I called JG & Sons for help with loading a rental truck for my move. I was impressed both by their online reviews and with my first conversation with a gentleman from JG&Sons. After deciding to use them for my move, I called back to schedule and spoke with a woman that took my appointment and billing information. We scheduled an 8:30am move. The night before the move, I received a call to confirm the move from Gwen(?) and she confirmed for 9am. I told her that we had booked 8:30am and she then confirmed the 8:30 start time. On moving day, they were a no show. I called JG&S at 8:45 and was told they were slow moving and should be arriving on site at 9am. At 9:15, we received a second call saying they were on route and would be about 15 more minutes. Around 9:30, Gwen arrived but there were no movers. She then told us they never book before 10am and continued to make excuses about a new girl booked the job, etc, etc. The movers finally arrived at 9:45. JG&Sons offered excuses for the tardiness but made no attempts to fix the time issue before moving day. I would not have booked them if I knew they would not be on time and would not be on site before 10am. We had time sensitive appointments out of state for the day that were missed because of this delay. To their credit, the helpers did a good job of packing the truck and the gentleman to whom I first spoke referred me to eMove where I found fabulous helpers for the other side of the move. The destination crews professionalism helped relieve me of my ire with JG&Sons.

J G & Sons were fabulous. This was only the 2nd time I've used movers and was very sceptical. The first time the movers whined and complained, moved slow, and damaged alot of stuff and the company would not fix any of it. Thomas and his crew arrived at the time specified. Those guys moved -- and I mean moved at top speed for eight hours. Thomas packed that truck tight and knew what he was doing. Nothing was damaged in the move and they took their time with the fragile stuff. Even my curio cabinet arrived safely. They even took the time to take the handles off the fridge door so it would fit and not damage anything. They only sat down for 30 minutes for lunch break at my insistance. All I got was yes, ma'am, no, ma'am -- polite, polite, polite. I spoke to "Dad" as he stopped by just to check on the job and told him he should be extremely proud of the job that was being done and that I would definitely recommend their company to anyone. I even told my realtor that she would recommend them to her clients and feel very comfortable in giving out their name. As a single mom of two and not having anyone to move the BIG stuff, I will definitely call JG & Sons to move me again -- but hopefully I won't have to.

We were moving from Atlanta to Vancouver, and wanted a company that could help us load our stuff (a 4-bedroom house) onto the truck -- lots of stuff, and at a decent price. We found J G & Sons via the Web, and liked them from the start even over the phone. When Thomas, Ricky and Trineka came over on moving day, right on time, our initial impressions were confirmed. They were friendly, efficient and very hard-working, making adjustments as necessary (based on the truck driver's loading requirements) and going the extra mile to ensure that the job was well done, down to the last detail. And just today, our things arrived in Vancouver -- and the Vancouver movers who helped put our stuff in storage commented on how well-packed and stacked our goods were. Except for the top of one bookshelf that bent under the weight of boxes stacked on top of it, everything else was in tip-top condition -- from our glass curio and fragile stuff to our furniture and fixtures, surviving a long cross-country ride from Georgia to California to Canada. The worst moving experience of my life. It took them 10 hrs to move the contents of a 1-bdrm apt and cost doble what it should have cost. Very unprofessional.

Pros: polite and friendly

I liked them a lot. They were late, but it wasn't critical. I had gotten a quote of a flat fee to include my stairs, but it was a small addittional charge once they saw the stairs. They were very nice and very effecient. No wasting of time and you could tell how hard they were working. I will use them again.

I moved from Atlanta to Palm Coast Florida two weeks ago, and J&G did an exceptional job moving our stuff! Everything went very smoothly. I really have no complaints whatsoever, and would highly recommend them for your move! Their price was better than any of the other quotes I received too! After speaking with Jim, I knew that they would do an excellent job, and the quality of the service they provided was second to none!!

Pros: Cared about our stuff, Service: same day, Price

Cons: None!

Great experience! These guys were flexible when uhaul lost my reservation. They moved my 2 BR apt in the pouring rain in 2 hours, and were careful in handling and protecting my furniture. Use them!

I had scheduled an appointment with another mover, but he didn't show up the day of the move. So at the last minute, I contacted JG & sons. They were were willing to help us on such short notice, even though it was 95 degrees + outside. They were fast and efficient with the move. I will certainly use them in the future, especially considering what a good deal they are. Next time, however, I will take the knobs off my dresser first (they broke some of the knobs off).

I have used these movers twice and have been pleased with both my in-town move and out of town move. The movers were pleasant and quick. I would highly recommend them after moving several times with other companies.

Pros: reasonable rates, friendly service, on time delivery

A move from a 1BR on the 2nd floor to a 1BR on the 4th floor with a freight elevator took FIVE HOURS. I moved the prev. year in under 3 hrs. which included two sets of stairs, shrink wrapping and setting up of the bed. None of my property was wrapped or set up, yet it took 2 more hrs. The men were EXTREMELY slow, I had to comment to get them to start moving, and they took a lunch which was included in my rate per hour. When I called to complain the following Mon., I was greeted with a very unresponsive almost hostile manager. If you are thinking of using this moving company, please think twice. The rate is reasonable, but they will take advantage of that. My move took 5 hrs. exactly to the minute. Doesn't that seem like a coincidence?
