Fabulous Meal and Service
by mngsaunders at Citysearch
The meal that my husband and I were served last night was Fabulous, Flavorful, and Outstanding. Megan (our wait staff) was well educated on the menu and a delight. We decided to order the specials of the evening. The chicken wrapped in filo dough tapas was unbelievable. The sea bass was served with noodles in a wonderful light and flavorful cream sauce. Wow! The prime steak could not have been prepared more perfectly. Served with stuff red peppers, carmelized onions in portwine reduction. Amazing flavor! We will definately be back and will spread the word. Kudo's to the family for creating such wonderful and unique meals. Loved our experience:)
- Pros: Great Food and Service!
- Cons: None
Excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere
by Dunwoody Mom at Citysearch
My husband and I ate at Sugo (Clocktower location) for the first time on a recent Saturday evening and were completely blown away by this gem of a restaurant.
We ordered several tapas items as our meal. Our favorite was the butternut squash tortelloni, a seasonal special. It was tender and flavorful. In fact, it was so good, my eyes actually rolled back in my head when I ate it.
Also excellent were the fried asparagus and the pumpkin cheesecake, and my husband said his cup of decaf coffee was so good, he wouldn't have guessed it was decaf.
The only miss we had food-wise was an heirloom tomato special. It was good but not remarkable and for us, not worth the $14.95 we paid for it (although, knowing the price of heirloom tomatoes, I wouldn't suggest they were overcharging, it just wasn't worth it to us).
This restaurant really seems to care about using quality ingredients and preparing them well.
Service was good, although not outstanding. Our waitress was reasonably attentive, but we certainly never felt rushed. There was one time I would have liked her to come to our table sooner, but she was at the next table running through the LONG list of specials.
Our meal, including one dessert and one coffee (but no alcoholic drinks) came to under $50. The last nice restaurant we went to was the much-hyped Craft, where we paid about three times as much for less enjoyable food -- and less of it -- and didn't enjoy it nearly as much.
The atmosphere is nice but not too formal. They have a kid's menu as well, but the place is relatively cozy, so I would only come if your kids know how to behave in a restaurant -- a couple of rowdy children would likely disturb the whole dining room.
This restaurant has immediately become one of our new favorites.
- Pros: Fresh, creative, delicious food
- Cons: Parking a little tight

A must visit for anyone in the Roswell/Alphareta area
by BennyS at Citysearch
I take out of town visiter and my ITP friends here all the time. I am not normally a tapas fan, but this place has the best I have ever had. The meatballs are an absolute must!!!! If you arent into tapas, then the rest of the Italian food is also amazing. I took an italian friend here for the first time and he is now constantly going back.
Equally as amazing as the food quality is the very reasonable prices. No matter what we order or how much i get to drink, i am never shocked at the bill and always think what a great deal it is.
The historic roswell location is better than the one off holcomb bridge.
- Pros: AMAZING tapas, great prices, top notch service
- Cons: cant think of anythign
Simply... the best ever.

Sugo has the best Italian/Mediterranean cuisine i have ever tasted. All dishes are made to perfection in a flavor incomparable to others. The Absolute brilliant chef Fred Castellucci has created flavors that will amaze your buds.
Try any Special available because they are truly special.
- Pros: Great flavors in every dish
The Best Italian Food and The Best Atmosphere for Fun and Romance in Atlanta!!
by ToniDore at Citysearch
Fred and Nancy Castelucci take Italian to the highest of highs. From the moment you enter their restaurant you know you are someplace special. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the entertainment ( we are talking about Fred, here!!) all combine to make for an evening that is magical. Love this Restaurant!!
Wine Dinners and Warning
by atlwinechick at Citysearch
We attended a Sunday night wine dinner that was very well done. The winemaker was in attendance from Italy, spoke great english, and came around to talk to each table. There was also live music, and a charity benefactor. The food was well prepared and for the most part complemented the wine. Although the baklava, delicious on it's own, seemed way too sweet to go with the dessert wine it was paired with. Since not serving a food that is sweeter than the wine seems like basic wine pairing knowledge, I asked the winemaker what his thoughts were. He replied that it would never be paired with something that sweet in Italy. Nonetheless, the $60.00 per person charge was reasonable and our service was good. BEWARE though: the bill is presented before your meal and includes tax and tip. The fact that the tip is included is not stated on the receipt, or the website as far as I could tell. When I called to get an adjustment to our credit card, I was told that "tax and tip are always included". Personally, I don't mind this practice as long as it's made clear to me. All in all, I would definitely recommend attending a wine dinner at Sugo.
- Pros: Wine Dinner
- Cons: A Little Noisy
I am not going back again to eat brutal italian food.
by renmonteiro at Citysearch
The apetizer, i.e. steemed mussels, was good but the the main dishes were
too brutal. The food at this place is comparable to a big italian food chain and
there is nothing formidable to it. For excellent and light italian food, go to LaGrotta,
which, in my opinion, is the best italian restaurant in Atlanta. Service was also
mediocre. The waiter tried hard but he simply was not sufficiently trained. He has
committed too many errors and in the end, despite my request for a very strong
expresso, he brought me instead a strong watered coffee which I was not able to
drink. A italian restaurant that does not know how to make a good expresso should
not be classified as italian!
So, I am not going back again.
Good Hybrid food.

Sugo Greek Italian Cuisine is pretty good. Service is good. A little pricey, but you get a lot of food. Owner is a little snobby, lofty acting, but oh well.
Overall good experience.
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: pricey
Recommend...but with a disclaimer
by mt30067 at Citysearch
The key to enjoying this restaurant is managing your expectations. The feel is neighborhood family restaurant, not intown fine dining - so your expectations of service, presentation, and offerings should reflect such. Exactly what this restaurant is going for seems a little confusing as the entree prices aren't your typical family restaurant prices. They could easily cut back on the portion size on some of their dishes to make the entree prices more in line with the ambience and service of the restaurant. While the menu is limited (especially when it comes to pasta options), many of the entrees are focused on flavor combinations with a multitude of components (e.g. Federico?s Pork Braciole). Some of the more simple entrees comprised mostly of a protein and caramalized onions are good, but nothing special. The unique experience, overall good food, and Roswell location will encourage a return visit.
- Pros: Location, Food
- Cons: Prices, Unpolished wait staff, Parking, Wine list
