Bright, shiny Japanese-owned bakery creates beautiful French pastries and gourmet sandwiches.
by Contributor at Citysearch
In Shor
tHidden in the Prado shopping center, this immaculate bakery creates some of the most exquisite French pastries in all of Atlanta. And the delicate pains au chocolat, fruit danishes, eclairs, rum babas, tartes, mousses and meringues taste as good as they look. In addition to sweets, Joli Kobe bakes crunchy baguettes, sweet rolls, made-to-order cakes and a selection of Asian treats like red-bean buns. Sandwiches go gourmet-style wearing both Japanese and French influences. The ham and cheese sports a snappy gruyere and béchamel, while the almond curry chicken is an Asian take on a chicken salad sandwich. Channeling Tokyo-street bakeries, a sparkling display case offer a wide variety of interesting and sometimes imported drinks options, and quick to-go packages.

I've been to Joli Kobe Bakery & Cafe the other day and I was really pleased with the services there. Really good people and good services. Think I'm going to visit that place more often.

Recently had the tuna nicoise salad and my friend had the chicken salad sandwich. Chicken salad was just chicken and mayo - tasteless. Was surprised and disappointed that the tuna in my nicoise was canned tuna, not a seared chunk. Heavy fruit and nut bread served with lunch was good. The bakery section smelled great, and had very pretty offerings. I would not go back again for lunch (or at least not order the nicoise or chicken salad) based on my experience.
- Pros: Unique concept to Atlanta, beautiful bakery offerings
- Cons: Taste of savory foods
Deluxe Luncheon Noshes In Sandy Springs! Wonderful Rasberry Mousse!
by jaymaygm at Citysearch
While working a couple of accounts in the Sandy Springs/Perimeter area, I had to stop into Joli Kobe, one of my all time favorite places to lunch in the metro. French baked goods, with a Japanese twist, and everything inbetween. The aroma of the freshly baked goods and pasteries, is enough. to get the taste buds working. The little cafe that adjoins the bakery, is always hopping. I always order the spicy Tiger Shrimp Salad with Papaya, and topped with fried potatoe strips. And the cheese and grape stuffed mushrooms are not to be missed. And oh man, that Rasberry Mousse! And I thought I was starting a diet this spring. Take a couple of the loaves of bread home. You gotta love it!
- Pros: Delightful French/Japenese Bakery & Cafe!
Upscale cafe with minimal attitude
by francesfr at Citysearch
One of my favorites for lunch. Haven't tried dinner but can't wait as I hear the ambiance is a lot more calmer. The decor is beautifully minimalist and contemporary. Salads are exquisite and all dishes are well presented. The bisque is rich, the tenderloin tips tasty, the avacado & shrimp salad is light, healthy and flavorful while the take away cookies are a fun treat. They have many apps, sandwiches, salads and entrees as well as freshly made pastries. (Their cakes and pastries are their specialty). Always a treat and priced just right. Service is efficient & friendly. During lunch it can get loud as the place tends to fill with mostly chatty Buckhead type ladies who sometimes bring their kids. Best to go @ 11 or 1 for lunch. Parking can be tricky but is always availabe, just not up front during high traffic hours. I highly recommend this restaurant and their bakery for your next special event.
- Pros: food, decor, staff
- Cons: noise level & parking during busy hours
Great Sandwiches and cakes
by hungryandfatasian at Citysearch
I've been going to Joli Kobe for more than 15 years, good sandwich, pastry and cakes. Owned by the same owner of Kobe Steak House and also the owner of Prado Shopping Center. My favorite is egg salad and potato salad sandwich, coffee imported from Italy is good too. After 5pm, all the baked bread and pastry becomes $1.00, so come and stock up!
- Pros: Since theyare Japanese, you can talk to them in Japanese
- Cons: Hardly any parking space, due to sharing space with other buisness
Jazz, Food, & Drinks Hard to Beat....
by souleros at Citysearch
Very cool looking, yet warm & friendly ambiance makes you enjoy just being there. The great food, well-made drinks, & great live jazz (on Mondays & Tuesdays) make it a no-brainer!
Plenty of free parking, and it's convenient location only add to no-stress experience...
The salmon, grouper, and sea bass specials I had have all been excellent, as was the crabcake. I also loved the organic greens w/goat cheese & ginger dressing, & the Bruschetta was quite tasty, too. It's not too loud or noisy, the band is great, and aren't blasting us out of our chairs. All in all, a fabulous "secret spot", especially on a Monday or Tuesday night.
- Pros: Ambiance, food, music, vibe, free parking, no cover charge
- Cons: live jazz is only on Mon/Tues nights....
Worth the drive

I never knew this place was here until the write up in the AJC. Decided to check it out and I'm glad I did. The curry chicken salad was really good as was the crab bisque. A must try.
- Pros: Crab bisque
- Cons: the crepe was a bit rich although still good
