I've been going to Shay for several years now, and I've NEVER (that means, NOT ONCE) been even slightly disappointed with the haircut she gives. I had PLENTY of bad experiences BEFORE finding Shay. My hair is, apparently, not easy. Even though it's straight and short, nothing fancy, it's thick and fairly coarse. So, when people try to use the clippers to cut my hair, you can see lawnmower tracks all over my head. Shay cuts my hair super short with scissors, and it looks fantastic. Somehow, she's able to cut it super short without causing it to stick straight out...which is what used to happen. I'll never be able to leave Atlanta now! ;)

We'll call her Beaut-a-girl or maybe Coiffure-woman. Anyway, I followed Robbi from Salon Red, where she was responsible for my stunning wedding hair. I'm pretty low-maintenance overall so I need my hair to be cut well so it will look terrific without my having to work really hard (though Robbi probably wouldn't mind if I put in a little more effort). My color is shiny, my highlights look natural, I change my mind constantly and Robbi is one step ahead of me, ready to make something magnificent out of what is, truthfully, a very plain head of hair. And when I say ridiculous things like, "I want it to look longer," she pulls it off. Whatever it is. I said that once, honestly, and walked into work the next day and a coworker said, without knowing what I'd requested, "Is it possible for you to have gotten your hair cut longer?" Robbi is a genius and she loves her job and it shows!

Pros: Practically everything, especially my fantastic stylist.

Cons: I've had better coffee...

Could anyone ask for a better hair stylist than Jenn Hipp? I couldn’t. I have been a Jenn client for ten years and will continue to be as long as we are both in the same city. Jenn cuts and colors with precision and expertise. She pays attention to both my hair aspirations and lifestyle and executes her styles with an artful combination of creativity and common sense. The result? A lot of really good hair days. Thanks Jenn!

Robbin Woody is the greatest colorist around...I have followed her from Van Michael to Adore and I love her. I have used her for over 5 years and would NEVER go to anyone else!

Well after reading all the reviews on here about how great the salon was, I went to adore hair studios in Atlanta. The customer service by the receptionist was impeccable she was very polite, courteous and so forth. On the other hand when I went initially to get my hair done , by a stylist called Jamal he refused to do my hair, on the basis that it was relaxed. Now I am black and my hair is of afro texture, I wanted to colour it ash brown. I rang well in advance to confirm that they do afro hair, and they did. But what surprised me the most, was Jamal refused to do my hair as it was relaxed. (he only deals with virgin afro hair which is not relaxed, so I am told). I found this not only outright strange as 9 out of 10 women who are black have they hair relaxed. He refusal was on the basis that he does not want to colour relaxed AFRO hair. What!!! , at first I thought it was a joke, until he repeated it several times he will not colour afro hair. Now if this is his artistic vision (as he claimed), then they should out right fire him. I am the customer willing to pay top end money to have my hair coloured and you are refusing to colour it because of your artistic visions. Well that’s a first, not only does he help the saloon lose business by refusing to do my hair, he lets them down by reputation, and this is exactly why I am writing this review. Do not go there if your afro hair is relaxed, for the fear that Jamal’s artistic visions, will simply refuse to do them. There is a salon across the road called Like the River, you may see the name as nothing to do with hair, but it is first class from the time you step in, and the time they take to listen to what you want, and they will not let no bloody artistic visions get in they way of you looking your best.

The salon is GREAT! They have great customer service and the atmosphere is hip and young. Brenton Anderson is AMAZING with everything he lays his hands on!

After getting another bad, unflattering haircut at a salon which will go unnamed, I looked on Citysearch and found Adore. Reading the reviews made me decide that maybe Steven could help me with my hair dilemma. Wow! Not only did Steven help me, this is one of the best haircuts I have ever had! Steven listened completely to what I liked and did not like and had very good suggestions. He really understood what I was wanting in a haircut. He had to cut off all the totally uneven ends that the other stylist had left so my hair is shorter than I would like but the basic cut is very precise and works completely with my wavy hair. And not only is he a great hairstylist, Steven is a truly nice guy and a great conversationalist. Thank you, Steven!

I went to visit Alli Causey on the recommendation of a friend. She was awesome. Laid-back, cute and friendly, she actually listened to me! I told her I wanted to get some bangs and we spent a good few minutes figuring out exactly what I wanted. She did a great job and I have already been back once. I am a sufferer of stylist trauma and never go back to the same place twice. But I will always go back to Alli because she is terrific! The prices are amazing, and you can relax with a glass of wine, knowing that you will look fabulous!

Pros: cool staff, no pressure to buy products, wine or beer while you get your cut, great atmosphere

Cons: can't think of any!

I've been goinig to Jill for at least 5 years now, following her wherever she goes. How lucky am I that now she is right here in my neighborhood, in the beautiful and friendly Adore Hair Studio! I trust Jill with my hair, no matter how big the change. This last time I went to see her, she took my blonde hair to dark brown and gave me some of those trendy Katie Holmes bangs. I feel so hot, I can barely stand it! Jill is AWESOME!!

Pros: Getting the look you want!

Cons: None!

I've been with Jenn Hipp for almost 10 years now and I wouldn't even consider going to anyone else. People ask me who does my hair all the time. Jenn always knows exactly what to do and her color is fantastic. I love Jenn's cuts, color and conversation. You can't go wrong!

Pros: Everything!

Cons: Nothing!
