Nice Little Place

by BNSupra

We went for dinner during Downtown Restaurant Week. They offered a three course meal for $25 p/person. Some standouts were the crab cake appetizer, the Sauteed shrimp and mussels, linguini with tomato basil, and Churrasco steak with creamy potatoes and fresh vegetables. The jumbo crab cake was rich and succulent with a fresh mango salsa topping. Although the seafood pasta was large it was lacking flavor. However, the seafood itself was seasoned and cooked well. The pasta sauce could have faired well with some cream and spices. The steak was cooked perfectly. Some items were mediocre such as the side of veggies, potatoes, and desserts such as chocolate mousse. Service was wonderful and it's a great little spot with good live music.

  • Pros: Portions, price, variety of food
  • Cons: After live band leaves mediocre music takes over

Excellent!

by Candance

The freshest food for the best price! Had my cards read several times after a long day at work and a martini or glass of wine. The employees are like family to all that come in and give the best of service. They know your name if you are a regular and always provide good conversation at the bar. My favorite picks are : mussels, catch of the day, fish tacos (best seller and only about 8 bucks!) and the mojito. Parking is free and the Belly is a great place to unwind after a long day. They have specials almost every day, like: Monday (ladies night, free small meal), Tuesday (Ladies free drinks from 10:30-?), Wednesday (all you can eat tapas for $10) and more! Take a night and discover the Gypsie kitchen family at Django- you'll be a regular after one taste!

  • Pros: Free parking, great fresh food, atmosphere
  • Cons: The rolls!

Decent food but horrible service

by life311

I was embaressed when I brought out of town guests to this restaurant as I tried Django for the first time. Our waiter did seem friendly, but it was obvious this was either his first experience as a waiter or just really should not be a waiter. After waiting close to 30 minutes after placing our appeitizers, I questioned our waiter on when they might arrive. He responded telling me he didn't enter the appetizers until after our orders, so they are going to come out at the same time. He didn't apologize or try to rectify the situation. He just said it matter of fact like I should be fine with it. Then our orders all came out and then he brought out the appetizers. He also took about another 30 minutes when we asked for our check.

We got there at around 8:45pm and the restaurant was empty. People didn't start coming in this place until around 10pm. The crowd as all seemed like an after hours for the service clientel.

I really wanted to like this place - and the food was decent - right above chain food, but definetly below exceptional.

Django leaves alot to be desired

  • Pros: Its brave enough to be in downtown Atlanta.

Great experience & food

by kemeers

I was highly impressed with the food & chill vibe at Django's. Definitely try the mixed green salad w/ balsamic dressing - it was very well prepared and tasted delicious. Also had the chef's special ribeye and Djangotini, both of which were excellent. Just as impressive as my meal was the vibe - very cool, down-to-earth bartender/server, as was the rest of the clientele. Definitely give this place a try - either for dinner or just drinks. Didn't make it to the Belly but I will be back for that. Park in the lot past the restaurant on the left for $3.

We went to Django with a bunch of friends for a birthday party last Friday. We ordered many appetizers and mojitos, which were recommended by our waitress. Although it was a little loud, the DJ was playing really good music (R & B and reggae). I really enjoyed my food (spring rolls and calamari) and thought the prices were reasonable. Overall, my girlfirends and I had a great time.

Hipsters flock to this eclectic Midtown hot spot to get their groove on.

In Short
Trendy barhoppers will appreciate the host of choices at this gypsy-inspired joint, allowing them to roam through the roomy main bar, the secluded back patio or the intimate basement lounge, where DJs and dancing take center stage. Live entertainment is a big draw on the weekends. The French-Mediterranean menu includes mussels, mahi mahi and baby back ribs. Late-night options and a selection of martinis are also on tap.

What a Fun Place

by Jennifer30309

We had a friend's birthday dinner here and the food and service were great. The pate appetizer was really good, and I had the grouper for dinner, which was fantastic. The best part was that it was not very expensive. There was a magician who came to our table and did cheesy tricks, and the whole atmosphere was fun. My friends were late arriving and I spent about an hour chatting with the bartender, who was so friendly and helpful. I woudl definitely go again.

  • Pros: good prices, good food, drink specials
