I stumbled upon this forum quite by accident and I have to say I was shocked to see some of the comments. I have been a client at true for nearly 4 years, shortly after they opened, and while no business is perfect (I own my own as well), I am always impressed with their commitment to excellence. My hair always looks great (that is what I'm paying for), the two stylists I have used are both professional and friendly and I have received loyalty discounts on both my hair and products I have purchased. I did have an issue once when my color wasn't what I had hoped for but Ava, the manager, was quick to return my call and get me in the following day to have it corrected. One time in 4 years is much better than what I have experienced in past salons. I like that they always call me to remind me of my appointment because my stylist is hard to see (that is why I have seen one other one) and I have to make my appointments a month in advance. I like to think the fact that it is hard to get an appointment is because they are so good. As far as I can tell, all their stylists work full time and are always busy. If you wait until the last minute, there is no way to get an appointment - they are the only nice salon in West Cobb and I have been to many to make this claim. I hope you enjoy true as much as I do. They are really good, accomodating and the salon has a nice, comfortable atmosphere. Try Stephanie or Heidi. Best wishes.
Pros: I always love my hair!
Cons: expensive (but not arrogant)

I've been going to True ever since March 2006, however, many issues arose that caused me to never come back here again. It has always been an issue getting an appointment with my stylist! How come that is ALWAYS the case when calling two weeks in advance?! Apparently True salon doesn't want to keep the business on their repeat clien who had spent $$$ there! Recently they have changed their phone number-no courteousy notice, no card, no call....poor customer service-awful managment! My stylist was the only reason thet kept me going there-she is very professional, nice individual-even sent me a card last Christmas-please note the card was from my stylist personally-not from True!!! True salon "true"ly leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Don't waste your time or your money here.
Pros: great sylist
Cons: very poor management, luck of customer service

I love the hair stylist at the salon and the atmostphere. But the ladies sometimes seem a lttle down. I couldn't quiet place it at first. Then I saw it with my own eys. This lady is the wrost manager I have ever seen! To put down the employees like she does. I want return to this salon as long as this lady is the manager. One poor girl was crying because of this manager told her she was useless. I hate telling store like this but what a waste. My hair styist is leaving because of this manager and I don't thank THATS FAIR !!!
Pros: GREAT STYLIST
Cons: BAD MANAGEMENT

The staff is attentive, the atmosphere pleasant, an overall wonderful experience. My wife has been going there for a couple of years and raves about the place. I decided to ride along one day (50 miles roundtrip) to see what the hubbub was all about. They were able to squeeze me in for a haircut and the rest is history. We were going to Vegas that weekend and they turned my wife into a Desert Fox!!!! True is also in a very nice retail center with great restaurants and stores, a very enjoyable experience!
Pros: Very attentive, professional staff! Great services and products!
Cons: Need to open a True closer to me!

I used this service to find a good reputable salon in the west cobb area and thought that aveda true salon looked like a wise choice. I clicked on their website and requested an appointment with one of the more "impressive" looking staff members to get no response at all. What good is having internet booking if you don't monitor it. Anyhow, after a day and a half of no response to my request, I called to see if they had received it. I gave them my name and that I was requesting an appointment with either stylist A-who is on maternity leave, and B-who doesn't take new clients. As I was told this in a half cynical, Nasty-nice manner, I gladly said thanks and have a nice day. I hung up the phone feeling good that I just saved myself over $300 most likely for a hair do that at the end of the day is not going to transform me to look like Claudia Schiffer. Thanks AVEDA, my husband will be pleased. By the way- there is nothing prestigious about The Avenue, it's an outdoor shopping plaza, and anyone can shop there. To all mothers, they have a no children policy.
Pros: Flashy Name
Cons: Price, Customer Service, Good luck getting one of the Higher Ranked Stylists

I've been a "Lynda" fan and client for the last 8 years. As a colorist, there is none better, anywhere, period. She is a Master Colorist for Aveda and teaches all over the USA for them. Is it inexpensive to get your color by Lynda? No, it isn't. Is it worth the cost? Absolutely! If you want top-notch, you have to pay for it. Kelli cuts my hair and it always looks awesome. I've paid 2-3 times as much to have my hair cut in Manhattan and Atlanta by "celebrity" stylists and not had cuts as good as I get from Kelli. I just started going to Courtney recently. Again, if you want a super-star, you have to pay. Courtney teaches globally for Aveda, I think she is fantastic. I've had my eyebrows tinted, shaped and waxed, and my eyelashes tinted for $90 - I think that is reasonable. Added bonus, Courtney gave me a mini-massage while we waited for my eye-lashes to dry. To sum it up, you get what you pay for. At True, I feel I get a lot for my money and they make me look and feel wonderful too.
Pros: Top-notch quality and service.
Cons: Make appointments in advance for the "stars, " they are in high demand.

I recently moved to GA from NJ and had some bad hair experiences in GA til I found True. Mandy is my stylist and she is wonderful. She understands me, she is extremely talented and I always walk out very happy with exactly what I asked for. They do not push products either, which I find terribly annoying at other salons. My cut, highlights, and toner treatment were very reasonable at $100. Some reviewers have said that this salon is overpriced, I disagree. From salon experiences, you should always ask first about pricing and make choices and you'll never be surprised by your bill.
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, excellent service
Cons: Ask about pricing before service

I've been to True several times, however, many issues arose that caused me to never come back here again. My stylist got more clients, which caused her to leave me in the chair a lot while cutting, and had another person come in to finish me up. The results, of which, were horrible. If a stylist is going to charge 55+ a haircut, that stylist needs to do the job through and through and continuously do the job well, not leave you alone and have someone subpar to finish the job. At another trip to this salon, I was charged over three hundred dollars for something that should've cost half that. You'll never know how much your bill will be. Stylists charge extra for things you don't even know you're getting. True salon "true"ly leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Don't waste your time or your money here.
Pros: nothing
Cons: overpriced, fake, unprofessional

I went to True Aveda Lifestyle Salon a month or so ago. It is very appealing for the eyes, the customer service was great, and the stylist were definitely above par, BUT when I got checked out, the bill was much more than I have been charged at other comparable salons. Come on, I think for my brow wax alone, I was charged $45.00 (not including tip.) Other than this, the salon was good.
Pros: atmosphere
Cons: price
