Great golf for the price
by atlhero
Pristine golf in the heart of Buckhead. The location is great and the course is challenging. The greens are always in great shape. The joggers around the park are a great distraction.
- Pros: Location and Greens
- Cons: none
The best Atlanta golf bargain--and the locals know it.

Overview
The course is not very long, so there's no need to consistently muscle up with a driver to score well. The simplistic par-3s provide ample opportunities for par or better, while doglegs, gently sloping fairways and numerous hazards on the other holes require more carefully planned and placed tee shots.
Signature, Please
The par-4, 446-yard No. 18 requires a tee shot carefully placed on a narrow fairway with a creek looming on the left. Your second shot up to a raised green won't be any easier.
Puttin' Around
Hackers, scratch golfers, youthful duffers and carefree retirees flock to this beautifully kept public course nestled among the hills of Chastain Park.
History
The course was formerly home to a pre-Masters PGA tournament. It's part of a family of four city-owned golf courses around town.
Best public course in town

I've always enjoyed playing North Fulton. The terrain itself leads to fun and challenging holes (especially the hilly back nine). While there are arguably weak spots in the course maintenance, it is a great course to play for fun given the low greens fees...plenty of challenging hazards (though they've cut down on the traps), easy to get a tee time. And North Fulton is a much, much better play than it's intown public neighbor, Bobby Jones. Get an early tee time on the weekends to avoid longer play time.
- Pros: cheap, fun course
- Cons: no driving range
