not consistant
by lauraleefuller at Citysearch
I especially went to Horseradish Grill to have the shrimp and gritts that I always order. They are usually great. Last night, I sent the small (which were to be jumbo) shrimp back because they tasted like rubber. The waiter kindly, sent them back and brought another round. The second round was far worse. The rubber texture from over cooking was not the standard I have experienced over the years.
I was really disappointed since I chose the restaurant and wanted to show my date, a great place to dine.
- Pros: waiter was great
- Cons: not consistant
Long Time Favorite

Horseradish Grill has a strange name because I've never seen any horseradish on the menu, but this is an incredible place for gourmet southern food. I love the mini bisquits with peach jam.

Great evening!

Dined last night after hearing about the Horseradish for a long time. I enjoyed the chopped salad and ordered the venison due to the waitress recommendation. The salad was good and my venizon was tremendous. I have only tried it once prior and would order it again. The atmosphere is very nice and I will be back for special event type dinners. Also, the staff was highly professional.
Best Dining Experience in Atlanta
by whyzer at Citysearch
Last evening was our anniversary and our first visit to the Horseradish Grill. It had been recommended to us by my step-daughter. By far this was our best dining experience since relocating to Atlanta in 1993. The food, drinks, wine selection and wait staff were all excellent. My wife started with muscles in white wine sauce. I generally do not care for shell fish but these were excellent, this was followed by a port wine poached pear salad and finally lamb chops. I started with pulled pork, coleslaw on a cornmeal pancake, salad and grilled mountain trout. All were exceptional and served perfectly by a highly trained professional staff. The high light of the evening was dessert, Kentucky Spiced Oatmeal Cake topped with caramel ice cream. To characterize this amazing treat as "to-die-for" would be an understatement.
Our thanks to all at the Horseradish for making this a night to remember, in particular our waiter who went way beyond what we have grown to expect in the Atlanta area - we will return and we will highly recommend this restaurant to our friends. They have complimentary valet parking as do many restaurants however, the Horseradish Grill does it better than anyone. The attendant watches as people get up from their table and he remembers who drove what - when you arrive at the parking lot he has your car waiting so you don't have to wait - amazing.
- Pros: Food, wait staff, ambience, parking, everything
- Cons: none
Wonderful Dinner Spot

Horseradish Grill is a top notch restaurant. All of the food was amazing, from the fried green tomatoes and North Carolina barbeque for appetizers, to the honey glazed duck for dinner. The dessert was especially delicious: the Kentucky spice cake is to die for. Complimented with a great wine list and impeccable service, we had such a great night here!

This is a "must try" restaurant!!!!

One must simply try this restaurant. Service from attractive waiters, great food and very reasonable prices. What more could a girl ask for?! How about some soft buttermilk biscuits as bread for the table. The servings are big! A little noisey at lunch time but a great place I am sure in the evening for a romantic date. Beautiful wood interior with provides one of a warm dining experience.
A slight "con" occured but still it was not enough to dim my enthusiasm. I was with a big group so it took a little while for our meals to come but they were worth the wait. I am definitely going back and so are many of my co-workers. In fact one of my team mates is one the phone now telling her daughter all about it!!!! Please put this on your "must try" soon list. You won't be sorry.
- Pros: Food, good parking, good looking waiters
- Cons: Slow with big groups
Total disaster, but still will go back someday

Seated right away, our waiter was excellent. So far, so good right? Wrong! We ordered our meals and bottle of wine. Waiter came back and told my husband that his fish entree & wine ordered are not available. He joins me in ordering tuna - rare. Mine came out cooked perfectly. His was WELL DONE. He sent it back, again the waiter is apologetic. The manager now comes to the table profusely apologetic stating they are now out of tuna. In anger, I stated that our meal was officially ruined and we would SHARE my entree. Our waiter couldn't have been nicerand more professional. Moral of this story- they were so gracious, the food was good.Stuff happens. This night it happened ALL to us. Our entire tab was comped . I would give it another try merely because they went out of their way to be accomodating under bad circumstances.
- Pros: waiter, quaint
- Cons: ran out of food
Must try!

I have had some of my best Atlanta dining experiences here! I have attended a company party at this restaurant, celebrated a friend's b-day at this restaurant, and was taken on a date there, as well. All were fantastic experiences! The staff was very accomodating and friendly. The food was wonderful. I highly recommend the venison. The spice cake was incredible! I did make the mistake of going here on the same night as a Chastain concert. It was very crowded and we were seated late, so if you go in the summer, make sure it's not on the same night as a Chastain concert or wait and go after the show starts.
- Pros: fantastic ambience, incredible food, great staff
- Cons: valet parking
