Now I know what all the buzz is about!
by Goodgirl2009
Ok, I have walked by this place so many times and never went in! But I finally got a really cute gift certificate from my boyfriend for valentines day. It covered a fantastic manicure and pedicure, my nail tech Bradley (which is a girl) was the best I have ever had so nice, and cute, my polish (which was dark on my feet) was perfect. I can't believe that I subjected myself to other salons and their unsanitary conditions to just be unimpressed with the service. Oh, and the hours for the working woman are perfect -- open til 8pm on some nights! Ask for Bradley she will massage your stress away and you will leave feeling like a new woman.
- Pros: perfect nail care, clean and sanitary, cool products!
Wonderful experience

Took my daughter for her birthday. Arrived an hour early with no problem. Even if they hadn't been able to take us early, there are shops to go to. Technicians were friendly and professional. They made sure that we were comfortable. It is a cute little nail place. They spoke english!!!! They didn't mind having a conversation with us but also didn't seem to mind when my daughter and I spoke just to each other. They're just regular people. Not stuck up snobs. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
- Pros: relaxing, clean, sanitary, friendly
- Cons: Valet isn't free if over 2hrs
Fabulosity re-defined!

What a great place! So cute AND CLEAN! I've been going there for some time! Always satisfied! Gets really busy and crowded sometimes but that's when it's most fun because you get to socialize with cool people. Definitely not a spa(that's for the the person who wrote a review before me, please educate yourself and look up the word spa in the dictionary before you write something and make fool of yourself! Obviously you work for one of the competitor salons who just can't handle the competition!) I just can't stand phony people Bashing my favorite nail place! PEACE
- Pros: parking, prices
- Cons: can't stop coming back!
Big disappointment

On a whim I decided to treat myself to a pedicure and since I'm leaving town for Christmas in a few days I needed to find somewhere fast. My usual place in Atlantic Station didn't have any appointments, nor did my other place in Buckhead so I chose to go here. I'd heard about it before, perhaps in one of those DailyCandy emails, and thought that it looked like a great place. I knew as soon as I walked in the door that I should have walked right back out. I know they like the colors pink and white, but when you paint something entirely white you need to clean it. I was just barely shown where the magazines and the nail colors were, no one offered me something to drink (standard practice in any good spa), and I wasn't quite sure where to sit. When I asked the girl at the desk pointed vaguely in the outward direction so I sat on the cushions along the windows, which were white and not clean. When I was called for my appointment I knocked into the women seated on either side of me because it's cramped... no individual chairs, just one long cushion with those "husband" things to lean on. The foot towels looked like dirty kitchen towels: disgusting & stained! The girl kept yanking on my legs & feet instead of giving me any verbal direction. You could tell that no one ever scrubs the floor or the moldings on the walls... it all looked like it hadn't been cleaned since they opened. My toe polish looks great, but everything else I could have done for myself at home at the same skill level and not paid over $40 + tip. The icing on the cake is when I had to sit in another plastic chair for my toes to dry with a little fan. The girl who did my appointment never bothered to tell me that my paint should be dry... she left while I was still having my feet blasted to death with cold air. If I had an AmEx card I'd charge back the service because the set-up is subpar and I've never even wanted to do that.
- Pros: complimentary valet
- Cons: lack of cleanliness of space and sinks, skill set of employees, not inviting
polish still on 4 weeks later!

I was surprised to see the negative comments when I came to Citysearch to write a review of Sugarcoat. My experience was nothing short of fantastic. My nail tech was chipper and talkative, and gave a great massage. I went for a pedi almost a month ago and my polish still looks amazing...except my toenails are now too long. I met one of the owners and she was cute and sweet. I wouldn't let the previous bitter (and misspelled) reviews sway me from returning.
- Pros: nice decor, cool products, polish lasts!
- Cons: in the middle of Buckhead construction traffic
Worst Experience at a Nail Salon in my Life! Steer Clear!
by sunflower1331
Firstly, I left in plenty of time to make the appointment time, but because Pharr Rd's sign was down I ended up getting lost trying to find Sugarcoated. I called the Salon and told them where I was in the hopes they would be able to direct me to their location. This was a false hope. I spoke to no less then 3 different people, all of which directed me farther away from Sugarcoated. When my good friend got there she got a customer to help direct me, since the staff was completely unhelpful and just irritated at me.
When I finally got to Sugarcoated, the manager lady told me they could not do the mani because I was late. This was understandable so I wasn't too fussy. Then when I told them I wanted a French pedi, the nail painter threw a fit. It was 45 minutes until they closed but apparently that wasn't enough time. The manager forced the nail painter to paint mine the way I wanted. If I had been refused, I would have just gone elsewhere.
The nail painter had the worst attitude the whole time and gave me the most expensive pedi they had instead of what i asked for orginally when I made the appointment.
When I left with my friend, my friend told me that the manager had been talking bad about me the whole time I was lost. I couldnt believe how rude she was acting to a paying costumer and completely unprofessional. My friend said the manager said things like, "If she isn't here in 5 minutes, then I'm going to refuse her service." and "I can't believe she can't find this place (with a mocking tone)."
Also my friend used her GPS and still was 5 minutes late and they told her they couldnt do the manicure, only the pedicure because of her tardiness.
Overall, the staff and manager are completely unhelpful. They did an ok job on my nails but I would rather spend my money at a business that appreciates my money and business. Do not go and have the awful experience. Steer clear!
- Pros: Goregous shop
- Cons: Every single staff person had the worst attitude, snobby and unprofessional

I have my new nail place! I loved every moment of my pedicure. I actually fell asleep while I was getting my"Escape to Fiji Pedicure" ! All I needed was a Pina Colada to go with the yummy coconut sugar scrub that came with my pedicure. I can't wait to go back for my next pedicure!
- Pros: great colors to choose from!
- Cons: can't wait to go back for my next pedicure
Not so nice!

I went to Sugarcoat this past weekend with a group of my girlfriends. There about 5 people in our party and I feel that while the service was great and i loved how the foot tubs do NOT have jets (minimizing infection) the owner /manager was very rude and not inviting. She really was very rude and alomost makes me NOT want to return. A russian lady named gerdia (sp) saved the day and if not for her me or my friends would never return. The owner had better thank her lucky stars that she has a great team working for her because if it were just her so would be out of business!
- Pros: Tubs without jets to minimoze infections
- Cons: a horibble manager with a nasty attitude. Not friendly at all!
