I chose this restaurant based on online reviews from other patrons. I purchased a curry chicken platter and a curry chicken roti. The roti had very little filling and a whole lot of roti skin. The chicken filling was very salty. The portion size of the curry chicken platter was meant for a small child with very little chicken. It was not worth the price. I was quite disappointed in the restaurant food and would not recommend the Soca Caribbean Cafe to anyone.
Cons: Prices way too high for what you get. Portions very small.

Living in Decatur, I don't get to Soca often. Whenever I am in area, Soca is like a magnet--I must stop by to dine and see Dale and his mom, the Chef. The Pelau is very delicious and so is the Mango Pie. Soca is a great place to take your out-of-town guests; they would love the experience. You have to at least try it!
Pros: Delicious Food, Ample Parking, Fabulous Customer Service
Cons: None observed

Ok so the staff is often too few and overworked but the food is the real deal. I dine at Soca often (as well as at many other fine Atlanta establishments) and I have travelled extensively in my 42 years and I am always thrilled to visit this tiny but stylish nook in Alpharetta/Duluth. Plan to relax when you arrive. Meals may be served in mere minutes or much longer if they get very busy. Don't worry, the owner Dale and his mom are always hustling to deliver as fast ast they can. My personal favorite is the "Pirate's Revenge", a saucy, seasoned Tilapia filet that is Portuguese in origin and will make you wonder what Soca knows that the $22 fish restaurants in Atlanta don't. When I'm in an informal mood I usually help myself to a roti (basically a Trinidad Indian-style burrito) and I have it wrapped in the Dhal Puri tortilla. The texture and the quality of the sauces are the finest I have ever had. My only complaint is that they do not serve beer or wine.
Pros: THE place to introduce your friends to Caribbean cuisine
Cons: no beer or wine

I had Soca cater a Caribbean themed party and it was awesome! The menu included meat pie appetizers, coconut shrimp, jeerk chicken wings, saffron rice and mango cheesecake. My guests loved ALL of it especially the coconut shrimp (next time I would order more shrimp b/c it was the first to disappear.) The wings were spicy and soo tender. YUM! Prices were reasonable and Dale was great to work with! Thanks Dale!
Pros: quality of food
Cons: coconut shrimp portions a bit small

The service was friendly, and straightforward. The chicken is one of the best i've had in atlanta, and the roti is out of this world.
Pros: good food

We tried Soca on a Friday night before a movie. Since it is in an upscale shopping center with a movie theater we feared it was just a chain of some sort. Boy were we wrong. The food was outstanding. Their menu says it is "home cooked Caribbean food" and they weren't kidding. Although they have the obligatory jeerk chicken on the menu (which was really good and savory...not just some seasoning on a chicken patty!), their Pelau was something special. They seemed to have a pretty diverse menu. Some hard-core caribbean dishes along with some "americanized" dishes for those who aren't as adventurous. I forget the name of the other dish we had but it was a chicken dish with just the right amount of spices. Not too spicy. They also have Roti, which are basically a wrap, which looked pretty good as a lunch thing, but we didn't try those. The service was adequate. Very friendly and straightforward. The restaurant was very clean and bright with great reggae music playing. It may look like another shopping center restaurant (which we typically avoid like the plague) but this was a really charming place with outstanding food at very reasonable prices. Its the kind of place you could take someone from out of town and claim as your "secret local favorite"
Pros: Great food, good atmosphere
Cons: location
