awesome staff. the food is amazing for it being a bar. they throw the best parties and offer great drink specials. The regulars are down to earth and the tattoos and style make the whole experience enjoyable!
- Pros: graveyard should be your regular spot
- Cons: parking during weekends
good east atlanta bar
by ElvisJackson
I have never experienced the problems i see written in these other reviews. I've always had good service from a diverse bunch of waitresses. Everyone seems very friendly. A good relaxed atmosphere without that "we're so hip" attitude i see in the other bars in the neighborhood. Grab a couch if they aren't already taken and relax. My only complaint has been waiting to pay my tab which can be a little annoying.
Single night-owls, we found your match.

In Short
Looking like a scene that could have been in a Taratino movie, Graveyard Tavern is heaven for hipsters. Vintage couches and impromptu photo booths pair nicely with cheap tallboys of Schlitz and sets from up-and-coming bands or established DJ’s. A singley-minley crowd of youthful 20-somethings dominates the night time hours, but the bar still serves as a decent place to grab a pint and a bite in the early evening. The menu is lengthy and well thought-out -- typical bar staples (wings, burgers) are paired with a few more elegant dishes (crab cakes, arugula salad, pan-seared salmon) -- for a variety of pallets. Being one of the few spots East of I-20 to that boasts pool tables, bar-goers have both that and a primo jukebox for low-rent entertainment. Head over early and have the cool vintage bar to yourself, or head over late when the place is hopping with singles looking to dance. It’s tough to beat either way.
Don't waste your money. Go somewhere else.

I tried this place with some friends on a Friday night and was very disappointed. The waitress took forever to bring our drinks, so we decided to try to the bar - and waited even longer. Fortunately, there were several other places within walking distance, so we did just that.. Don't bother wasting your time or money!! Go somewhere else.
- Pros: You can walk to other places
- Cons: bad service, bad attitude
great place

they've got something for everyone, drinks, food, dancing, UFC etc. I love going there..... it's right next to the gravity pub too, so I normally bounce back and forth between the two which ends up making it a perfectly balanced bar night
- Pros: tons of fun, lots of stuff to do, great staff
bad service
by AndyLee01
The first time i went to the graveyard i had high hopes. but it seems every time i go back hoping things will be better its only a bigger dissappointment than the time before. The service is terrible, the waitresses seem to be more concerned about the way they look than giving me my drink in a timely fasion. I have also tried to aviod the situation by sitting at the bar, the big problem with the bar is that my drink is servred to me by some ahole from new york who thinks he's still in new york.. something needs to change. ill stick to the other bars in the village
- Pros: cool spot
- Cons: bad service
At least check it out

Welcoming, in a weird sort of way, but welcoming all the same. I have a feeling you either love it or hate it here, but you should at least give it a try to see which you think... the food is interesting and decent. The prices match the quality. The staff does tend to remember you ... though they are probably a little too over the top about campy horror flicks...but then again, that is their shtick.
Great Food, Great Music, Amazing Dancing!
by BelaNaomi
Wednesday Nights at Graveyard are awesome! it's swing night, and the house band is great. They play swing blues, and then swing dancers show up and teach a free dance lesson around 8:00, and then a ton of dancers come and tear up the dance floor. what a friendly community! But the food is what rocks too. I have never had a bad order come out of the kitchen. It is delicious. The grilled cheese and tomato bisque is yummy, as are the sweet potato fries, the sandwiches, and the fish n chips! The bartenders are a little off sometimes, but always nice.
- Pros: Ambiance, Parking, Food, Music, Dancing
- Cons: Smoky
Poster child for everything wrong with East Atlanta
by Drkfther66
I had such high hopes. I really did. After drinking in East Atlanta for years, when the old Cycle City Graveyard closed, I saw the Graveyard Tavern spring up and was excited to see what it would be like.
I have been there exactly four times. The first time, there were five of us, we sat at a table on a slow night, I think it was a wednesday. Our waitress, (whom I haven't seen there since, which is somewhat encouraging) took our drink order, then walked away. After chatting with her friend for ten or so minutes, she came back and asked us our order again. Then she dissapeared for thirty minutes or so. She came back with two of the five drinks we ordered, and then we never saw her again. I have been back three other times, trying to give it the benefit of the doubt, and have never successfully gotten a drink. The last time, I sat at the bar for 30 minutes and nobody took my drink order. My friends have been lucky enough to get a drink sometimes, but they've never stayed past one round.
Let me qualify this by saying the following: I am not a newbie to bars. I don't act like a moron or have friends that do. We are easygoing, courteous and big tippers. We are loved at the bars we usually go to. This place has treated me and everyone else I know like dirt.
The clientele seems to be obnoxious yuppies who are "slumming it", and while the jazz trio is a nice touch, overall the atmosphere really really stinks. I can find nobody who likes this bar. The locals hate it, other bar staff in East Atlanta won't step foot in there. The interior space is nicely renovated, but without a staff that wants to work, and a crowd made up of people who should go back to the Dark Horse and stay there, this place is a culmination of everything bad that could have happened to East Atlanta. The sooner it closes, the better.
- Pros: It has nice floors.
- Cons: Everything. Except the floors.
Wow. What a great spot.

I had been to the Graveyard under the old management, and it was a jazz club with average food. We couldn't believe the changes. We went on a Friday night and the DJ was incredible, the atmosphere very young and funky and San Francisco trendy, the place was packed and the bartenders were great (young and good looking). A lot of mid-twenty to mid-thirty year old "Compound" refugees. The wings were awesome too. We were surprised and impressed enough to do this review!
