I am advising other NOT TO USE Massagio Spa
by Pitcher634 at Citysearch
By the other posts on this website, I can see that I am not the only one that feels that business is unethical and unprofessional. I am the CEO of a local firm, and I am sending out an e-mail to every one of my employees warning them of this business. Similar to another review, I find management inaccessible and unresponsive. I have tried to cancel my membership by phone, by fax and by writing. They double bill me on direct debit and have not stopped the billing although I have tried for months. DO NOT LET THEM DIRECT DEBIT your account. They continue to bill even after MULTIPLE attempts to cancel via writing and phone. I am speaking to a group of 600 business people and will call them out by name as a business that has no respect for it's customers, and how not to conduct customer service.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM WAS A NIGHTMARE!!!

I made the mistake of signing with them last year. I wish I had taken the time to read the online reviews, I've regretted that decision over and over. I stopped using their services a long time ago because they fired their weekday aesthetician and it was no longer convenient for me. They said they would hire another but never did. I've been trying to cancel ever since. The staff is rude, they have no physical headquarters just PO Box. Your cancellation letter will get sent back to you. Even when you take it in person, they'll continue to debit your account. I reported them to the BBB, they ignored the BBB. Which legitimate business would do that??? I think we should all file a class action suit against these scammers!
- Pros: Used to have good massages
- Cons: Never retain their staff. Impossible to get out of contract
get a massage not a membership

I canceled my membership as directed by the contract. I sent in registered mail and was told they never received it. I hand delivered my cancellation and had the office manger sign she recieved my card key and cancellation letter. I was overcharged per my contract specs. When I disputed and sent in a money order instead, massaggio sent my account to collections for $900.00 and dinged my credit! (The dispute was $25.00) I have taken the matter to federal court and WON.
BUT I would recommend anyone having problems with this spa to contact Consumer Affairs. They are currently investigating this spa for violation some consumer laws (as I understand it) and have a large file on this company. The owners name is Darren Allen and I believe his wife or girlfriend Kristie is the office manager.
PS the people who work there have nothing to do with mgmt policies. Unforunately mgmt has everything to do with everything else.
IF you feel you must sign a contract make sure the initial the back as mgmt did a little switch a roo when I filed my complaint with the governors office.
BEWARE!
- Pros: massage
- Cons: poor rude disservice by management
Don't blame the employees
by jellybean4567 at Citysearch
The person running this company in the ground is the owner Darren. This company does not have a "corporate." It is one of the owners telephones that he will never answer! He is very mean and abusive to his employees. That is why the receptionist do what ever he says for fear of being yelled at or fired it happens very very often. When you send your certified letter to "corporate" it just goes to the owners p.o box, and he picks it up. It is very easy for him to say that he never got it or you need to send it again. Business is slow, and he needs to pay the bills somehow ( with your fees). So please do not call the receptionist and curse them out just ask for the owner himself. Never sign a contract unless you intend to use it all the way til the end.
- Pros: great massages
- Cons: bad owners
Please Read BEFORE You Sign the Contract!!!

Those who gave 5 star rating must work for Massaggio and keep signing in under different names. They have basically the same general message "great massages". If these messages are real, let them try to cancel their membership. Even worse, try to reason with the manager Kristie who will not give her last name. You call to cancel and the receptionist gives you the instructions but fail to mention they need a $50 cancelation fee or your membership will continue. I wrote their corporate office a nice cancellation note, included my membership tag, and sent it via certified mail. I received a response that they were going to turn the account over to collections in 10 days. I asked Kristie, why wouldn't the receptionist mention the cancellation fee. Kristie said "you didn't ask, it's in your agreement". I said "I didn't ask about the other details she gave me either". I asked Kristie for someone from corporate. She only knows one person and do not know their titles or last names. She even said "they're just going to direct you back to me." I see why they only have one location. Why sign a one year contract and be penalized to get out of it before the 2 years is up? It's a RACKET. Kristie even had the nerve to say "your 2 years ends in August, why don't you stay until then." I would not give them another penny more then I have to for a service I AM NOT using. Then she said "if you had canceled yesterday it would only be $xx. But now it's $25 more." I said "I tried to cancel yesterday but no one answered the phone." She said "Oh, we are closed on Wed. But it's no big deal it's only one day." I said "when did you let customers know you are closed on Wed and if it's going to cost me an additional $25, it is a big deal". Poor customers service ruins any "good massage" or "nice atmosphere" they have to offer. I thought they had a good concept and since they are located very close to my house, I was planning to sign up again in a couple of years. But now, if they were next door, I would not give them my business. I also plan to tell all my friends who also live close, not to use them. In these economic times, poor customer service really hurts . . .
- Pros: Nice atmosphere and conveniently located
- Cons: Worst Customer Service Ever, Can't Cancel, Corp a Joke
You'll be fighting forever to cancel your membership - BEWARE!

Great Massages, but terrible managment! I have been trying for 6 months to cancel my membership - won't allow you to do it in person, must sent registered letter - which they say they never recieved. Can never speak to someone in billing - only receptionist. Now using AMEX to aid my fight. Also writing a letter to the Better Bus. Bureau. STAY AWAY!
Extremely rude and owner completely unavailable

When I tried to cancel my membership, I was told I had to do it in writing. When I wrote, I was told that my account was in arrears even though it was not. They charged my debit card anyway and I disputed the charges and won. I just recieved a letter from them stating that per the contract, they have reinstated my membership and i am now in arrears $350. It is the most absurd thing that I have ever heard. I hope someone sues them as they are a fraudulent company.
- Pros: I no longer go there
- Cons: they are thieves
Interacting with this place will stress you out!

Stay away from these guys. There's lots of reviews about how they lock you into the contract and it's impossible to cancel even when going by the rules. I thought it was just me but a friend mentioned going there, I told her of my nightmare over lunch - the other friend said she saw a spot on the spa on Fox 5 recently and that they were being investigated by the State for not following contract rules. It's a great idea in theory - but if they were doing a great job, they wouldn't have to strong arm people and behave so rudely.
- Pros: Price
- Cons: Contract, staff, rudeness,
Give them a shot

This spa is a wonderful place to relax after a hectic day. My back used to hurt all the time until I started my weekly massages, now the pain is gone and my wallet is not much thinner.
I always go on Saturdays, they have plenty of appoinments available.
........
- Pros: Good place to get regular massages
