OLD FOOD
by Echosteam
Some of the most disgusting meals ever. Could be a cool place if they cleaned it up a bit. Always smells like foul beer and the food always seems not so fresh. Friends got sick there and we will not be back.
- Pros: Great spot
- Cons: Horrible service,Gross food
Cabbagetown at it's finest!
by JME2K3
Before I went to Estoria for the first time I looked it up here to read the reviews.
It's astounding to me that people whine and complain about service at a CHEAP BAR! That's not what you're going there for. You're going there for the relaxed atmosphere, the cheap food, and the cold beer. This place has it ALL.
I live in the Stacks lofts right down the street, so it's SUPER convenient for me. I go every Tuesday and whenever else I can. The food is always great, the service is always friendly and attentive. I mean what can you expect?
I've always found the staff super friendly and easy to talk to. You may have to flag them down to get something you need, and they might forget to bring your ketchup out for your fries, but that's what's SO great about it. It's just a down to earth place to enjoy yourself.
Keep up the good work everyone!
- Pros: AWESOME burgers and AMAZING fries
- Cons: can get chilly during the Winter months. Wrap up!
Horrible Service
by kokoATL
My husband and I have been to 97 Estoria many times since it opened. Over the past year or so, the service has gone way down hill. It was never great, but now it's horrible. Last night, we went there for a pitcher and some dinner. We ordered food. After an hour, it still had not showed up. People who ordered at least 30 minutes after us had their food. My husband went in to check it out. The waitress and the manager basically said "Too bad, the order was put in, it just hasn't shown up. You're being irrational" We were left with no other choice but to walk out. This happend to us at the Earl a year or so ago. The waitress and the manager came over, apologized, and comped the whole meal (there were 4 of us dining that time). THAT is what I call great service. And we have been back many times to enjoy Atlanta's best burger...The Earl Burger.
We will never EVER be returning to Estoria. This place is dead to me. The food wasn't that great anyway.
- Pros: it's close to my house
- Cons: service, food, too loud, annoying hipsters
don't eat just drink
by ladythomas
Like many other trendy bars in Atlanat this place seems to thrive on the bad service. If you know the bartender you'll have a better chance of getting a drink. The food is terrible but what can you expect, it's just a bar after all. The best thing they had in the menu, the thai green beans, is no longer on the menu, thanks to TGI Fridays (I'll NEVER eat there). If your looking for a place to get some pitchers with friends then definately go here. Don't go to estoria looking for something good to eat, it's NOT going to happen.
- Pros: atmosphere
- Cons: food
Amazing Wings!
by robotosdemuerte
Great for an afterwork drink or meeting with friends. Every food I have tried has been amazing, especially the wings and prices are very resonable. The service however is slow.
- Pros: Food, Atmosphere
- Cons: Service
Good, fast, cheap--this neighborhood joint pleases in all the right ways.

The Scene
Though a rustic hunting lodge feel pervades the main dining and bar area, its rough edges are softened by avant-garde touches--a characteristic the bar shares with its neighborhood. Groups of Cabbagetown pioneers sidle up to tables and booths where wine glasses intermingle with PBR drafts and lime-garnished Coronas. Friendly conversation drifts from the singles at the bar, aided by the amiable barkeep. The ample wood patio offers a relaxed place to take in the historic residential neighborhood.
The Draw
This is a neighborhood spot through and through, but the cheap food and drinks should attract those roving for the next best little bar. While the fare, ranging from a pulled pork plate to the more ambitious lamb sandwich with brie is inconsistent, it's hard to complain about the affordable prices. The juicy, half-pound burger is a sure thing, as are the accompanying addictively crispy fries.
Great food, crummy service
by kchris320
Have to agree with some of the other reviews here. The patrons are ecclectic and relaxed, and the space is comfy and unpretentious. Thai green beans are a must-order, and every sandwich I've eaten there has been delicious. But the service...yuck. We were there a few Fridays ago, pretty early in the afternoon. When the bartender/server was finally able to tear herself away from her admirers in the bar, she managed to screw up our drink and food orders. After the shift change when she thankfully left, nobody else thought to check our table until we walked up to the bar to ask for a new server. It's still a fun place, but make sure you have plenty of time...
- Pros: Food, price
- Cons: Service
Home away from home
by whatda
97 Estoria feels like you just stepped into your buddy's cabin and you are all there just having a good time! The atmosphere is the best around. The service is personal...the kid's catch on to names and faces really quick and make it a point to treat you like a friend. The jukebox is eclectic and they have board games available for people who sit in the 'living room' area. It's always easy conversation and stout drinks
Ahh, it's my most favorite watering hole.
go there now
- Pros: atmosphere, eclectic crowd, thai green beans
- Cons: smoke
