Sugo Greek Italian Cuisine is pretty good. Service is good. A little pricey, but you get a lot of food. Owner is a little snobby, lofty acting, but oh well. Overall good experience.
Pros: Good food
Cons: pricey

The key to enjoying this restaurant is managing your expectations. The feel is neighborhood family restaurant, not intown fine dining - so your expectations of service, presentation, and offerings should reflect such. Exactly what this restaurant is going for seems a little confusing as the entree prices aren't your typical family restaurant prices. They could easily cut back on the portion size on some of their dishes to make the entree prices more in line with the ambience and service of the restaurant. While the menu is limited (especially when it comes to pasta options), many of the entrees are focused on flavor combinations with a multitude of components (e.g. Federico’s Pork Braciole). Some of the more simple entrees comprised mostly of a protein and caramalized onions are good, but nothing special. The unique experience, overall good food, and Roswell location will encourage a return visit.
Pros: Location, Food
Cons: Prices, Unpolished wait staff, Parking, Wine list

The meal that my husband and I were served last night was Fabulous, Flavorful, and Outstanding. Megan (our wait staff) was well educated on the menu and a delight. We decided to order the specials of the evening. The chicken wrapped in filo dough tapas was unbelievable. The sea bass was served with noodles in a wonderful light and flavorful cream sauce. Wow! The prime steak could not have been prepared more perfectly. Served with stuff red peppers, carmelized onions in portwine reduction. Amazing flavor! We will definately be back and will spread the word. Kudo's to the family for creating such wonderful and unique meals. Loved our experience:)
Pros: Great Food and Service!
Cons: None

I love this place. I think that the manager is the father of the owner of several sugos - I see him nearly every time I visit. He takes the time to visit each table to get feedback on the food, and if you desire, he'll tell you why it's so good. Very interesting guy. We enjoy taking our parents here when they visit, as well as our kids. The ambience is very nice, but not stuffy. Excellent service - and the food is not like any other italian restaurant I've ever had. Prices are not overly expensive, but not inexpensive either. I think it's a good value for the cost.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure to stay in a quaint Bed & Breakfast in the hill towns of Tuscany and been served amazing culinary preparations unlike anything touted as “Italian” so typical of the Italian restaurants of America… then you’ll fully appreciate your dining experience at Sugo. This is not “typical” Italian, but more accurately, authentic Italian. Some claim Sugo to be Mediterranean.. Authentic Italian cuisine is Mediterranean. I call Sugo “Italian”… but yeah, it’s a mix of a little Italian, a little Greek, and a whole lot of “unique”. I don’t do big nationwide mass production, processed food restaurants. At Sugo, its fresh prepared daily, just like in the old country, just like at home. I read one of the other reviews here. It was less than appreciative, rated the restaurant very poorly. That reviewer couldn’t be more wrong; said something about being loud, fake, well rehearsed, bland food. Clearly that poster was looking for another “typical” restaurant. In fact, the bread is fresh baked all night long, so if it takes a bit time… its worth the wait. The ‘C’s” are native’s of Rhode Island, so expect a big New York “Hi! How are ya! Look who’s here!” of a welcome. Mr. C is a master architect when it comes to ingredients and preparation. With each bite your mouth with go through a culinary "mouth explosion" as you try to decipher “wow, what’s in this?”. Take your time, go slow, and savor every bite. You’ll be tempted to scarf. Don’t! Make it a slow indulgence. I’ve made an entire meal by ordering a smorgasbord of tapas. Try putting Eggplant Montassio, Hunters Sausage, Euro Mushrooms, the Geek Salad (amazingly different!), and Pan Aglio y Olio together. I've had everything on the menu, but I'm partial to the specials! My favorites menu & specials: Pork Paladar, the Braciole, and High Tide, Lamola, Saltimboka, Tallagio, Involtini. Say hello to Robert, Heather, Krystal, Zata, Sara, Nancy (Mrs. “C”), and of course Mr. “C”.
Pros: Quality, consistency, friendly, value, service, unique, flavor.
Cons: Wish there was one in Michigan.

Sugo has become the home away from home for my group of friends whenever we are in town. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, the music (generally soft italian opera) and lighting are both just right, and the service is always well informed and attentive. The dishes are all masterpeices, truly new ways of cooking here in the states. I have tried most of the tapas and several of the entrees and have yet to be dissapointed. There is an excellent choice on the menu for a good variety of foods. I really enjoy the pizza rollatini, lamb saltimboca, hunters sausage, aunt lena's chicken, the salads, and any special I have ordered has yet to let me down. Wine flows freely and the desserts leave you wanting to order every one on the menu, especially the bomba and the tiramisu. I would highly reccomend Sugo for a private party - the last time I was there I peeked in on a group that had reserved the back patio, probably at least 50 people! There were christmas lights and candles and such a festive and jovial feeling in the air I wished I was a part of it. Sugo will continue to be the meeting spot for my friends and I whenever we are in Atlanta.
Pros: service, FOOD, wine list
Cons: can get busy

Sugo was recommended to me by a friend. Best friend I might add. She told me that it was her new favorite restaurant in atl; this was hard to believe seeing that we have lived here 10 years and eaten almost everywhere. Man was she right, best friends never lie!! I went for my b-day with her and 15 of my girlfriends, when we walked in the hostess greeted us like we were walking into her home, I later found out that it was one of the owners (a husband and wife team). Our server was very knowledgeable and recommended that we try one of his favorite wines, which was very good for the price (14 hands cab). I had a lamb dish that "MR.C" convinced me to have by the way he described it, saying that he hand made it in the morning and cooked for something like 5 hours. I had the "Bomba" for desert, which was sung to me by one of the servers whom is a trained opera singer. The only negative I could find about sugo is that we had to wait a little more than expected, however I found out why people were willing to wait, THE FOOD!
Pros: Everything!
Cons: wait

i came into sugo restaurant a few weeks back. the hostess was very fake and loud. she scared me. my wife and i did not make a reservation so we were asked to wait about 10 min. we agreed, walked up to the tiniest bar i had ever seen and had to fight the crowd for a cocktail. when we ordered, the bartender rudley said 'NO, WE DONT SERVE LIQUOR'. and he walked away never to return. we were seated after a thirty five minute wait. when i waitress arived, very promptly, she told us this description of how much goes into the food as far as preperation time, the high quality ingrediants. yada yada ya...now usually we dont really ask/want bread at places, but seeing that we had to wait, my wife was kind of hungry. we did ask for bread about three times before it finally came. the waitress told us they bake it fresh to order.... YEAH RIGHT! after hearing the well rehersed "specials" for the evening from the waitress, i had to order it, it sounded too good to be true. and when the food was brought out. it was too good to be true. horrible presentation. the dish was smaller than the food that was on it. it looked like a bunch of ingrediants just thrown togather. the taste was defiantly something i had not tasted before. but it was okay. we did have dessert and wow the limoncello' was awesome. when the bill came i was shocked at the price of the food. i felt like i had been sold on something that broke on the first day of use. horrible. way too much money for what i received and i will not be back nor recommend this to friends.
Pros: limoncello'
Cons: pricing is horrific for food that is horrible

It was my first time there and it was great. The owner greeted us and took us to our table. It was my friends bday so he was made sure we were treated well like royality. Our waitress made sure we had everything from drinks, food, dessert and much more. Some of the associates knew it was our first time and came to our table to see how we liked it and made sure we were in great hands. We got free desset and a free drink for the bday girl as well a free toast for the 4 of us. It was a great experience and I know I will be going back. The food was great and so was the service =)
Pros: Parking is free if you go to the one at Perimeter
Cons: may get busy but its worth it
