Terrible Place Unless You Like Attitude
by rfair62 at Citysearch
The restaurant takes reservations, but doesn't honor them. They were 45 minutes late seating us, were generally rude, and seem to have little knowledge of how to run a restaurant.
- Pros: food
- Cons: attitude of staff, not seated promptly, terrible host
Cool place to get a drink but....
by juiceman8 at Citysearch
Cool bar scene and good small dishes, but I wouldn't go for the entrees. Three scallops for $18 and a small wedge of grouper for $19. (my friends needed to get more to eat after we left) Service was slow but courtious. Grab a drink, appetizer, or sandwich and enjoy in a cool environment. Don't make it a dinner destination.
- Pros: scene, drinks
- Cons: value, service
Trendy but for how long?

The Globe is a nice restaurant with very good food. However, service-wise, it needs to pull its act together. My party was seated 45 minutes AFTER our reservation time, and while we were waiting for our table to become available, the bartender was extremely rude and uppity. The hosts were nice and apologetic, but they didn't seem to understand the meaning of the word "unacceptable" and made no attempt to explain the delay in our seating and never offered a complimetary cocktail or appetizer for the inconvenience. The food was very good, and our waitress was excellent. The decor is a bit played out - monochromatic, modernist, Saarinen chairs blah blah blah - nothing really ground-breaking or interesting. I don't think we'll be back.
- Pros: good food
- Cons: rude staff, tired decor
It does not live up to it!!!!

Well, I must say that we went with a party of 8 and we had a reservation for 9PM. First they were late seating us and the service was horrible! The servers could not remember who ordered what and where it went on the table. The drinks came out late and the server never came back after dinner was served. The next time that we saw her she was apoligizing to us. The food was average but dont go for portions because they are very small. The atmosphere was great but I dont think we will return. I will be surprised if this restuarant lasts a year with its young inexperienced staff.
- Pros: Parking, Atmosphere
- Cons: Service, Portions, Inexperienced Staff
Just What Midtown Needs
by jennifer1974 at Citysearch
Globe has a coo, chic atmosphere without any pretension. The menu is fresh and delicious yet still very affordable. i have enjoyed: grouper, scallops, steak, tempura caggies, calamari, shrimp cakes, gazpacho, and panne cotta (on several different trips of course!) the service is always friendly, and the wines byt he glass are really nice. great pear martinis as well. The Globe is the new Toast!
- Pros: atmosphere, great food, efficient service
- Cons: parking
Casual sophistication

A fresh new approach to dining out where quality meets comfort. Everyone should feel at home in this comfortable modern euro style space. It is truly the food that makes this place valid. One leaves with a balanced impression of decor, attitude and superior food at a reasonalble price. We can't wait to go back.
- Pros: EXCELLENT FOOD, creative menu, casual elegance
European trendy

I've been there twice and I really enjoyed the experience. If you're in the mood to put on your swanky threads and dine in style while listening to techno/house music....globe is where you want to be.
- Pros: ambience, trendy
Worth trying once, probably won't go back

Their menu is full of delicious sounding entrees, but don't expect the food to live up to your expectations. It is a unique restaurant with a nice atmosphere, a bit loud unless you are seated in their "library." My sandwich tasted like something from Quiznos, but the novelty of the surroundings made up for it.
- Pros: Free parking in deck
