First of all, very pleasant service is guaranteed at West Egg. Second, a great place for breakfast food served with a unique twist. I'm a big fan of the Green Tomato Breakfast wrap and the pancakes with honey butter. In an unusual location on the West side of the city but well worth the ride for its food, service and price.
- Pros: Service, Breakfast foods, Cupcakes and price
- Cons: Location

This is a neighborhood spot for me and I really love the service and the great coffee shop style vibe. They have a great selection of coffees to choose from and their breakfast dishes are varied and affordable. I really appreciate that they offer very traditional as well as more creative breakfast options. The service is always friendly. I brought cupcakes to a client meeting instead of standard donuts and they were thrilled.
- Pros: Great Breakfast, Affordable, Friendly Service
- Cons: None
Brunch was great. But where's the cupcakes?

Brunch was delicious. I had the french toast and a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. I must say that the biscuits are some of the best I've ever had. I was a little disappointed to find out that they were out of the cupcakes I had heard so much about. I wasn't too pressed about it, but my girl insisted we come back the next day (Sunday) a little earlier to try to get one. On Sunday I got the banana bread french toast which was just as good as the regular french toast but a little heavier. This time we were lucky enough to get there while there were still 3 cupcakes left. My girl had our waitress reserve them for us, but apparently the message didn't get delivered and another waitress sold them to a different table. Cupcakes aren't really my thing so it didn't matter much to me, but my girl was upset... needless to say, it was a little harder for me to get the cupcakes after we got home.

West Egg is a cool place with great food. Their breakfast is awesome. They are cool with kids which is hard to find around here. Wet Egg is a great neighborhood place to eat.

I love West Egg!! They have the best coffee, breakfast and lunch! And they also have great cupcakes. The Apple Jack Chicken sandwich is my favorite! They also have excellent service!

I stopped by around 12:30 on a Saturday with a friend. We were seated within 10 minutes but it did take a little while to be seen to by our waiter. We both ordered a menu special that consisted of egg and turkey chorizo. It was very tasty as was our sweet tea. Portion and price were reasonable as well. I was hoping to try the Coca-Cola cupcake but they were all out by the time we got there. Same with the chocolate chip cookies. However, the red velvet cupcake we tried was delicious. The icing was buttery and the cake was moist. I guess next time we'll try to get there a bit earlier so we can try the others before they run out! The only real negative I have is that the parking was valet and I prefer to hang onto my keys if possible..personal quirk. We parked a few blocks away and walked. Maybe after the massive construction happening all around it is over the parking problems with be over, too.
- Pros: Great cupcakes, cute atmosphere
- Cons: Parking's a mess

I came in for lunch today and to pick up my dozen assorted cupcakes. My lunch went very well and the food was delicious; however, the service at the counter to pick up my cupcake order was HORRIBLE!
I was standing near the counter where I saw my name on an empty box. A young girl with a brown West Egg hoodie came by, asked if I needed help. I said I was here to pick up my ordered (I pointed to the box). She said "You can pick it up", when I didn?t immediately do so she repeated herself 3 times, each time speaking slower and clearer as if I didn?t speak English or I was retarded. When she grabbed the box and opened it and saw that it was empty all she said was "OH". I then asked her how she felt after trying to make me feel like an idiot. Her smug response was "I feel fine". No sorry nothing.
She packed up my order, charged me my $25 gave me my change and said nothing more.
I?ve e-mail Jennifer the owner twice with no response what so ever. The disappointing cupcakes matched the disappointing service.

I wish I lived closer to Howell Mill just so I could eat at West Egg more frequently. The menu is incredibly diverse, as well as the staff. I recommend the Fried Green Tomato Wrap, a large glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a biscuit - which comes with cinnamon butter. Well worth the drive into the city.
Best grits, great biscuits, oatmeal and OJ, and cupcakes too!

West Egg has been a welcome addition to West Midtown. The food quality and value is great. Serving breakfast and lunch to a hip, local, artsy crowd with kids. Customers are diverse and have discovered West Egg is a small haven for patrons with kids. It wasn't always this way, but has become more so as of lately. Therefore, as I prefer a quieter, more adult atmosphere I no longer frequent West Egg but do adore their grits and appreciate their selection. The basics of omelettes, biscuits, benedicts, etc. along with pork, turkey or soy options, with specials which usually include a Mexican inspired breakfast burrito, to caesar and teriyaki salads and unqiue sandwiches makes this eatery a happy medium for all. Making the experience all that cheery is their homemade cookies and cupcakes! Service is good, food is great and prices are fair. The nearby construction of the White Provisions complex makes parking difficult. Off street parking available around the corner on Brady.
- Pros: menu options, grits, location, value
- Cons: wait can be long as w/ any breakfast joint, parking
