We tried Repast last night for the first time. We wanted a romantic dinner for 2 to celebrate out wedding anniversary. I saw that the restaurant wasnt noted for romance so when I called to make the booking I asked if they could give us a romantic corner. The hostess was very accommodating and gave me several options, including opening up the upstairs section just for us! When we arrived at the restaurant we were seated at a two top far from other customers, which was OK. It wasn't the best romantic seating, but given the restaurants layout it was reasonable. The decor was mixed, but there was definitely an asian influence. It was upclass, modern and chic. Drinks: I had the signature martini - the Repastini - vodka infused with ginger. It was very nice, although a tiny bit sweeter than I would have expected. My wife has a glass of cabernet, recommened by our waitress, that was very smooth and decent value at $15 for the glass. Appetizers: I had the dates wrapped in bacon. DECLICIOUS! This was actually better than my entree. The sweet gooey dates combined with the slightly crisp bacon worked really well. Entrees: My wife had the filet mignon and raved about it. She had asked for medium and the steak was really medium-rare, but still good. It came with porcinni mushrooms and cheese pasta with a 4-days-to-make wine sauce. My wife LOVED it. I had the chorizo encrusted pork chop with sprouts, bacon, apple and a turnip and sweet potato gratin. It was good, but not excellent. The pork chop was about 2" thick, which is too thick in my opinion. As a result it was a tiny bit dry in places. Service: Service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive but we did not feel overly so. The time between courses was just right. To top the meal off, the chef sent us a complementary molten chocolate cake with "happy anniversary" written in chocolate. A very nice unexpected touch. Only negative was the music - hard rock at times.
Pros: Service, food, repastini cocktail
Cons: Hard rock music did not suit

It has been a year since last time had a dinner at repast restaurant and went back last weekend, It was Saturday night and the place was Packed with midtown crowd. We got there earlier than our reservation so had a cocktail at bar, their coktail and wine list is excellent...we had a "repastini" thier original ginger infused martini, loved it! had two glass each. The owner/chef ( lovely husband and Japanese wife team ) change the menu every seasons, that's so nice and you don't really find the restaurant like this in Atlanta. We had a appetizers,"pumpkin soup", "Tuna beets salad" and " mussle cook in a coconuts milk" and cheese plates. For main course, Pepper corn crusted sea bass, duck with red wine rissoto and hunger steak. Everything out-standing !! Service is excellent and professional, know about foods and wines.. Don't forget to try their dessert! We had a such a wonderful time and give them ****** 5 stars!
Pros: romantic, out door patio, private room. wine list,
Cons: close sunday

We had been looking forward to dining at Repast for a long time, and finally had a chance to visit during restaurant week. We thought this would be the perfect time to try it out assuming that they would be putting their best foot forward. My husband and I both started with the grilled halloumi cheese. It was very fresh and delicious. The entree was ok. We both ordered the special pork dish (it's not on their normal menu). It seemed like something I could have easily made at home...nothing special. The best part about the entree was the slaw and the sauce. For dessert, I ordered the cheesecake, and he ordered the warm chocolate cake. The cheesecake was excellent. The chocolate cake was ok. The worst part about our visit was parking. Half way through our meal, our waiter (who had been great up until this point) told us he'd have to abandon us for a while to help the valet move cars. Apparently, the valet had been illegally parking cars at City Hall East, and they were starting to tow. Could you imagine leaving your car with a valet at a nice restaurant, and coming out to find it had been towed?!?! Needless to say, this left a bad taste in our mouths. Our car had not been towed, but it did take the valet FOREVER to find it. I doubt we will go back. There are too many other good places in Atlanta...especially in the Inman Park area.
Pros: food, martini, ambience
Cons: food, parking, prices for what you get

I found out about $20 deal from web letter. since me and my husband are big fan of repast needed to try out. There is a regular munu plus $20 special menu. Pick one appetizer and an entree, you can chose from 5 dishes. I had a chicken liver mousse for an appetizer and a fish and chips for an entree. Both dishes were so delicious, the size was perfect. and $5 nice glass of white wine. I highly recommend to try their $20 special. I am planning to go back this week again.
Pros: food, service, ambience. price.

So here's what I liked about it. The food, the service and the ambience. Yup. The food was good. They've started a new $20/two deal. Not sure why since it looks like very small portions. So....our table of 4 because we were hungry ate off the regular menu. Pate special--outstanding, charcuterie plate--outstanding, beet salad--very good. Porkloin main--outstanding, duck--outstanding, pork belly and scallops--great flavor......real problem with serving size. Two scallops, a dab of cole slaw and a 1/4" x 2" x 4" piece of pork. Oh yeah, a couple of tiny carrots. Not sure what point they were trying to make here because this was at the most appetizer size.....for $20 somethin' dollars!!! Tasted really good. Dessert?? The banana bread is absolutely outstanding!!!! The chocolate pie, not the molten cake was outstanding. So, from a food point of view it lived up to it's reputation. I also liked the ambience and the outdoor seating area was charming. So what's the problem? Well, in one dish out of 12 served the portion size was way too small. And.....it's noisy as all get out. If you're on a date and you're sitting across the person at the table, you probably won't be able to hear that person. I just spoke to the powers that be there and they said that sitting upstairs might help and didn't seem to have a real concern about it. Too bad. I will have to give it a second thought before I go back. I hate to yell!!! If it weren't for the noise, this would be 5 stars!!!
Pros: Delicous food, good wait staff
Cons: Very very noisy, can't hear the person across the table

I took a friend to Repast to celebrate a new job and it was amazing. A coworker told me to get Daniel as our server because he's really good with the wines, so we did and he was fabulous with everything. I was warned that the portions were small, but we all need to watch our portions anyways and enjoy what actually goes into a dish- herbs and spices. We had the bacon wrapped dates and they literally melted in our mouths. I had scallops and pork belly, which sounds nasty but it was soo yummy! We also ordered the salmon and it got great reviews as well. I will honestly say this meal was my very favorite in all of Atlanta.I will be back VERY soon. Yes I've been to Baccanalia, Wisteria blablabla..... Stay hidden Repast, so there's always room for diners who appreciate good food and wine!
Pros: parking, chef/owner as the host
Cons: closeness of the tables

I have to agree with the negative reviews... and am confused at the enthusiasm of the positive reviews. The ambiance is nice and the service is polite and unobtrusive. But onto the food... We started with the salmon pizzette, which was ok, but too salty and bordering on the oily. We ordered pork cutlets with dried cherry sauce and citrus-mustard topping (or whatever they called it). The cherry sauce was cloyingly sweet, and clashed with the "mustard topping." My best description would be "sweet and sour" gone very bad. We also ordered the macrobiotic composition. (It should have been called "micro macrobiotic")... It consisted of about 3 leaves of baby bok choy, a hunk of uncooked tofu with a too-garlicky green sauce, 3 small cubes of delicious (I wish there were more) stewed kabocha squash, and a few strands of seaweed. We also ordered a side of agnolotti, which were tough on the outside (probably cooked too long). They left a dry, chalky taste in the roof of our mouth. This was our second time there . The first visit was not much better in terms of food or service (we were kept waiting for over 30 minutes past our reservation time). Both times, our stomachs and wallets left hungry, but not for more of Repast's food. Some people may love this place, but we didn't.
Pros: Nice Ambience, polite service
Cons: valet parking, pricey, miniature servings.

I have been to the repast twice this year already and every time go there we have a such a wnderful time and make us come back again . The food , service and vibes are excellent and different from all other midtown or atlanta restaurants. I don't know why people left hungry? well, repast is not an one plate dish fills you up place, it is more like casual fine dining restaurant, you go there to order appetizer, main and dessert plus cocktail and wine, so I Don't want you to expecting to go there to get an over potions one meal south style dish and sprit the dish with friend. We love to go there for Monday 1/2 price wine deal night. They got a great wine selection too.

For my money, the best restaurant in Atlanta. For the serious foodie, you can't beat it. The staff makes every effort to make you feel at home and goes into great detail to explain and give recommendations. I have been here twice and look forward to the third visit.
Pros: Food, Service, Joe the Chef/owner
Cons: neighborhood, but parking is safe

Very, very small portions. High prices. Unfriendly cold waiters. Food inconsistent. Strange seating. The valet service is a pain. You park far from the door. Slow to park your car if busy. Slow to retrieve your car. Charge me and let me park myself! If you go, question the size of every dish you order or you just might be very shocked at the extremely tiny serving size.
