Not worth the money...
by Chef of the Future at Citysearch
First, the space is great! Big, excellent lighting, warm feeling, good amount of energy in the room. Our waiter was top-notch, very knowlegeable about the offerings, details about ingredients, etc. Very affordable wine list with several at $20 and $30, all the way up to top shelf-$150. One of the best Butternut Squash soups ever, except served in a tall V-Shaped coffe mug, making it difficult the scoop out every last drop. Crab Fritter appetiser was very good as well, but not a difficult dish to perfect. I ordered the wood fired chicken breasyt expecting a "Roasted-Juicy" meal. What I got, in addition to two very small breast was swimming in broth, with diced carrotts. I ate one bite, and couldn't get the flavor, then another, and still a bland, smoky taste, a third bite, and the only overwhelming thing I tasted was "smoked" chicken. It was not described as such on the menu. Our waiter was more than gracious in offereing to replace it with anything on the menu - WITHOUT an attitude... I ordered the Flank Steak and Frittes. The portion I receivedv was much smaller than the guset sitting right next to me. Our waiter also explained that "It's what everyone orders here". Bite one, same smoky taste as the chicken, bite two, more of the same. Needless to say, I brought half home for the dog, as I was looking forward to a nice juicy piece of meat, not something tasting like smoky chicken. My girlfriend orderd scallops, shrimp, with grits. Her dish was swimming in sauce as well, and it was a very sloppy presentation. The scallops were cooked perfect, except there were far two few for the price. Chocolate Dessert was excellent, very good cup of cappucino, however $8 for a snifter of Sambuca seems more like Manhattan, not Atlanta.
Our bill, with a $30 bottle of wine was $118, with a $22 tip = $140. Totaly overpriced for the quality, consistency, and portions of food. Great spot for an after theartre drink and desert.
- Pros: Berautiful Decor
- Cons: Two different Entress tasted the same
Grizzly meal at One Midtown

We took part in the Halloween special last night at One Midtown. We live in the neighborhood and always enjoy the creative decor of the large restaurant, but I am consistently disappointed with the food. The most outstanding negative came last night in the form leg of lamb. I watched my boyfriend slowly work through mounds of connective tissue and fat. It definitely fit the bill as a ghastly dish on the Halloween menu. What really frustrated us was the response from the waiter when he asked how our dinners were as he cleared the plates. I said so-so, he quickly dismissed us and said great, thanks for coming.
- Pros: glitzy decor
- Cons: impersonal service, poor quality control
Great Food & Atmosphere
by Naka at Citysearch
I ate here with my boo-diddy we had a great time. The host, Bob, was very amiable, and our server (Roberta) gave us great suggestions about the menu. I had Steak Frites and they were nice and tender. He had the Duck and it was oh-so delicious, even the lentil! We had a great time and enjoyed the atmosphere. Thankfully, we came when there wasn't a crowd but by the time we left it was starting to feel a bit cramped at our table-for-two.
- Pros: Service, Food
- Cons: strong marguerita, tables kinda close
This isn't starting off so well

This will be my 1st visit to One Midtown Kitchen, I'm celebrating with my wife and a few friends have both good and bad things to say about OMK, so I'm deciding to check it out for myself, we have reservations at 8:30, I called a couple of hours in advance to request a booth, before I can even explain what occasion or event my wife and I are celebrating, I'm rushed off the phone by, "BOB". I'll post my review if we have dinner there, after being rushed off the phone I'm not so sure we will even go!
Well, Bob turned out to be a great guy so maybe I was the one acting an a$$ on the phone, (I've been known to ba an a$$hole quite often) nonetheless, the food was decent, the service was excellent, Our reservations were for 8:30, we arrived around 8:20. I requested a booth and we were seated as soon as we walked into the restaurant. Our Waiter "jose" was excellent, all in all, I'll visit one again!
- Pros: Reservations at 8:30
- Cons: Rushed off the Phone confirming Reservations.
Loved It

Great food & atmosphere and the service was perfect. Incredible desserts too. Loved the concept of the price tiered wine list as well. I'm really looking forward to going back again.
- Pros: Atmosphere and service.
- Cons: The food was great but definitely not your typical American fare so dont expect basics.
Didn't do it for me

I?ll get right to it here. The food.....starters were OK, one soup delicious, Caesar salad so so. Main, brisket, the chef's specialty, nicely cooked but not a lot of taste nor was there a lot of taste in the risotto which was more like really soggy tapioca and I wasn't too jazzed up about the balsamic cabbage. Desserts you ask?...Well the chocolate thingy with mint ice cream was really good. Fresh mint in the ice cream. The lemon tart was so-so. Not a big lemon taste there. So far just fair. You ask about service? Well, our waitperson Bernie was terrific and she and her wait partner really worked the room. Had a hitch with the food runner. Our entree was delivered to the table with us having barely finished our starter. The plates were still on the table. The guy gave us attitude as if we had done something wrong. I wasn't aware that we were supposed to clear our own table. I guess the entree plates were hot. OK, that's gotta hurt but when he saw the first course plates were still on the table he should have put our dinners down on the side (plenty of room for that), collected the plates and then served the dinner. Frankly that really ticked me off although when I mentioned it to a responsible person they were concerned and said they?d make sure they fixed that. Good answer. Also had a little problem with port being served with a ton of sediment. I think we're blaming that on a well-meaning new bartender who just needed a quick lesson. He should be good to go after that. All in all, with about $150 in gift certificates to Fifth Group restaurants, I have a funny feeling I'm going to have trouble spending that dough and I live a few steps away from Tap and Trois. It?s a shame. They really need to work on consistency and flavor. We?ll wait and hope for the best.
- Pros: Good wait staff
- Cons: Mediocre food
customer service lacking

We went there for our anniversary and reserved a booth 3 week in advance, when we arrived a booth was not available, and we were seated in a table for 2 sandwiched between 2 tables of 4 people tables (very loud people. Food is 7 on a scale of 1-10. I would recommend it for a casual dinner not for something special.
- Pros: quick seating
- Cons: Poor Service

One of my top 10 dining experiences ever!
by remorlw at Citysearch
I know Atlanta has a lot of great restaurants so when I was there recently I looked for something special to try out. The menu on One Midtown Kitchen's website hooked me. I'm vegetarian and there were several items in the 'small plates' section that appealed to me, including their '3 from the garden'. Excellent food, great service and their wine tiers make up the best concept in a wine menu I've ever seen at a restaurant.
I enjoyed my experience there so much I had to go back again in the same week (and wasn't disappointed)! There wasn't a specific vegetarian entree but I'm sure the chef would put something together as an entree if asked, especially if that's mentioned when making a reservation. However I was more than satisfied with 2 small plate choices each time as far as quantity is concerned and would strongly recommend those as you will get great tastes of several different items.
When I say this was one of my top 10 dining experiences (actually 2 of my top 10), that puts it in outstanding company as I've dined at Bishop's and Lumiere (both Mobil 4 star in Vancouver), The Maisonette in Cincinnati (Mobil 5 star) and Ming Tsai's Blue Ginger among others.
- Pros: excellent food, good variety for vegetarian, excellent concept for wine list
- Cons: none
