I heard about Aveda through a friend. The reviews here also seemed decent, so I decided to give it a try. I had shoulder length wavy hair, which I wanted cut and layered. I asked the student for suggestions...she told me that she would reduce the length and would do a point cut which would have the appearance of layers. Even though she seemed thorough with the washing, the cutting took a while, which in itself would not have mattered if it had turned out ok. But, the cut made it seem like I had worn a tepee on my head. My wavy hair was standing out, despite the products that she put in it. The cut had in fact achieved the exact opposite effect. Instead of appearing less dense, my hair now appeared more dense and unruly. For a student of hairstyling, certain things should be apparent. It was apparent that the cut totally did not suit my look. The supervisors seemed too nonchalant to notice anything. I would hate to rate a place poorly based on one visit. May be there are better students, but I probably wouldn't risk another visit.
