NOT AUTHENTHIC
by vt737sp at Citysearch
This is a Chinese owned Japanese restaurant: not quite authentic. This place used to be Suntory, and they just bought the building to look authentic. They serve sushi too, but it never comes out right, (rice is soggy and over squished) and appetizer sushi always comes out AFTER the main course. It takes them 40 minutes to wrap rice. It's understandable because Chinese people don't eat or handle short grain rice like Japanese. HIbachi is OK but not so satisfactory. The food and service is not near close Kobe-Stake .
Great food and atmosphere

I love hibachi and sushi. I have eaten at many of these style restaurants. Mo Mo Ya has the best rice I have tasted and they steam and cook you veggies to your liking. Most places that I have eaten don't usually accommodate all the patron in the group especially, if they are not together. There sushi is always fresh. I would eat here any day over the other competitors in the area.
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: parking and busy street
Horrible customer service

I ordered takeout during the lunch rush for myself and a couple of co-workers. My food was ready when I got there but it took over 20 mins for me to pay for the food. The manager was extremely rude and kept taking phone orders while trying to check me out. I also witness another patron who ordered take out and cancelled her ordered because it was not ready when she got there. Their service is horrible!! Also my egg drop soup had alot of gel (for lack of a better word) in it, it was gross.
Nice touches

I believe everyone can find something at Mo Mo Ya. Definitely check out the steaks but there are really neat other options. The noodle dishes are nice and healthy and even the sushi was decent quality.
- Pros: food ideas
- Cons: tables are noisy
PERFECTION

This place serves the best gourmet food in town. The employees are the best servers in the business. There's never a wait, bcause there are two bars, a huge patio, two inside seating areas, and two downstairs lounges ideal for parties and events. MMY has the perfect atmosphere for any occasion, business lunch, first date, anniversary. It is kid friendly, but during the day or on a Sunday evening is better family time.
MMY has impressive aquariums featuring beautiful and exotic specimens. The music is great, and DJs spin live drum and base there. Yakitori has a big screen TV ideal for sports entertainment, and a fried seafood buffet for Monday night football. The calamari rocks.
This is one of the best restaurants in Buckhead, a refreshing change from the typical Buckhead nonsense.
See you there.
- Pros: food, atmospher, parking
- Cons: none
