Great service, great value!
by allirae at Citysearch
I've been to three of the Spa Sydell locations for services including massage, facials, and air brush tanning. I've always received outstanding service, and the price and convenience is unmatched. I recommend Spa Sydell to my friends and co-workers and have heard nothing but positive feedback.
- Pros: Convenient locations
Spa "Supreme" & "Top Class"
by CaroLyna1 at Citysearch
I visited the spa this past weekend, and what a delicious treat. The must ask for services are the facial by Asali E., the pedicure by Irma A., and the massage by Jeri R. And don't forget to order their delicious "Gourmet Lunch". Everyone from the front desk to the spa technicians were just wonderful. I can't wait to get back there for my follow-up appointments.
- Pros: The very best facials, pedicure and massage

- Pros: Charles's massage !!!
- Cons: The spa not that clean
Avoid Like the Plague

I tried to go to Spa Sydell for a manicure and pedicure before my wedding, and it was a huge mistake. I have always received adequate service when I had a massage or a facial, but the nail technician was another story. She was not friendly and inconsiderate. On top of that, they only had five colors to choose from for my polish. I immediately left only to return from my honeymoon and discover that they had charged me a no-show fee. I could not believe it! The only good thing is that after several phone calls, I was finally able to receive a refund for the charge.
- Pros: Parking
- Cons: Service, Nail Polish Selection

I feel asleep from my ne hour massge for 2 and a half hours with no interruption. Now thats what you call great service. If you have had a long stresful day let spa sydell help take some of your troubles away.
Too scared to go back

Sydell Harris - I hope you read this. You are the one that can change things for the better at the Midtown location.
I visited the Midtown location of Spa Sydell in the middle of April. My husband had given me a half-day spa certificate for my birthday and I wanted to redeem it with a massage and facial. I arrived early and everything seemed OK although I could not find a locker that would lock so that I could safely store my personal items. After finally finding a locker that would lock, I was greeted by the technician who was going to give me my massage. As she worked through the massage she kept telling me to breathe deeply and relax. OK, I need to relax. Then I was told I was fat, needed to go to the gym more often, I must hunch over my desk all day and that's going to turn me into a hunched over old lady. I was also told that I might want to consider going to a yoga class more often. And if I couldn't make it to a yoga class, that I really needed to consider getting some yoga DVDs. Basically, the techinician was saying that I was fat and too tense and that's why the massage was, in her opinion, not going well. Instead of being pampered, I was being punished. This technician was clearly frustrated about something and was taking it out on me. I was in tears and abruptly left the room to put on my clothes. I did not stick around to receive any of the other services I had scheduled that day. To their credit, the manager was mortified and did reimburse me for the massage and added $50 to my gift certificate. The manager acknowledged that there have been problems at this location and that she was brought in to improve things. Quite frankly, I hate to see anyone lose their job, but I hope this massage technician was fired. I want badly to name the techician in this review but I won't. I'm not here to smear anyone's name or reputation but they must improve their approach to customer service at the Midtown location.
- Pros: convenient location, free parking
- Cons: rude staff, facilities are aged and run down
Dont waste your time

Are you kidding me? This place calls themselves a spa, what a joke? The employees are rude, and unprofessional. Went one time and upstairs they are out of tea and water. The spa room was dirty with towels everywhere. I tried to give it another shot cause I live right down the street from it, made an appointment then when I showed up thrity minutes before time the lazy staff with major attitude said that I was not on the books and I must not have made an appointment because they close at 7:00. They did not even say sorry, they just acted like I was crazy and stared at me. I will NEVER go to any Spa Sydell location again! I have called the manager and will be shocked if she calls back to ensure quality customer service...doubt that.
- Pros: location
- Cons: rude staff, dirty, unprofessional, poor customer service
way too pricey for what you get
by ahoran at Citysearch
For my first massage experience, it was an okay one but way too overpriced. The thing that bothered me the most was that my therapist talked the ENTIRE time. As soon as we were done talking about something, she would have to bring up something else. I couldn't fully relax. The best part was the leg massage, and the ambiance was nice as well. I will probably not be going back because the spa on paces has much better reviews and at $15 cheaper. I didn't know if you should normally leave a tip but now I wish I hadn't, I spent a 15% gratuity on her so the whole deal came out to $100, for a massage that I don't even think lasted the entire hour. I'm fairly sure I was screwed on time but I don't know. I hope massages are better than this because frankly I don't even want another one.
- Pros: ambiance, friendly service
- Cons: massage and price
Avoid Spa Sydell!!!

I was looking forward to FINALLY using 3 old spa gift certificates that I had received as gifts for my upcoming 30th birthday, but was informed that I could not redeem them because they are over 2 years old. That's over $400 of my friends' and families' hard earned money that they flat out STOLE. I am a VERY busy person and unfortunately haven't had time to take off a whole day to spend at the spa until now. I looked forward to a nice relaxing day at the spa for my 30th, but now I have to inform my friends and family that all their generosity went to waste. Money is money... these gift certificates should not expire. I realize prices may have changed, but I was more than willing to pay the difference. I will certainly be telling all of my friends and family to never buy me another gift certificate from this corrupt company again, and I warn everyone to avoid this unprofessional business like the plague! They aren't even that great of a spa to begin with.
- Pros: None
- Cons: They steal people's hard earned money
STEAM ROOM ARE NEVER WORKING : WASTE OF MONEY: DRIVE THRU DAY SPA
by CRYSTAL2008 at Citysearch
I HAVE BEEN GOING TO SPA SYDELL FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. I DON'T KNOW IF IN THE PROCESS OF GROWING THE BUSINESS THEY FORGOT TO INCLUDE CUSTOMER SERVICES. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING BACK TO THIS DAY SPA. ALL YOUR SERVICES ARE RUSHED THEY PUSH YOU IN AND PUSH YOU OUT. DAY SPAS SHOULD BE RELAXING IN THIS CASE YOUR JUST A NUMBER. THE LAST SIX TIMES I HAVE BEEN TO SPA SYDELL AT THE BUCKHEAD AND MIDTOWN LOCTION THE STEAM ROOMS ARE NEVER WORKING. THEY SHOULD MAKE CUSTOMERS AWARE OF THIS WHEN MAKING APPOINTMENTS. WHEN YOU WALK OUTSIDE THE SPA THE THERAPIST ARE SITTING OUTSIDE SMOKING LIKE THEY ARE IN A BACK ALLY SOMEWHERE. CUSTOMER SERVICES RATING THEY GET A NEGATIVE 99. THE CUSTOMER SERVICES IS REALLY BADD. THEY ARE TO MANY DAY SPAS IN ATLANTA THAT PROVIDE A RELAXING ATOMOSPHERE. THEY ARE ALWAYS OVERBOOKED AND FOR THE PRICES THAT YOU PAY YOU CAN GET BETTER TREATMENT ELSEWHERE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRIVE THRU SPA UNLESS YOU ARE IN A HURRY TO GET SERVICES.
- Pros: MANY LOCATIONS
- Cons: RUSH SERVICES; OVERBOOKED & OVERPRICED; BADD A** CUSTOMER SERVICE
