DUDE ....here's a great business tip....GET A GOT DAMN DEBIT CARD MACHINE!!!! This is 2008 u know!!!!

I have seen so much money walk out the door due to your lack of point of sale machine, debit card machine.

PLUS...ALL Cash business looks shady, like you're avoiding something.

I used to go there alot, but got tired of having to use the atm machine in the back, Which is broke most of the time.

We visit the Atlanta area every year around New Years. For the last two years we have toured the "Auburn District". While looking for a coffee shop I noticed Javaology, It is so good to see someone take an interest in this neighborhood. Being a coffee shop owner I would like to comment. I am responding to the gentleman who stated that race played a role in his treatment at the coffe shop. I am a white male with a biracial son who also accompanied me to the coffee shop. Our experience was very pleasant. The coffee was average at best and the condiment bar was a very tight squeeze. Besides these things, we look forward to returning in the spring. Also, credit card services can be costly.

• Cons: Did not have ice cream

It is an okay local spot

The best thing is the location and the quaint atmosphere. The coffee was not anything special and the menu items seemed to be mostly packaged goods. I have heard good things so I may have been in on an off day (Saturday).

• Cons: Under performs

Can't Serve You, I'm Talking On My Cell Phone.

Well, despite the fact that I have no clue why a coffee shop would be cash only in this electronic age, I am still perplexed why any business would only take a credit card just to sell you a minimum of $20 worth of their product. I see this as purposely setting out to force repeat business and it completely ignores the I'm-from-out-of-town business or people like me who don't go downtown very often... people like me who don't carry cash.

BUT! on this day, I did have cash, so I decided to chance it. For some reason, nothing on the menu was priced and since the barista had pressing cell phone business, which he conducted at the counter in my presence, I finally left.

Uh, he actually apologized to the person on the phone for the interruption when I walked in and asked him a question. I try to support local business, but in this case, at least I know how much a Grande is at Starbucks and that I'll get it eventually.

Since I couldn't find ANY info on their lousy website to contact the owners about my experience, I decided they could find out the hard way.

• Cons: Expensive, Lousy Service, Cash Only, Creepy Neighborhood

Racial Descrimination? Hmmm ...

Sir, in all due respect, you were booted because you left your car parked in a lot that was designated for a business that you did not patronize. We have a beautiful neighborhood with lots of different people and the fact that you are penning such racially divisive insults because you are unhappy about being booted in a parking lot says more about who you are as a person than it does about the businesses in the area. This is the Old Fourth Ward and if you just bought a house here, you should take some time to get to understand the conservative virtues of Dr. King, one of this neighborhood's most respected residents. He has a line in a speech about a person not being 'booted' because of the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Check character before race. And for the record, boot companies are more partial to green than any other color.

• Pros: GREAT COFFEE (try the Velvet Hammer House Brew) GREAT PANINI (try the grilled veggies with goat cheese) GREAT EVENT SPACE (in the loft above)
• Cons: Serves coffee to ANYONE who will buy it . . . including white people and bi-racial.

I just bought a home in the ole forth ward on Boulevard. I had heard of a cafe that feed the homelss and they need help as far as kitchen staff.

They're lying about the free Wifi

I am always on the search for a comfortable and relaxing place with free Wifi, so when I found out this is exactly what Javaology purported to offer, I was excited to go. The first time I went was about 2:30pm on a Tuesday. The place was packed - so packed that there was nowhere to sit. I left after a couple minutes of lingering and also noticed that I didn't see a single person behind the counter or working anywhere in the place. I came back for a second try - this time at about 10:15am on a Wednesday. There were plenty of seats this time and two people behind the counter, but as I stood in line waiting to order, I noticed a tiny sign by the register. "Free Wifi for customers with purchases of $7.50 or more." $7.50? That's a lot to spend at a coffee bar if you're on your own. I can understand expecting purchases every hour, as JavaVino dictates, but $7.50 at one time is a lot of cash. They have plenty of parking and a variety of food and beverage choices, but as for seating and free Wifi, I give Javaology two big thumbs down.

Coffee drinks and ample parking make this spot a favorite hang among locals.

Also, this locale has a large private space upstairs, which can be reserved for business meetings.
