...
I don't mind paying extra if the food is great...but I don't know how in the world people pay the ridiculous prices at this place... Our bill at this place was $50 for crappy food!
Let's just say that when the waiter came to gather our plates, my almost 2 year old son said, YUCKY dinner! Can't argue with that!
- Pros: Service was good...but since no one was in there, what would you expect.
- Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE.
The food was such a disappointment!
by irizayo at Citysearch
We were so excited about going to 'Rose of India' The expectations were high and we were disappointed. The single star we are granting is for decor and cleanliness. But the food was the reason of the visit, and it was not up to the indian standard, in our opinion.
I ordered butter chicken and my partner ordered the Lamb Bhuna. The Butter chicken was so lame... oh! my sadness when they came back with an absolutely plain/sweet yogurt-curry sauce and some pieces of chicken. My previous experiences with Butter Chicken were with a rich yogurt-curry sauce spiced up with herbs and flavorful without been sweet. The Lamb Bhuna sauce was acceptable (it had the herbs I was expecting on the Butter chicken really) but the lamb itself was not as tender tender as it should have been.
I am afraid we are not going back to Rose of India...
Great tandoori
by PaddyT at Citysearch
I've had Indian food from London to Nairobi and this is the best tandoori I've ever had. Fast friendly service and the ambiance is funky/comfortable. Highly recommended. My favorite is chicken tikka.
Be careful all indian restaurants are rated 4 or more on 5
by Padru at Citysearch
There is no Indian restaurant that does not have a 4 / 4.5 star review. Pl be careful. We are an unethical breed of people and inflate our ratings. Least realising that all indian restaurants end up being 4.5 on 5. Pl use word of mouth and personal discretion to visit all of these restaurants.
I wish health and happiness in yr experimentation with food.
THIS CHEF RULES !
by tampabayasian at Citysearch
i guess the chef must work 7 days a week OR they just have several excellent chefs ! food ALWAYS prepared the same, i have visited there some 5 times and never have i been disappointed in the quality of the dining experience. the entrees are priced extremely reasonable and most can be shared by two unless you are just incredibly hungry ;) . they let you bring your own bottle of wine even ! which is a blessing as their own wine offerings leave a lot to be desired. as far as the food choices : the selection is broad and a variety of indian cuisines are represented. THEY WILL SERVE YOU LIKE YOU ARE A MAHARAJAH (KING) better customer care I have never found at a indian restaurant :) if you dont go anyplace else, go here !!!
- Pros: FOOD ! FOOD ! FOOD ! AND EXCELLENT SERVICE - theyre not happy til you are !
- Cons: they dont honor their own coupon on citysearch but who cares, the food is very value-priced ! only other drawback is their wine selection sux
Great customer service
by Sampathkumarv at Citysearch
The place was good, very decent service and food was ok.
I ate chicken biriyani and looked instant mix, and was ok. But the naan was the best naan that I have ever eaten.
- Pros: Food and service
- Cons: nothing
Average Experience at an Indian restaurant
by swimfin at Citysearch
I love Indian food it is my second favorite type of food, My first being sushi. So my family and I decided we wanted Indian tonight so we started looking on the web and we found Rose of India. We drove up there and we sat down and started to eat. The food was very good but it was not as spicy as I like it to be. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala on in between medium and hot and it was not very spicy. So if you like Spicy but not too spicy of Indian food I would go to Himaylaya Indian restaurant.
- Pros: I liked the way the restaraunt looked, the staff, and if the food was spiceyer it would have been better.
- Cons: not spicey
