Fabulous Turkish eats in an unassuming, low-rent shop.
by Ryan Sims at Citysearch
In Short
Right next door to Variety Playhouse in the delightfully eclectic Little Five Points is an unassuming little gem where Mediterranean (Turkish to be exact) delights are served cheap, fast, and from the heart. From the inside and out, the place has a vibe of a Lower East Side Manhattan ethnic stop. The large gyros not only have traditional tsatsiki, but also a red, tangy sauce as well that makes the pita wrapped sandwich. Tabouli, falafel, hummus, and baba ganoush are important to try, and an appetizer plate will set that up. Make it a destination, or grab some falafel waiting in line for the Variety Playhouse doors to open. Exteriors aren’t everything, and this little joint shouldn’t be overlooked.
Love Ali Baba!

Ali Baba is my work lunch spot and I go there on a weekly basis. The gyros are tasty and very big. The combos (a gyro and a side) are under $7 so it's perfect for a quick bite to eat. Highly recommend it!
- Pros: The lamb gyro is delicious!
not authentic med'n food
by shammyd at Citysearch
If you're interested in a watered-down version of med. food, try it out. If you're looking for something authentic, look elsewhere.
Ali Baba was recommended by an American friend as the best mediterranean food in ATL - boy was he wrong!! being from up north, I was expecting some good good food. 20 bucks later, i was truly disappointed. The food was a mixture of different cuisines - but primarily turkish and it was americanized (hot sauce and tomato pasta sauce...ewww...they don't serve that in any middle-eastern country's cuisine).
- Pros: Good service, good people, popular(if tht counts
- Cons: NOT AUTHENTIC, AMERICANIZED
Best Veggie Wrap ever!

Excellent food and service. It is true that the location can be a pain, but the trip is worth it. I grew up in Detroit, which offers some of the best Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food in the country and I feared I would never find it here. I was wrong, Ali Baba's has been a pleasant surprise.
