RooterPlus - extremely expensive!

I requested a free estimate from RooterPlus along with another plumbing company. RooterPlus' estimate for clearing the kitchen drain blockage was more than twice as much as the other one I received. The RooterPlus technician was such a "good" sales person trying to fool me to use his service. I am very disappointed. I had my kitchen drain blockage cleared for $195 (instead of over $420 from RooterPlus) and the result has been good so far.

Rip Off,Suspicious and Deceptive Techniques

I had a basement leak between the sewer pipe and the wall and called Rooter Plus. The plumber suggested to dig the yard from outside and find the source of leak. the price was a whopping $1083.00 to dig and put cement patch from outside. After we agreed and the digging process began,he said he can smell raw sewer and there could be a sewer pipe break cauing the leak. They used their camera and confirmed there are loose fittings and root hairs. Rooter plus suggested re-line process to fix the sewer pipe for $12000.00 Yep twelve thousand.They even suggested their own company who does this kind of repair and could start right away. Since it was getting dark we told them we want time to decide and postponed the next day. In the meantime we had the county inspector and another plumbing company come the next day to check and confirm what Rooter Plus found. Upon inspection it was found that there was no sewer pipe leak and the leakage was due to waterproofing issue which we got it fixed for $225 later. Also the patchwork for which we paid $1083 did not work since it leaked when it started raining again. These guys made a mess of my yard, did not perform the work they were paid for correctly, and tried to cheat me off $12K. I reported them to BBB and I am trying to get my money refunded. Stay away from this company.
In addition to getting ripped off and almost getting cheated out of $12000 I forgot to mention that I got talked into signing up for Rooter Plus Discount Club membership (which is a bunch of crap) to service my AC for about $200. Their already jacked up rip off proces will not buy you anything at all. Had I not done would have cost me about $200 more for the original repair, so what the heck I signed up. Big mistake!!! If you have guys like this show up and encourage these discounts membership, get them off the property. Once you sign up and let them service your AC, not sure what mess they'll create and/or create additional repairs which are actually not required. It seems these plumbers work on commission basis and the more customers they sign up for these discounts membership means more $$$ for them. BEWARE!!!
Also please check homereports website (at your own discretion) to find reputed service providers instead of calling anyone and getting ripped off.

RIPP OFF ALERT

My mother (74 yrs old) has been ripped off.... She called on a leaky hot water faucet in the bath tub. The service man replaced 3 knobs.. that a similar product could be purchased from Home Depot for $20.00, included 3 hours of work, (he must have had lunch on her dime) and 18.00 gas charge... And CHARGED her $661.00 on the complete bill !! BEWARE !! BEWARE !! BEWARE !! I am also reporting this to the Better Buisiness Bureau.
Update....Agreement Met: After speaking with the Sec., they are reducing the charged amount to 275.00 for replacing the 3 Knobs !!!

I bought two faucets and a garbage disposal from Lowes and needed them installed. Total estimate from RooterPlus: $1392 ($464 each) for the install.
Even if a screw on faucet took an hour to install, that is almost $500/hour.
When I pointed out that was a huge hourly rate, he dropped the total price by $500.
Needless to say, I went with a referral instead for a grand total of $300.
Also... I can't believe they added their own review below instead of just adding a comment. Atleast they only rated themselves 4 stars instead of 5... :\

I lined this company up to pump my septic tank in an emergency situation. They had previously pumped it in 2 months before and there was obviously more involved than needing to be pumped. It was backing up and they came out to pump the system. I waited an hour beyond the time they were going to be there, but things happen. When they arrived, we discussed what the problems could be and they wrote out a quote. I told them I had spoken with someone who had quoted less, so let's just pump it. They refused to pump it leaving 4 people without showers and unable to use the water system without it backing up in the house. I called his supervisor who told me that I had had such a bad experience with them that he thought I should call someone else.

i had rooter plus take care of my backed up sewer line. It was a mess.they told me the price it was going to be and that was it. no extras. There price was good and the sewer was taken care of. If people want to get there plumbing issues taken care of call these guys!

Pumped septic tank; very pleased with management. Septic tank was full, called for pump out. Came next day. Very pleased with General Manager. He was helpful and addressed our concerns.

In response to the previous post:
The customer called the following day and expressed her concern for the amount charged - nothing was said at the time the invoice was signed. We refunded 25% in good faith because all customers are important. We immediately sent a manager to the house to fix the fence. The same fence that the husband handed my tech some wire cutters to cut down because "we are getting rid of the fence anyway." When my manager arrived on site the homeowner did nothing but praise our company for our prompt service in resolving this matter. FYI - the customer's septic system is working properly just as we said it should.
