I love the chicken enchiladas!

The decision whether to get "my usual" or go with one of their specials is a struggle of mega proportions at each visit. They're both so good.

Go there. Good atmosphere, too.

  • Pros: Out of the ordinary
  • Cons: Little pricey, but still reasonable

This place is a great little find. My partner and I found it last night and gave it a shot. The Chicken Taco was the best for me. The Steak Taco was a close second. The Fish Taco was OK. It had at least 2 types of fish, and one was a little fishy for my tastes, but it had a good sweet heat to it.

My partner had the tamale and it was tasty, too. It had a nice heat that didn't kick you right away. The side salad was delicious. Their vinaigrette is tasty. I also liked their green rice. It was unusual, but very subtle flavors made it quite tasty.

We're probably moving in June, but we will be back several more times before we go.

Food: Best of its kind. Fish Tacos were great

Drinks: Best Margaritas i have ever had

Service and overall: Another live proof of success of owner operated restaurants. I am very tired of "factory like" operated restaurants in Atlanta. I have been regular to this restaurant and will continue to be.

OK, we'll tell you that this is one of the best Mexican cantinas we've found in Atlanta/Decatur, but only if you promise not to come in hordes and spoil it for us. The cilantro rice is genius.

Greetings from Mezcalitos,

Recently, I read a review that keep me thinking for days if the person that wrote the last review was being unfair to us, and the reason is because as part of this small and prosperous business one of our things is not to rush anybody, we gladly stayed many times past closing hours because more than business we consider everybody as part of us and want you to relax and come back over and over.

I also like to differ on the coment about the Ritas because since the beginning of the business, we'd always had the same prices for food and cocktails, and NOT FOUR dollars, eventhought we did had Mojitos and Caipirinhas nights and during winter time, but we kindly accept any input about us.

For all of those Mezcalitos Fans/family we like to thank for your support and respect for our job and dedication in making the best and fresher food of mexican cuisine and the most tastiest ritas and mojitos for the whole city.

Neil

I brought 10 of us in to dine; During that particular month they advertised in Decatur that they offered $4 Margaritas. Heck yeah! That's the reason we went. HOWEVER......where shall I start. Yes, we did pop in about 1 hour before they closed, plenty of time for us to eat & drink...and since this joint is in our neighborhood, I'd figure they'd be so kind and let us stay past closing time a bit (which, in our opinion, closes too early). We ended up getting attitude when 1 or 2 of us questioned the bill (remember there were 10 of us) and even MORE attitude from the waitress when we we realized that she charged us $45 for a pitcher of margaritas!! $45??? What the?? The waitress was the one who suggested the pitcher--not us. And, not all of us were drinking 'Rita's. So, grudgingly, we paid the bill (and p.s.--gave her a good tip, because we are decent people) and vowed to NEVER return to the land of 'TUDE! Bump this place. Plenty of other better Mexican places to go.

Decatur cantina serves classic Mexican cuisine plus creative dishes like meat loaf with chipotle ketchup and green rice with spinach cilantro.

I am a regular at my cows, and tried almost everything, specially when I go through my vegetarian moods, the amazing taste of the spinach quezadillas is unbelievable, even the vegans can eat here, the service is always friendly and ready to please you.

You will feel so lucky to know this place that would not want to go back to any other restaurant.

  • Pros: Romantic ambience, great service, daily fresh specials
  • Cons: closed to early

My husband and I went on Saturday afternoon. Walking in we felt very relaxed and loved the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive and the decor was nice. I ordered the 2 taco special - one fish, one steak. The fish taco was pretty good - I like mine with a little more cabbage for the crunch, but I couldn't complain about their's, it was tasty. Same with the steak taco. It came with green rice and black beans - both excellent and I usually never eat the beans anywhere, but these were too good to pass up. My husband ordered the chicken special - it was good, but not as good as the tacos. Also, Saturday's is Mojito special day... They're not made from a mix - they're AMAZING! Best I've ever had!!! They've perfected it! Thanks guys!

  • Pros: food, decor, service
  • Cons: none

Me and my wife went to this place on a Saturday night. The atmospher of the restaurant was very romantic, with dimmed lights and candels lid on the table. Menu didn't look very big, so I diceded to have fish tacos for a change, and it was the best fish taco I have had in my life. Taco was served on a flour tortilla, which made it not to fall appart in your hands, plus the chipotle sauce on it gave it a great taste. Fish was not breaded, but grilled and tasted very good. My wife and I also had margaritas, which were not very sweet, but strong. From what I been told that they didn't have any margarita mix in them, but instead lime and lemon juice (Very Strong :), but good). If you are looking for good fish tacos and margaritas, definitly a place to visit.

  • Pros: Lots of free parking, Good friendly Service
  • Cons: No big kids menu
