My dog almost died, another's dog lost
by yehuang at Citysearch
I took my puppy to Morningside to be neutered, and the staff told me they would not operate if his bloodwork/fecal test results were abnormal. After surgery, he seemed fine at first but then days later got very sick and almost died. Took him to another vet, who requested records from Morningside and found that his test results were, in fact, highly abnormal prior to surgery. When I confronted Dr. Morris about why she operated on my already-sick dog, she admitted that she "should not have operated," but still refused to refund or even apologize. The good news is, my dog is healthy now after being hospitalized for over a week at another animal hospital.
If you're thinking of boarding your dog here, don't -- I read on Kudzu (and have seen signs around town) that Morningside lost this family's dog while they were on vacation, did not inform the family for hours, did not help in the search, and still billed the family full price.
Go to Morningside only if you do not care at all about keeping your pet alive... or keeping your pet at all, it seems.
- Pros: none
- Cons: unethical, poor customer service
