thanks for leaving your comment about Pung Mie...Although it is real hard to satisfy everyone we try our very best...for those people that didnt enjoy their experience i am really sorry to hear but we have taken action to correct whatever we possibly can to make sure your next visit is a better one... I do want all the readers to know that the negative comments are just as good as the positive ones because it helps us in the areas that we need improvement...but what is funny to me is that one of the negative feedback we got makes no since....although if the fried rice wasnt up to your standards we been here for 20 plus years and we never had curry chicken on our menu...so i really dont know if that guy or girl visited the right restuarant....thanks for all the feedbacks

Wow this place is the bad. I didnt want to eat my food, seemed like they just put c%&p on a plate and served it. I've lived in the 30341 for years and eaten at many of the wonderful places on and around BH, but this one gets the 'yucky award'!!!

Pros: It's close

Cons: awful food and service

As the last reviewer stated, it's not knock-your-shoes-off, blow-holes-in-your-socks and shockingly-amazing, but Pung Mie( for all you ultra-atlantans out there, pronounced 'poong-mee) is an honestly good Cantonese restaurant. In my ripe old age of 27, I have been dining here for the past twenty(!) years with consistently great meals. Never a gripe with the service, food, or other annoying diners who think they're having a terrible time because they want to make it a terrible time so they can make a fuss on CitySearch! Recommended- hot pepper chicken, boneless.

Pros: Chinese food- sans MSG!

Cons: the "divier" first location circa early 80's was a lot cozier

This is THE BEST restaurant on Buford Highway in Atlanta. The chef is great and the food is always fresh and delicious. Every time we need to take clients out for a great and sumptous meal we head to Pung Mie. We usually ask the owner what is the best fresh fish for the day and she will describe what is fresh and all the ways that it can be prepared. If you need a great meal remember to head out to this place. We have brought parties of 20 people out there and have been seated and served immediately. Staff is great and service is impecable. The dishes are large and we share the various dishes we order. Great place.

Pros: Everything about it is super.

Cons: None

This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. Pung Mie was the worst food and worst service I have experienced. I made a reservation with a gentleman that spoke perfect English, when the group arrived they starting placing folks at a small table in the back lower level. That was an honest mistake, once they realized we all would not fit they moved us upstairs to the large round tables. This is when it was apparent it was to be a long long night out. They put one waiter on our tables, could've worked, but he had no idea what he was doing and did not seem to care, in fact this may well have been his first time EVER to wait tables; but even so his service was inexcusable. We were given three menus, we asked for more, and told they did not have more. I walked down stairs and picked up 8 menus sitting at the hostess stand (what was that about????) Orders were finally taken about hour after we sat down, then they brought them out over a 20 minute time frame...actually it was kind of funny. The waiter would walk out with one dish and not know where to put it and walk back in the kitchen with it. On one occasion he came out with three dishes on a cart, delivered two and pushed the cart back in the kitchen with one entree still on it. It was a miserable experience, and only after FIVE different diners walked down stairs to complain did they send a second waiter up to help; not once did the gentleman that speaks English come up to check on us...even though he was aware of the complaints (hmm). A table full of Asians next to us walked out. Well, the food was horrible, most did not eat it. The orange beef and sesame chicken appeared to be leftover from a lunch buffet and refried, this is not an exaggeration. I could go on, but the fact is the management did not care at all about our experience and I want to make sure no one else drives to this restaurant based on the reviews written here only to be disappointed as we were.

Pros: I can walk there

Cons: food and sevice are horrible

I'm asian, and I've experienced many different asian dishes around Georgia and Pung Mie had some good "chang-bong" and "ja jang mayun". Their poultry dishes weren't as good as I thought they'd be, and their rice was way too sticky for Chinese style rice... Also, the price wasn't so fair when it came to the check.

Pros: atmosphere

Cons: price

Worst Chinese in Atlanta? What?!? I am not sure if the person who wrote that review has a penchant for bad food, or has never had actual Chinese or Korean food, but Pung Mie is Chinese cuisine at its most authentic and finest. My husband and I live about 20 miles away and make the drive whenever possible--sometimes cultivating "reasons" why we must go downtown--just so we can eat there. All of our friends-including Asians-- who have had the pleasure of dining at this unpretentious restaurant are also devout loyalists. For starters, you won't find better Kimchi anywhere, which is provided along with tea as the prelude to all meals. The pork pan fried dumplings are the BEST we've ever had--and we've both lived in various Asian countries. They are stuffed to the brim and delicately crisped, and to make matter even better they come in orders of 10 for under $8. The Orange Beef and shredded pork with hot pepper are must tries, although everything we've ever had there is downright scrumptious. If your idea of 'Chinese food" is P.F. Chang's or the local suburban pod mall Panda Express then Pung Mie is not going to be your cup of tea (same goes if you consider fried rice a walk on the wild side), but if you're looking for an out-of-the-states dining experience without leaving Georgia, Pung Mie is your kind of restaurant. Enjoy!

Pros: Amazing Service, warm and quiet dining room, good service

Cons: location, if you live "O.T.P"

If you're a real customer, then you should know what to get. If you're a new customer or whatever the Chinese food guru said, don't eat the American dishes because you know they will taste weird if the restaurant focuses mainly cooking asian delicacies. Pung Mie has been one of my favorite restaurant ever!!!!The low prices, fast service, and great selection is what has kept me coming for more than 5 years

Pros: Good prices, wide variety of food, great workers

Cons: None

It's Christmas, so most restaurants are closed until tomorrow. So, I checked the reviews and decided to go to Pung Mie. My mistake. :( I ordered chicken fried rice and curry chicken. It had to among the worst food I've had in awhile. The fried rice didn't look, smell, or taste like fried rice. WHO MESSES UP FRIED RICE????!?!?!? Ultimately, it was a waste of money, time, and gas to try this restaurant. I'm beyond disappointed and surprised it has stayed in business with food like this. I'm a Chinese food guru--I've been to restaurants all over the US--and this place rates at the bottom of my list.

Pros: Parking, Fast Service

Cons: Bad Food

I've been going to Pung Mie for over 10 years! It is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurant in town. I went there with my parents and ordered 4 dishes. We only paid $23!!!!!
