I hired Chandler when I recently moved from a 1 BR apartment to a 2 BR house. They did a great job - very thorough and they took special care of my furniture. The owner called me during the move to make sure things were going smoothly, and followed up with me after the move to see if I had any questions or concerns. Overall it was great customer service. I have moved about eight times in the last 10 years, and this was without-a-doubt the smoothest move I have experienced. I highly recommend Chandler.

Pros: Easy to schedule; good customer service; quick and easy move

My realtor recommended them, so I called them first. They went through each room of my two bedroom with sunroom apartment and made sure we didn't leave out any furniture from the quote, and they asked about the stairways, etc. She told me the move would cost about $560 based on men and hours. I called two more movers both of whom were short and rude on the phone. One of other movers just kept telling me the hourly rate and that it would take as long as it would take, without asking me about the funiture. So I made the appointment with Chandler. The movers showed up exactly on time and got right to work. The move wound up costing $500 exactly as we had moved our own clothes and wedding gifts as suggested by Chandler. The movers were polite and very helpful, and there was no damage, so it was a pleasant experience.

Pros: Good experience from start to finish,

Cons: no cons

I hired Chandler Moving to move the furniture out of my main floor to get the floors re-finished. They were great on the phone, and told me they could fit the furniture in the basement o save me on storage and transportation costs. They showed up on time, wrapped the furniture, and quickly carried the good things downstairs to the basement. They had to lower my large wall units and later lift it back up over a retaining wall, and seemed very cheerful about it. They left blankets on my nicest pieces of furniture for the storage period. When they came back to put the furniture back in place, they put pads on the furniture legs to keep from scratching my beautiful new floors (I will also recommend The Floor Connection very highly). No scratches, great attitude, and their final price was lower than the quotes I got from other companies.

Pros: Professional, Reasonable Cost, No Damage

Cons: None

We moved from a one bedroom loft to a two bedroom townhome in midtown. Pros: the people were really nice at the moving company and movers arrived on time. Price wasn't bad. Cons: The movers argued a lot amongst themselves as they moved stuff. We had a large desk which they said would scratch up the walls a little in order to get it to the second floor. We said that was fine since we hadn't painted yet. The scraches ended up being large chunks taken out of the corners of walls (I think they just ran the desk into one of the walls by mistake... One particular wall was in the entry way where they were just carrying in the desk). The desk is now broken - i think it happened when they bumped it into the wall. Anyways, they also tried to take our queen bed frame up to the second level, but after trying, said that the bed would have to be disassembled in order to move it. The next morning my boyfriend moved it by himself in about 2 minutes with no trouble and no scratches on the walls (and he's not a large guy). I dont think they were tilting furniture correctly when they were moving it in. So, it was fine moving out of our condo buildling (no tight turns or stairs), but they didn't do such a good job bringing furniture into our townhome.

Pros: people were nice, easy to schedule, good value

Cons: bumps, scratches, arguing, complaining

Just finished my move with Chandler and couldn't be more pleased. We moved from a three story townhouse into a two story home (both having difficult staircases). The crew was ontime, courteous, and incredibly professional. Not only did they have to move a grand piano using a side yard on a grassy slope, they went well beyond the proverbial mile manouvering a very large wine cellar into an exceedingly tight space on the second floor of our new home. In a move that filled two trucks, not one wall was scuffed and not one piece of furniture was scratched or damaged in anyway. Many thanks to the five guys who made up the crew, you guys are the best.

Pros: Just a great experience all around

Cons: None

I always use Chandler Moving for my moves. I move every couple of years. I don't have much furniture, but it's all pretty nice modern stuff. They've actually gotten better each time I've moved with them (they wrap things up before they move them now where they used to just pad them in the truck). I first got them from my company's bulletin board where they had all good reviews. My parents and my daughter have also moved with Chandler and there has never been anything damaged. It is a pretty small company (just two or three people in the office and maybe three trucks) and the owner is very involved. He will either come out on the move or call to make sure the move is going well. I always call a month in advance to make sure I get on their schedule and can pick my day.

Pros: Personal service, very careful, quick

Cons: Not any

I first used Chandler Moving to move my spinet piano up two flights of stairs with a landing. I had already moved, and the company I had used wouldn't try to get the piano up for me. Chandler Moving and Storage was on time, careful, and professional, and got the piano up easily, so I gave them my whole move this time. Four very big men showed up about ten minutes later than the 9:30 apointment (we needed four for the piano) and the move went incredibly fast. It actually cost $190 less than my earlier move with the other company that left my piano downstairs. They were very nice guys who seemed to have known each other for years, and they volunteered to unload my car after they had already turned the clock off and collected the check (I did tip them ten dollars apiece). I would definitely recommend them.

Pros: very skilled, professional, hard working

Cons: Maybe uniforms would have been good

I used Chandler moving on 3/31/07 and will not hire them again. They should have arrived at my apartment at 1:30 pm but did not show up until 2 1/2 hours late, at 4:05 pm. When I called to inquire about where they were, I reached Jana Chandler who told me that she had just tried to reach her husband (the owner) and his crew but that they must still be moving their last client because she could not reach them. When they finally arrived--again 2 hours late, Jana was in the truck with her husband which means that he stopped to pick her up, despite already being late for my job or she was with him all along. Mr. Chandler claimed to want to make the situation right by helping his two-man crew move my belongings at no additional charge. However, his wife (Jana) had already quoted the job at three men and a truck at the time of the booking. When I pointed this out to him, he flatly denied it, and refused to discount my service. Since they do not provide a written contract, I had no legal recourse. I believe it was a rehearsed bait and swich. Though not as inconvenient, an additional annoyances was that I had to provide my address three different times because they kept misplacing it. I will not hire this company again.

Response from this business

We did run late, but moved her quickly, cheaply, safely, and honestly.

She called after we'd booked our last morning slot & we gave her an APPROXIMATE eta of 1:30 to 2, & we'd call her midmorning to update her. The 1st move was large & we called to say we'd be at least an hour late. We ran as fast as we could on the 1st move, and arrived before 4 but started her clock at 4:05 after I offered to charge her at the 2 rather than 3 man rate(she denied this was a discount!). I couldn't make her understand what I was offering. We literally ran up and down the stairs at her 2nd floor apt and got her furniture + about 45 boxes/bags (vases, pots, dishes in plastic bags, plenty of loose items)moved to a storage unit 10 miles away for $230, which should have been $240 at 2 men, but I took $10 additional off her bill. My wife and kids actually arrived in her minivan after the job began in order to drive me away after the load. I'd also called around and had found her the storage unit which came with a free month, but she didn't thank me.

I've used Chandler Movers three times and thought I'd give them a plug. Always on time, always quick, never damage anything, always professional. The guys are smart and nice. I've told friends about them and they have had the same results. I initially used them because they had the lowest rates when I was calling around. They have gone up $5 dollars an hour in 3 years (depends on how many men you need),so I think they're still a good deal. One service I never have to worry about!

Pros: Fast, careful, friendly. They always make sure of all the items on the phone.

They were very detail oriented on the phone, sent me a great crew (very polite and hardworking), and took great care of my furniture. They also had the most reasonable rates of the companies I called. I had been referred by two different friends and now I will refer them to my friends.

Pros: Janna was great on the phone, and Gary was great on my job.

Cons: None.
