I thought that Merlot was a nice addition to the Suwanee area. It is an upscale restaurant with a great menu and ambiance for the burbs. I work in Johns Creek where their original location was. I took many clients there for dinner and was sorry to see them relocate. My good fortune....they relocated 2 miles from my residence! There aren't too many upscale white table cloth dining opportunities in Suwanee (none), so I took my better half a long for a celebratory dinner. The decor and setting was very romantic...wait staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and competent.....great menu (Bruschetta, Scallops and seasonal Pumkin Cheesecake desert were all delightful).....and the place has a seperate large upscale bar area with two flat panel TV's with football featured this partculiar evening. The bar area would be a great spot to have a cocktail on busy Friday and Saturday night while waiting for your table! The wine menu was fairly extensive and reasonably priced. I think that Merlot is a great addition to Suwanee and look forward to stopping in again to try the filet.

Yipes! There is nothing to recommend about this place except a very personable waiter named BJ. It used to be located in Duluth on Medlock Bridge but recently moved north to Suwanee. I took my husband for a birthday dinner and apologized all evening. It's now located in a strip center. The decor is ... well, there is none. The cesar salad swam in dressing. The filet mignon was ... well, I don't know what it was, but certainly not a filet, being thin and tough to cut, let alone chew. With all the great dining in the northern suburbs, there is simply no reason to go to Merlot.

I recently held a function at Merlot's and was extremely happy with both the food and service! It is always a challenge serving 45+ people at a time, but they did it in a superb manner. The owner is great and ensured our function was perfect. I highly recommend the steak; however, everyone was very happy with whatever they ordered. Great restaurant!

They have a great new chef... we have been in a couple of times in the last month.I always get the fish special & my husband gets the steak... we have never been disappointed! The Calamari is one of the best!
