I am torn ... I wish I could give 3.5 stars; the food here is really quite good. Everything seems fresh and of good quality, and the food has been quite consistent. However, the service can be underwhelming, a few of the servers are friendly and somewhat attentive, while others you have to flag down several times to get any attention, and then after your place your order, good luck seeing them again. I brought out of town friends here one night after talking it up and was mortified when one friend asked what the soup of the day was and the server just shrugged and said 'I don't know' ... we never did find out. Honestly, the bus boy that brings us our water is consistently the most attentive and friendly employee, if it wasn't for him, we'd often have nothing to drink. It's obviously not been bad enough to keep from going back, but every time we go I hope that things will have improved and so far, not so much. To end on a positive note, they have a great menu, and very nice brunch, a cute atmosphere, if you are not high maintenance, you will probably like it.
Pros: food, menu, quality
Cons: service (sometimes)

I went to dinner w/ a friend @ EDS last night & had a very nice, quiet dinner. I had read complaints about the service before going, but didn't experience any problems. Our waitress (I think her name was Danielle) was very nice & didn't come around too much to bother us or too little to not tend to our needs. Our dinner started w/ the cheese plate, then hummus, which was good & garlicky. I had the salmon entree & my friend had the crab cakes. I had no complaints about my entree but my friend said her crab was a little salty. EDS was surprisingly slow on this Saturday night & hopefully they will pick up & stay in business, but there is tough competition in that area. It wasn't the most memorable dinner I've ever had, but it was pleasant & I would go again if I was in the area. Lots of couples there, darkly lit & romantic so it would be a great place for a date, especially if you want to be able to hear your date talk!
Pros: Reasonable Prices, Romantic & Quiet, Good Menu
Cons: None

Not usually one to post a review, but we had to after seeing the awful one below...it is the opposite experience that we have when we go to Eclipse di Sol. All of the bartenders are friendly, from the newest patron to the most regular customer. One of the best neighborhood restaurants you can find. Really wonderful creative menu, but with some great basics too. The best hamburger (and veggie burger) around. My husband swears by the hangar steak. And look out for the mushroom pie if they do it as a special. In fact the specials are almost always delicious too. And all of this for prices that won't break the bank. DJ plays some good music as well 3 or 4 nights a week.
Pros: Excellent food, great drinks inexpensive, awesome bartenders, free parking
Cons: can't think of one

We dined this resturant on Saturday night and the food was fantastic, however I can not say the same for the bartender’s service or attitude. The bartender (bald male) was extremely rude and did not sever our party to the restaurant’s normal standards. He did not take our drink order for some time after we sat, and then he began to take orders from customers who had arrived after our party. We waited and finally one of us had to ask if he could take our order. His attitude was extremely aloof and surly, and he did return to ask if we would like other drinks when we had finished. After waving to him, then him looking directly at us and walking away, we were finally able to get the attention of the other bartender (female, extremely nice and apologetic) to get our check. Unfortunately we had out of town guests with us and it made an awful impression of this restaurant.
Pros: Good food!
Cons: RUDE bartending staff!!!!!

I was completely impressed by Eclipse di Sol. My best friend and I decided to stop in while in Atlanta a few weekends ago for a quick brunch. The waitress was extremely friendly and the atmosphere was really nice, slightly dark with candles on the tables. It would make for a great spot to take a date, especially when it gets warmer and you can sit out on their patio/deck. I ordered the hamburger and my best friend ordered the French toast. Both were outstanding! The only con was the parking...you probably won't find any in front of the restaurant, but there's plenty (during Saturday brunch) on the streets behind the restaurant. I plan to go back every time I'm in Atlanta.
Pros: Food, Ambience, Service
Cons: Parking

Food is good, atmosphere is great, service is good sometimes, other times not so much. Went once with hubby, and we had female server who maybe stopped at our table once the entire night. That was after it took literally 20 minutes for someone to even take our drink order. Went again recently, had JP as a server, and he was perfect! Answered all of our questions patiently, was friendly, and just attentive enough without making us feel rushed.

I can't say enough about this restaurant. I have been going there since they opened and there has been a lot of changes since day 1. First they make the best capirinaha in the city and probably in Cuba. The drinks are made so good and with much care! The food has changed a few times, but here are some of the meals I love. The salmon sandwich, Fried Shrimp Sandwich, Ricotta crepes, Vegetarian sunflower patties, Great pomme fritties with mayo, outstanding Mac and Cheese, Great Seafood Pasta, Hopefully they will keep this restaurant vegetarian friendly considering they are located between virginia highlands and inman park. I like the casual outdoor dining and the home cooked feel of the food. The menu has changed again, but looks good!
Pros: the food, outdoor dining, DRINKS!!!!!
Cons: taking good entrees, off the menu

They just changed the menu's for both brunch and dinner.. fabulous.. prices are a bit higher, but they were too low to begin with.. biscuits and gravy are the best.. along with the lamb shank.. they have done a masterful job of bringing in a new chef, great guy from Aria i think.. he has turned everything around and has become a must visit for anyone on a date or in a group..

Recently tried Eclipse di Sol. Was very impressed with the food, atmoshere and drinks. Prices were reasonable. Service was a little slow and our server did not know the menu very well, but was very friendly. I am sure this is because they are so new. Would recommend trying. I am sure they will continue to improve over time.
Pros: Food, Value, Drinks
Cons: slow service
