I've been twice. I found the sushi to be very good, quality sushi. On both occasions, noted a racial undertone (against blacks). We were spoken to in a way that others would not have been spoken to. Chefs were far more friendlier to the white patrons at the sushi bar than they were the black. But the main problems: (And I know sushi, by the way) -- they are overpriced. And the service is extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeemly slooooooooooooooooow. That was particularly bothersome. I don't recommend it. I've certainly known better.

Pros: Fish was good. Place is cute.

Cons: Racism. Very slow service. Overpriced.

MF sushi was the big word in japanese restaurants of atlanta but being a person knowledgeable in sushi, this was a very big upset! too expensive for the quality i was served! maybe it was a bad day but i feel like i paid for the ambiance more than the food! I WANT GOOD FOOD IN A RESTAURANT!!! if i wanted ambiance i would go to a club or a nice bar. not traditional sushi, nor is it true-fusion

Pros: great ambiance

Cons: customers pay too much for the ambiance

The sushi is by far the best quality and taste in town. The service is ok. It all depends on the server.

Sushi doesn't get better than this in Atlanta. It very nearly competes with the best of the West Coast as well. The Toro is very good here. Start with the Sushi Combo for 1, and go from there.

Pros: Outstanding sushi, service, and atmosphere

Cons: Value

It was rated number five on one of Atlanta's most romantic places to dine. I agree! I luv the ambience. The wonderful selection of sushi and the best service in town. My favorites are the cucumber and seaweed salad, the tony roll, california roll and the Godzilla roll! I haven't made it to sashimi yet but um sure that it will be very delicous.

over price food that's not even any good. Chef with a mind set of most people are stupid about sushi. But to those who knows sushi, this place looks pretty and the food is so so. Couldn't see why all the hype is about.

I am an individual whom cannot eat seafood that is not fresh, i will get allergic and needs pills or injection to stop my shortage breathing and rashes. After dinner at MF that night, i experienced my allergy. So i most definately do not reccomand people whom are allergic to unfresh seafood to go there.. Even if you are not, it means that you are eating unfresh food.. at your own risk.

I've tried MF Sushi several times. I really want to like the place. But every time, I come away with the same impression: food is fresh but nothing special, and the servers act haughty and as though you are putting them out. I've dined at the sushi bar and at tables, with large and small groups, with reservations and as a walk-in, and my feeling is consistent. There are too many places in Atlanta that make you feel welcome, or at least not as though your presence as a paying customer is a nuisance, for MF Sushi to consistently behave that way. The only thing I can figure is it is their feeble attempt to keep the restaurant's reputation as exclusive?

Pros: Fresh food

Cons: Snobby service, parking

I don't understand the hype. Finally went after years of hearing about the quality of the sushi. It's super expensive for what you get (try the $40 deluxe meal - you don't get but a morsel of the cheapest, crappiest fish), fish were not fresh, and the modern, hip, midtown decor just doesn't mesh well with traditional food like sushi. Actually, I wouldn't have a problem with the decor if they had the quality of fish like Blue Ribbon Sushi in NY but without the sushi quality to back it up, this restaurant sadly becomes yet another one of those overpriced, overhyped places with nothing but fancy decor. Maybe I just happened to go on an "off" day (fyi Fri) but that doesn't change the fact that this place is overpriced. Save your money and try better places in the metro area like Haru Ichiban in Duluth. You get more sushi for your money and the quality is excellent esp if you time your visit right after they get a fresh batch in (important to develop a relationship w/ the chef so he'll tell you when). This is the reality of most sushi shops in America. You just don't get deliveries of fresh fish every day. I'd like to suggest the chirashi deluxe at Haru Ichiban for $26. Has a plethora of fish variety and is very tasty. Don't forget the add-on salad for only $1. Another place you can try is Sushi Yoko in Norcross or Umezono in Cobb Cty (both owned by the owners of Tomato Japanese grocery store) for good value. May not get the best sushi but certainly better than many and much of the crowd is Japanese. I'd like to rate lower than 2 stars but considering there are globs of mediocre sushi houses in ATL that ppl rave about but really deserve 1 star (i.e. Nickimoto, Harry & Sons, Rusans to name a few...), I'll give it 2 stars. And this rating is ADJUSTED for Atlanta. We can't even compare with the real places in NY, LA, or the homeland, Japan. Spent $140 (incl tip) for 2 and kept thinking about how much money I wasted for what I ate.

Pros: cool, modern, hip interior for those that like it. Good date place for the twenty or thirty-somethings.

Cons: too expensive, fish not fresh, all about looks

If you would like eating mediocre sushi in a loud, claustrophobic, and expensive disco,by all means go here for a meal! After being told numerous times to eat here,I can't express my regret enough! The dining at MF Sushi Bar is all about being seen and not about what you are eating.

Pros: I'm still trying to figure one out?

Cons: Too many to list
