Great tacos and half-off food 4-7 pm every day
by LisSaunders at Citysearch
Fun vibe, good crowd, great food. Visit any of the five locations (soon to be a 6th in Tucker) for a unique sports cantina & taqueria experience.
- Pros: great variety in menu; good drink specials
- Cons: like all of Midtown, parking can be tough
This place ripps you off with their over priced drinks

I had the worst dining experience since moving to Atlanta 15 years ago in this resturant. I have tried both stores, this one and the one up on Holcomb Bridge Rd. They both consistantly bite. They actually have the nerve to charge you between $10.50 - $12.50 for a shot of Patron and then bring your food to you cold. My advice to you if you come here is to "Dine at Your Own Risk"
- Pros: Could not find any
- Cons: Food and drink prices
Sometimes the Karaoke is Great; sometimes it stinks!
by MDF2 at Citysearch
We used to love going to karaoke upstairs at Taco on Saturday nights. Then, this DJ started working the Karaoke who was simply the most vile individual. he would talk over the songs, inserting his own un-funny commenst about anything vile and immature. He's not there every week, but when he is the crowd really dislikes him. It really takes away from a good night at Taco.
- Pros: Sometimes a great DJ
- Cons: Sometimes a crappy DJ
Great Place, But Be Careful Upstairs
by atlJammy at Citysearch
My friends and I had a great time here last weekend. The music was great and so was the crowd. One thing that kind of freaked us out though was the older male bartender that was working upstairs on Saturday. He was fine at first, but as the night went on and after I saw him take a few shots he started hitting on my friend (a male) and being really aggressive, telling him what he wanted to do to him, etc (we are all straight) which was a little awkward, but we still managed to have a great time. I just hope the floor never caves in up there.
A great place to dance, drink and eat!

Twisted Taco is one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. I have been there to eat, drink, dance and to meet guys! This is truly a great establishment and services many purposes. It will always be one of my favorite places to meet good looking, single men in their late 20's early 30's.
Despite the reviews, I thought I'd try it...

...I won't go back. I thought I'd have a margarita in my neighborhood on Cinco de Mayo. I read the reviews here and decided to try Twisted Taco anyway. I ordered a margarita off their menu, and it came in a 6 oz. plastic dixie cup (no salt, either). When I placed my lunch order, I asked the server if they always serve their drinks in plastic. Apparently just half of last week and this weekend because of Cinco de Mayo (?). She did take my drink away and bring it back in a pint glass...no extra tequila...just more s & s mix...with some attitude on the side. Burrito was fine, but nothing to rave about.
If you are looking for fraternity-house atmosphere in a place that's trying (and failing) to mimick Coyote Ugly's style, you will find what you are looking for here. If you are looking for good Tex-Mex and margaritas made by people who know what they're doing, look elsewhere. Great for 18-23 crowd.
- Cons: weak drinks, bad attitude (and not in a charming way)
WORST BAR IN ATLANTA
by SK30327 at Citysearch
Twisted Taco in Midtown is the WORST BAR IN ATLANTA. The staff is rude, and they need to learn how to treat their customers. I will NEVER return to this bar, and I plan to tell EVERYONE I know not to go too! Only go if you want to have a TERRIBLE time! The food is nasty and the bartenders do not pay attention to their customers. I guess you can't totally blame the bartenders because the problem obviously stems from management (they are the WORST!), so maybe the bartenders don't know any better! There are so many other places to get a taco (try Taco Bell....it's better) or to get a beer (even Wal Mart sells beer)...so don't waste your time by going to this cr@p hole. Or better yet, go around the corner to Opera and take your chances of getting shot.
Worst Place to Go in Atlanta
by jtatum at Citysearch
This is by far the worst place to go in Atlanta. A friend of mines birthday was going on so we all decided to go and she thought it would be fun. The food was horrible, we found two long brown hairs in our food! Gross! Then when we paid they over charged us. Our waitress had long brown hair and was so rude, along with the rest of the staff. We were planning on staying longer, but it was such a horrible experience that my friend topped it as one of the worst birthday outings ever. I've been to several places in Atlanta and never had as many rude waitresses as this place, and the owner even worse!
- Cons: Bad Service, disgusting food, and overall not clean!
The best Tuesday night stand-up comedy show!!! Something different, and great for a first date! Excellent Value!
by christofurr at Citysearch
I am only going to talk about the Tuesday night comedy show (upstairs) at the Twisted Taco.
For the last 4 weeks I have gladly driven all the way from Gwinett County to see an average of 9 different professional stand-up comedians per show. Each week that I have gone, there have a variety of different comics, and never the same jokes twice. I have never been disappointed. For only 7 bucks, you can see a live show with hot new comedians, as well as famous vetrans of the industry that perform on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, Comedy Central, and many other shows that come on TV! ---UNBELIEVEABLE VALUE!!!
- This is a GREAT place to take a date, but only if you do the following: I recommend reserving a table for the show. I also recommend eating elsewhere before coming, simply because the service definitely has room for improvement, (20% added gratuity gives the wait staff NO incentives to excel) and the upstairs is too small and crowded to accomodate the new-found popularity of the show. These are the only drawbacks that I see.
I am still shocked that these famous comedians choose to perform in such a small place, but am extremely grateful that they do! Right now it all seems too good to be true, so I am thinking that you should check it out before ticket prices go up.
- Pros: The Tuesday night comedy show!!!
What a dump
by destroy17 at Citysearch
Food is gross and overpriced and "Phat Comedy" is anything but funny. Waitresses are snooty and the drinks are weak.
- Cons: parking, people, food, service
